My dumpster was originally scheduled for delivery on Tuesday. After waiting all day, I contacted customer service around 3:30 p.m., spent time on hold, and was first told that my delivery was still scheduled for that day. I was later informed that they could not make the promised delivery and that it would instead arrive the following morning. The dumpster was delivered on Wednesday at approximately 9:00 a.m. The bigger issue is that I paid for a three-day rental, with delivery on June 24 and pickup scheduled for June 26. Instead, the dumpster was removed on June 25 at approximately 2:30 p.m., giving me less than 30 hours of use for a service that was contracted for three full days. Customer service claimed this was because the City of Chicago permit expired at midnight on June 25. To verify that information, I contacted my local alderman's office and was informed that the permit actually expired at 11:59 p.m. on June 26. To be fair, Kevin in customer service was polite and genuinely tried to help. After the dumpster was removed, he initially offered to have the driver return for a 30-minute live dump so I could finish loading debris from my property. When I explained that this was not what I paid for and was not an acceptable solution, he increased the offer to one hour. While I appreciate his efforts, that still was not the contract I agreed to. Ultimately, the company issued a $50 credit, which represented the value of the lost rental day. I appreciate that they eventually corrected the billing, but it did not make up for the inconvenience, time spent on hold, and frustration of having to fight for the service I had already paid for. In the end, I paid for three days and received less than 30 hours of actual use. Although the issue was partially resolved with a $50 refund, the overall experience was disappointing. Save yourself the frustration and aggravation and consider working with a local company that offers reliable service, better communication, and greater accountability.
