This is a true dive bar. It's been around for years. My sister who went to school in Fargo said we had to go and have a Gert burger. You enter to order the food you go to the back right hand side and place your order and pay for it and they will call your name when it's ready and you go up to the counter and pick it up. They give you your drink right away. A very laid-back place thoroughly enjoyed the food. I plan to return. read more

First off I'm from out of state and have never been here. I was on a walk about and saw this place. It's hard to notice, kids tucked away in the corner. I looked it u and it received good ratings so I figured I would give it a try. This a great dive bar. Best burger ever walked in a few minutes before they we're closing the grill down and they let me order a cheese burger with raw onions and blue cheese on top with a side of onion rings. Outstanding dive bar. Probably one of the best I've been to. They have pool tables, darts, happy hour and so much more. This is a definitive local hang out that's entrenched to the community. The menu is epic and simple all at the same time. To try a burger here transports you to 1970. Outstanding at what they do. The location looks sketch but it's not at all. So here's the real deal. Micks is a hole in the wall bar. But that's why you go there. Cheap food ( best burgers in moorhead), even cheaper drinks (daily drink specials as well as all day happy hour for Military), and a staff that appreciates you and your business. Here's why ppl don't like it. They get bad service... why? THEY DONT TIP. What would you expect? Want good service? TIP YOUR BARTENDERS. Here's another reason ppl don't like it. Its dark and there's writing all over the walls. It's categorized as a dive bar... DUH. Get over it you pompous ass. The other thing ppl don't like about Micks is when the local private college kids are there (Cobbers). And honestly nobody likes the cobbers. They're rude and don't tip. If you're looking for five star dining, this isn't it. If you just want a beer and a burger, this place fits the bill! No bones about it - this place is a dive bar, pure and simple. But that's not a bad thing. The wood paneling, tables and a long bar with stools contribute to the feel of this place. There's two billiards tables and a place for ordering food. Oh? What sort of food do they have here? It's mainly burgers though they have other items like fries and even pizza (!) - the burgers are quite tasty and are cooked quickly. Obviously everyone says they have "the best burger" in their respected areas of a city or state, but at least Mick's Office isn't lying to you when they make that claim. You're looking at top shelf quality with bottom tier pricing on a very colorful menu. I'm a simple bacon cheeseburger man myself, but they've managed to ruin restaurants and other bars for me with their "German Steele" and "Fireman Burger". (Get the "Fire Chief" if you think you've got the jewels) The atmosphere ranges from slow and quiet during the day to a raging college party at night. I've seen the place at capacity with a line halfway across the parking lot. Why? Because it's the place to be, especially on a Thursday night. When was the last time you got zozzled off of 20 bucks? Make it this week with their insane drink prices! Every day carries a special that'll make your bank account swoon. So join some of us on a Wednesday afternoon for dollar (yeah ONE dollar!) burgers and ladies night after 9pm! Then it's "See you tomorrow" for mug night on Thursday. Went there with a coouple of my friends last wednesday to have a good old fun. But the place was dead. Maybe I was there at the wrong day and the wrong night. But I honestly thought I had a blast. We got some cheap drinks and I had fun throwing darts with my friend and had a good old fun. I tried some fargo drinks specials like SCOOBY SNACK, ROCK LOBSTER and WU TANG. Those drinks are awesome, especially the SCOOBY SNACK. If you are in the mood for a nice night out maybe on the weekend, try Mick's Office. This place has had some big changes since the 80's when I lived here and went to MSU, but it's almost as divey. The bathroom ceiling got edited/painted and it's a lot bigger, but when I was it school this place was packed at lunch. Prices are great and the staff is very friendly. They have also decided to fancy up the old Gert burger. Not necessarily needed but I guess in case Guy Fierri stops by. Love that they kept the old booth that used to be by the bathrooms but this old guy got a little confused when I left because I ended up in the smoking pen as I was used to that being the door back in my day. If you are in town for a hockey tourney and want a different place to go to get away from the chains, micks is a great joint. Dive bar w good bar food and plenty of games for kids. Great beer selection. If you are offended easily don't look at the walls. We brought a squirt hockey team here and the parents got drinks and the kids had a ball. read more

Great, unique place. It is unlike any bar I've been in before. It's a perfect college dive-y kind of place - I'm confident this would have been a regular place for me if I went to college in Fargo/Morehead. Bringing a group of 10-11 year old Squirt hockey players there for lunch was....interesting. One might say that this place is inappropriate for kids, and they would probably be right. Luckily we're not super sensitive - what makes the place unique is the filthy stuff that they have let people write all over the walls and ceiling - probably not good for kids. But we don't regret our visit at all - the kids had a blast there, as did the adults. All in, love the place. If you love college bars, this is one to definitely try out. read more

The food was excellent (just bring me a barrel of the beer cheese dip please), they have my favorite beer on tap, I had a pool table all to myself, and even the music they were playing didn't suck! Nothing beats a Mick's Burger! I have loved their bar style griddle and toasted bun burgers for years! Another favorite are their fries! The round wavy fries that are soft on the inside yet crunchy on the outside. So delicious! Also on Wednesday's from 5:00-7:00pm, you can get Buck Bugers! I have been going to Mick's since 1979, I have had some great times there. My last visit was on February 11, 2012, and it was the worst visit. The bartender was friendly, but the cook was very slow. There only 10 people in the place. I have never had serve this bad before! read more

Great burgers and frickles. I loved the dive bar atmosphere and personable staff. The hand crafted burgers are not greasy, but fresh and full of flavor. The place was clean and did not stink of beer. The women's room was not shiny clean, but overall it was an enjoyable dive bar experience. It was entertaining to read the things people had written on the bar walls, none of which was clean humor. read more
