For the entrée, I chose Thai Chicken Fried Rice: rice stir-fried with chicken, veggies, egg, soy sauce and scallions ($7.99), along with Honey Walnut Prawns ($4) as a side. The fried rice was well-balanced in soy sauce flavor and not overwhelmingly oily or salty. Chicken pieces were coated in a thin batter and tender. As for the prawns, they were crispy and lightly coated in dressing so it was not too sweet or heavy. One of the nicer Microsoft cafeterias that I have visited, and would be inclined to return to try the other stations. The falafel bowl from the Mediterranean station looked quite tasty as I walked by afterwards.

Any percentage they charge will get deducted from tipping and discourage us from coming again. 2. They no longer validate parking in the garage behind it since several years ago. Street parking is limited and painful sometimes. 3. They exited Resy network a few years ago - that was one of the reasons we kept coming. 4. The food is still good but the quality is declining. The "+add brisket" option which costs $10 on top of the Mac and Cheese was the driest I've had in many years. They also removed menu items like duck chicken liver mouse which were really good.

As you can imagine with any hospital visit that is more serious, the waiting period can be long, so getting food nearby is inevitable. I came to Cafe 128, not expecting much for lunch, but was impressed. Cafe 128 is located in the central part of Evergreen Health, which is the main eatery of the hospital. Set up like a cafeteria, there are different areas with different food options, such as wood-oven pizza, salad bar, sandwich counter, deli, a wok station, etc. Seriously, I couldn't believe I was in a hospital with so much to choose from. I ended up getting a blackened salmon salad from the bar where the staff assembles the salad in front of you. And the salad was delicious and was about $13. It's unfortunate for anyone who needs to be in the hospital, but if you happen to need food and are at Evergreen Health, Cafe 128 is pretty dang good. The menu includes a variety of freshly prepared salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and breakfast entree's. I tried their chopped turkey salad, the Thai chicken salad, the lentil chili, and a one of their breakfast burritos. All were good. The salads were filled with fresh, colorful produce, had plenty of meat, and tasty dressings. Their lentil chili was hot, thick, and chalked full of legumes. The breakfast burrito was stuffed with sausage, eggs, and cheese, and definitely my favorite. They gave me sides of sour cream and salsa that I slathered on before every bite. It's a hearty way to start your day. The cafe and dining room were both spotless. You can tell the employees go to great lengths to keep them clean. The woman at the salad bar is true star. She cranked out bowl after bowl of salad and still managed to engage in friendly chats while customers while they were waiting. I had good experiences every time I visited.

There are other restaurants on campus and nearby that are open for dinner and are also open to the public, no employee badge required to get in the door. There aren't many choices when it comes to organic or vegan options. Restaurants include Noodle Bowl, Acapulco Fresh (Mexican), Lunchbox Laboratory (burgers), MOD Pizza, Post Alley (American) and a couple others. Some are over priced considering the cuisine and location while others are reasonable. Sometimes there are company events that take place outside that are sponsored by and catered by the Commons for employees' families and guests, generally for holidays.

It is on property that was once owned by Safeco until Microsoft bought it. The cafe is located on the ground level of this forward-design building. The offerings at the cafe are rather standard, but not cookie cutter. Here you will find food stations serving burgers, chicken sandwiches/fried chicken, Neapolitan pizza, open faced sandwiches, salads, seafood, soups and teriyaki. Like other cafes on campus, this is a cashless cafe so only card payments and meal balance badge deductions are available. Though the concepts at this cafe aren't as eclectic, I like the food here. The chicken station reminds me of a MS version of Chick-fil-A and the seafood station is a credible on-campus alternative to Ivar's. The food prices here are cheaper or comparable to outside eateries. As for crowds, it didn't seem as busy as other cafes. Perhaps because it is further away from the main part of campus where a large portion of employees work. If you are looking for a less crowded cafe on campus with good food, I would recommend Cafe 83.

The cafe itself is really beautiful and has a second floor, and there's a Chef corner where they make a lot of speciality seafood dishes. I happened to be in the mood for Chinese, and I realized that Facing East, the store that closed in Downtown Bellevue, now has a stall in here, albeit with a more simplified menu. What a surprise! I also bought their bubble tea and it was a great addition to the meal. Felt very balanced, refreshing, and familiar. Good place to come especially considering it's at work.
