We rented a 15 yard container for 1 week starting on 12/06/23, and it should have been picked up on 12/13/23. Today is 12/18/23 and City Wide still has not sent anyone to come pick it up. I've called multiple times since 12/13 to ask the status of the pick up. The person who is answering the phone keeps telling me that they'll have someone pick it up asap. That was a lie. After a few more calls, that's when they told us they're behind on pick ups. I understand what's it like to be short staff or behind on work, but this is unacceptable. This isn't fair for us or our neighbors who need to park. Our street has residential parking for a reason. It's a hazard to those who are reaching inside the container to take stuff home. Fiber glass insulation is dangerous to touch. Something that should have been an easy service has now become an inconvenience. No matter the price. We won't be using City Wide again, and we do not recommend it. read more

The customer service for this business is horrible. The gentleman who answers the phone is rude, short with words and doesn't appear to want to work there. In dealing with them I had damage to my property, when I ordered pickups they would come days to weeks later and when I did not order a pickup they would come and take a half empty dumpster away. when I paid for a full one. I wish I could give them a 0 and I have never written any reviews in my life! Dumpster was dropped in our driveway in front of the garage. Due to construction supply deliveries we requested that the dumpster be moved to the front lawn, which they did. However when they moved the dumpster they also broke off the plumbing b-box. This was in the middle of January 2023 so our GC contacted his plumber to repair it and they charged us $5,500 which they said to just submit the bill to City Wide Disposal for reimbursement. We contacted City Wide and spoke to both Tony and John and emailed them numerous times and both refused to take responsibility for it even though the plumber and GC both confirmed it was broken by the dumpster. Fake reviews and only trouble!! I ordered a dumpster to a property in South Chicago. The office told us that they cannot put the dumpster on the street because there is metered parking. I offered to pay the necessary fees and they still refused. I showed the driver and the office that metered parked ends at a certain portion of the block. The office refused to consider this and said the the metered parkind extends the ENTIRE block even though there a sign indicates the opposite. When I looked up a map of the metered parking obviously it shows that its not the entire block. Even an alternative to put the dumpster in front of an abandoned building on the opposite side of street they also refused. Unreasonable and only headaches here. They also brought the smallest dumpster even though we requested the 30 yard. read more

It looks like all of Citywide's competition has to resort to fake reviews because they can't compete. I've been working with them for a couple years. We are real estate investors and have used CityWide more times than we can count on various rehab projects. I wish I could give 0 starts. Horrible company to work with. We are a commercial contractor and when we first started using them a few years ago we had no problems. Then they started not picking up filled dumpster or bringing new ones out in a timely matter. We would call and nothing for days and a few times even weeks. Then came the task of trying to get our invoices. Last year I had to call on 4 different occasions to have my invoices sent to me and the accounting girl had the nerve to fight with me telling me it's my fault. I've spoke with the owner in the past and another lady and nothing was ever done. I have my job and my bills are paid. I shouldn't have to do their job too or get blamed for their issues. Had City wide dumpster picked up after doing a job site garage clean up. The driver damaged my fence. Called the office multiple times and was told the owner will contact me. No one contact me and I have not been reimbursed damages to my fence. This company mistakenly dropped off a dumpster in front of my house. I called them & politely explained the situation & asked them to remove it. The man I spoke to said it would be removed the following day. It wasn't. I called back & spoke to another man. Again, I politely explained the situation. The man screamed at me & told me that he wouldn't remove it until the following day. The dumpster is supposed to be in front of the house 4 doors south of me, which is being gutted. I have used citywide in the past and have never had a problem. i rented a 20 yard dumpster on feb 16th payed in full and must be cash lol, red flag.. it was supposed to be picked up on feb 23rd, it is now march 7th. i called them on feb 18th to come and get it because it was full, they said they would be here tomorrow. well ive called 8 different days and they keep saying tomorrow. i have received several tickets on my car because of this crappy company that does not stand by there word. do yourselves a favor and stay far away. imagine if i had it on the street, the fines would be through the roof. anyway i am reporting this to the better business bureau maybe then they will come and pick the dumpster up. wish i could give this no stars. read more

