Front desk staff…read moresays they are helping but when the first thing you hear, and then hear multiple times, over the same rescheduling call, that they have a 48hour cancellation policy and will charge a $200 penalty, it makes you feel that they care more about the money than to provide an experience. . Understanding the issue first and patiently listening before bringing up penalty and late fees is what sets apart quality care. Interesting thing is that we left a message on Friday and Saturday and then someone from the office also called us to confirm cancelation and since I was driving she said to call back with a new time request (when I could access my calendar). However, when we called later, we were told they didn't have "any notes". And, asked for a name of the person who we spoke to. It is not our responsibility to know the name of the front desk staff we spoke to - it is understood that someone is making a note at their side. And, if the office staff is unsure, why not give the benefit of the doubt and if unsure, why not first check with your staff, your records, your voice note? Finally one staff member did confirm speaking with us but hadn't made a note. Could have done the due diligence first instead of reminding us that we are getting penalized? Also there's a dog in the clinic that freely roams around and barked...really don't feel comfortable with that.

When we arrived (15 min late), there was NOT A SINGLE PERSON IN THE WAITING ROOM, but they said they were cancelling both our appointments and would not see us. I am a health care provider at a busy hospital practice myself and I cannot imagine refusing to see my patients under the same circumstances. If PDA's business model relies on scheduling appointments with such a compressed schedule that they can't or won't accommodate any late arrivals (even as a first time event from an established patient and without anyone waiting), they obviously do not care about patients or the service they provide. While it's unlikely to make a dent in their hefty incomes, we won't be returning.

I needed a general dentist and also a dentist that does implants. The dental hygienists were all great! However, my experience with getting an implant crown was not as good. The surgeon who put it in was great and kind, but my experience getting the crown after by Dr. Moutevelis was very rough. The cost of a crown on an implant here is 3k, so not cheap and very similar in price to practices that specialize in only implants. However, the whole crown process here was confusing and very painful for me. The doctor didn't seem to know what he was doing, and told me that this was his first time with this brand of implant. Getting my crown in hurt terribly. They gave me pain relief and it still hurt like hell. After leaving the office, I went through three weeks of pain. The first time I called for their help they told me to wait it out since pain is normal (not true at all with my new crown). I couldn't even sleep well because my whole jaw hurt bad, all my teeth ached constantly, not just the implant. My jaw hurt sharply when I opened my mouth because the contacts were way too tight. I couldn't even floss. I came back in 5 times, getting several adjustments and still had pain when eating and sleeping. He even shaved neighboring teeth without telling me, I found out because my teeth felt like sandpaper (this was probably necessary but I would like to be informed). Dr. Moutevelis didn't seem to know what was wrong or why it hurt. I was desperate and I got a second opinion, who informed me the tooth was too wide on the abutment/bottom and was pushing on my bone which caused the pain. He could tell immediately when looking at an X-ray. The second opinion recommended I find a different dentist. I got a new crown from another doctor in three weeks with no pain at all as soon as I left. Do not get implant crowns here, it's expensive (around the same as the specialty I went to for the fix) and they lack the experience or confidence needed. Their equipment was also "old school" as my new dentist described. To their credit, Dr. Moutevelis did apologize and refund me when I requested it. But people looking for implants or implant crown replacements should look somewhere else

They were insistent on having left me voicemails, but when they read my cell phone number back to me, they had the wrong number on file, so someone else received the voicemails. Perhaps they should confirm contact details. To continuously insist they had left me a voicemail in a rude tone when I had told them I didn't was very frustrating. Do they really think I would get a cancellation voicemail and then cart my screaming newborn to their office for the fun of it? Pretty annoying when you help out by taking a cancellation and they don't have their ducks in a row as to what is needed for an appointment and then they leave a voicemail on the wrong number and you've carted your newborn around for no reason. Super unprofessional, and frankly, the ladies at the front desk were super rude instead of apologetic since they had messed up. I will not be going back here as they are clearly incompetent and recommend you look elsewhere as well. What I've always loved about Dr. M is his ability to explain the course of treatment in a way that's easy to understand. He's also always been very realistic about results. Plus, the girls in his office are the nicest!! However, as much as I adore the whole team, I'm definitely going to be wearing my retainers this time around so I'm hoping i don't have to see Dr. M and his staff any time soon :)
