Bed was comfy and warm. Windows opened into outdoors no screen one pane. Window couch was nice. Good plant vine in entrance adding to the home aura. Customer service was good. Vending could have had more options. Water machine did not work. Loud ice. Decent price. No elevator. Potential toothpaste in remote casing. 1-ply tissues. Bar soap was hard to open. Nice desk lights. No breakfast open at 4;50.

It's a terrible place to stay. It smells of cigarette smoke in the rooms, even though there is a no smoking policy. There seems to be little to no pride of ownership in this place, given the upkeep. Our door would hardly open into the bathroom because the tiles were cracked and offset on the floor, hole in the door that was "patched" by laminent of a different color, vent fan was exposed and the shower head was hanging pretty poorly on the wall. I wish I could give 0/5, but I can't. Don't stay here.

Our bed is uncomfortable and sinks! Room smelled like cigarettes the moment we walked in. It is SUPPOSED to be non-smoking. The toilet ia really close to the counter in the bathroom too. Never again! I think it's unprofessional how this company doesn't respond to anyone's reviews.

Found bed bugs in my room. Showed the clerk the pictures when I left the room. Called Priceline to get room cancelled as I was planning on there there for work the next week. They called manager. Manger tell them no bud bugs in their hotel. A pic is worth a thousand words.

    Windows are painted over!

I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Dayton. I didn't give higher stars because, while I loved the room layout and overall comfort, it needed some attention. I was greeted by a big dead bug just inside the door, that wasn't a pleasant welcoming party. The toilet seat was loose and moved around when you sat on it, something I would assume housekeeping should notice when cleaning it - I certainly noticed it before I even sat down. The leather (vinyl?) couch was also dirty. We tend to wipe down our rooms and were surprised at the amount of dirt on the dark colored (brownish) couch - so it seems they do not wipe them off too often. I also hoped that being a lifetime platinum elite I would have gotten a room where I could overlook the ballpark. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Nevertheless, this hotel is a gem in the Gem City, and with a little more attention to the cleaning details can easily be 4 or 5 stars!

First of all, the toilet didn't flush correctly, it ran continuously. Secondly, the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. After only two people showering, the entire room/walls were wet from the steam. It was crazy. Then, the smoke detector was chirping because it needed a battery change. Luckily this issue was resolved before it was time to go to sleep. Finally, and maybe I'm asking too much with this last complaint, but most hotels recently have a full size/newer hair dryer. This one was the super old school teeny tiny dryer that couldn't even dry my thin hair. It shouldn't cost too much to upgrade these and it would be much appreciated. Positives: The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly! Oh yeah- I agree with the review below about the pool being WAY over chlorinated. It was like swimming in Salt Water!

Perfectly nice low/mid priced hotel a little south of Dayton…read more SpringHill suites offer rooms larger than the typical Marriott -- so there's a little seating area and desk to go along with the bed and bathroom. Clean and comfortable. We made a request for foam pillows (allergies) which the front desk team accommodated without issue. Virtually everyone we encountered from the hotel was super friendly. Breakfast included -- it was pretty well picked over by the time we made it, but was a standard breakfast-inclusive hotel buffet of eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, a variety of breads, fruit, juice, and coffee. Won't win any Michelin stars, but again, just fine. I'll add that the team working the dining room were absolutely wonderful -- super polite and super service oriented. There's also a little convenience store with some snacks and essentials next to the front desk, but no bar or restaurant. It's near a strip of local and chain/franchise outlets of every type imaginable, so there are ample options nearby. "Fitness center" is pretty sparse -- two treadmills, an elliptical, and a set of free weights with no bench on which to use them. Never saw anyone in it -- and since I'm a biker, went elsewhere to work out. Pool was a family recreation pool, so not appropriate for swimming laps (nor was it represented as a lap pool...) Only real criticism has to do with housekeeping knocking on doors at 7:30 on Saturday morning (!) -- imagine the hotel was full as it appears to host sports teams on the weekends, so the housekeeping folks had a long list of rooms to service...but that was pretty early in the am... Second time we've stayed here in as many years of visiting (for college sports). Again, not going to win any awards for best hotels in the world, but a perfectly nice place to stay at the price point.

The location is great (and the only reason they aren't getting one star), but beware of the entrance if your car sits low. Once in the room, we noticed it was stuffy and warm. That's not super uncommon when first getting to a hotel, so we adjusted the thermostat and tried to relax. The next day, we found out our air wasn't working after I received an email stating our dog was barking all day. Turns out, she was overheated. We ended up having to take our dog with us apartment hunting all week because it was getting so hot in there and it was safer to keep her in the car. The thermostat was reading 77+ most of the time we were there. It was set on 59 and the fan on auto per the front desk's direction. An employee was sent up to our room to check the settings and left a note assuring us it should work. The image I attached is from after the employee was in our room. My husband has several other images of it ranging from other temps. We had the shades closed and everything, the high temperature outside barely reached 70. Our thermostat consistently remained above 75. We slept without blankets because we were sweating. I couldn't dry my hair after a shower because it was so hot. Additionally, we were without hot water for 5 hours on Wednesday. We couldn't shower or wash our hands unless we wanted ice cold water. No communication either! My mom came to visit for a few days and ended up calling the front desk to let them know we didn't have hot water. If she never called, we wouldn't have known anything! All they said was "well nobody has hot water right now" ?????? Yeah, because that makes it okay! The employees were also less than satisfactory - The employee on nightshift the beginning of the week was visibly bothered anytime we went downstairs, and even when we checked in. It seemed he was annoyed that he couldn't sit and watch tv! Given all of this, upon checkout, all I got was a "so sorry about that". $750 for the WORST hotel experience. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else.

Breakfast: they have all the standard items, and do get very crowded on certain days and time. Downstairs bar: rarely open, very inconvenient Front desk staff: friendly, professional and efficient Housekeeping: horrible, except the Sunday crew. We stayed here from Saturday- Tuesday July 5-9, on the 5th floor, the only day we received adequate housekeeping service was on Sunday, all the other days we came back to the hotel room, after 5pm, either the room was not cleaned OR the floor was not vacuumed , beds were covered up without underneath sheets were straighten or clean at all. See pictures, that's the bed after it was supposed to be made. I believe the hotel management do have all the necessary information to figure out who needs to be retrained on their job duties. Room: spacious, but...the air conditioning was super loud, even after we lowered it to the lowest level, it is still loud. Had to turn it off at times to get some rest . Body wash run out after 1 day staying, and I guess the hotel probably run out of the wall mount bottles so they gave us 2 small travel size bottles . No body lotion, had to ask for it. Amenities: there is a gym and pool on the first floor, small but good enough Location: convenient, next to shopping centers, restaurants and movie theater. Parking was easy. Next time when I am in the area, not sure if I will stay here, to risk for another unpleasant stay. Do recommend management emphasize on housekeeping qualities, since it is a crucial element when running a hotel.