They charge me for a 20 yard dumpster, give me a dumpster that does not close properly. I ask them to come fix it and they take it on me after 2 weeks. Not even half way filled up, I call they say we thought you were done. This is after 7 dumpsters for my project. They replace it after another week with another 10 yard dumpster and now they take it on me again because "we do not leave them for more than 10 days." How is that possible when I have had these since May and have been sitting for well over a month each time. They damaged my car on August 11, 2009 and will not pay for it or provide their insurance information. They just keep giving me the run-around. Even after cancelling our account it took them more than 10 days to pick up the dirty full dumpster. The prices are not the cheapest either. I looked online to try and get the cheapest dumpster I can so I went with CityWide. I called Thursday and asked them for an early Monday morning delivery they said ok. I called them at 7am Monday morning to find out what time they'll be coming, they said between 10 and 12 I reminded them I wanted an early morning delivery and they said that was the best they could do. At 11:30 I called them it was still not delivered and they said they would be there within the hour. By 1:15 it was still not delivered, so I called them again and they said they would be there in 20 minutes. At 2:15 CityWide called me back and said that the driver was there and didn't know where to put the dumpster. I informed them it was a single family house, I was there in the driveway and the driver was not there. They told me the driver would call me directly. At 2:30 the driver called me and said he had the ticket and he was on his way to drop off the container. At this point after 5 lies from the company I told them to forget it, I wasted the whole day and had a crew there since 8 am waiting to load the dumpster. I would never use this company or try to use them again. Better off going with a legit company and spend a couple dollars more. Ordered a dumpster for a garage clean-out project. Delivery was an hour and a half late, but that didn't cause too much trouble. Customer service is poor. Everytime I called the phone was answered with either a "Hello" or a "Yeah", and I'd have to ask if I was speaking to a representative of the company. The woman who answers the phones also tends to cut you off mid-sentence to put you on hold (although she does at least tell you she's putting you on hold). No one is very responsive though, via email or phone. I asked questions and received one word answers or no response. They fail to mention ahead of time that the payment due upon delivery is cash or cashier's check only, so you have to pay over the phone with a credit card. This would be fine if not for the fact that they then failed to provide me with a credit card receipt. I finally had to inform them that my credit card company would cancel the payment if they did not provide me with a credit card receipt (at the time I was under strict fraud monitoring), and only then did I receive a photo of the receipts sent to my email from someone's phone. Overall my expectations were rather low for a dumpster rental service, however City Wide somehow managed to fail even that with their unprofessional customer service and lack of responsiveness. The only reason for the 2 star rating is because the delivery driver was pleasant and professional (the only person I dealt with who was), and because the City permit fees are included in the rental fee. read more

All four dumpsters where always at least 45 minutes late to 2 hours late setting us back on our projects even after we established delivery times in advance and voiced our concern on the tardiness. Communication was terrible and disrespectful, never got to speak to a manager when requested, phone calls kept getting passed around constantly and the salesmen Joe Esposito even got angry and yelled at the customer on the phone that he didn't appreciate someone saying he was ripping them off or pulling one over on him. Now, we never accused him of any of this, we simply called the office to speak with a manager because we received a reimbursement check that we could cash because it was not signed and there was no documentation for our records provided (no receipt, no weight ticket, nothing). I merely asked for my paper work and everyone got all defensive and angry. When asked to speak with the boss/owner of the company I was told they could not give out that information..I had to find out on my own who he was and when I asked to speak to Tony everyone just stood there with their mouths open and then studdered that he wasn't available, however I was told my them that he was the only one who could sign the checks and that was all I needed to be done. After terrible service, several mistakes on their part, we had to do all the leg work and even drive to their company to drop off the check which couldn't even be signed on the same day. We started this process on 9/29/2011 and did not finalize it well into November for a mere 370.00 Very unprofessional company. read more

this company charged my debit card without my authorization and overdrew my account. don't trust them with ur debit or credit card no.s. they also lied and said they would refund the money. I would pay from time to time for the association that i belong to, and citywide called and 3 days later they charged my card and i never gave them permission. i simply paid for the association in the past. the association waas willing to pay but citywide did not even give them a chance and after 3 days when they left a message they just took liberty to charge my personal card. I felt that was wrong and complained and they made it seem like they had a right just because they were due a payment. but 3 days notice and not having permission to charge a 3rd party's debit card is wrong. they lied to me and i have no other recourse than to write a review reflecting how i was treated. I will never use them again. I sudgest you take caution with ur debit card. they won't! read more
