Great little bar. Had pool, cheap drinks, and friendly staff. Not a big bar but a nice place to stop into occasionally.

I quite liked this place. I was visiting the area from out of town and someone recommended this…read moreplace, particularly the steaks, and since it was near my hotel, I decided to give it a go. I really liked that they have this big drop down screen that converts the bar area into a sort of covered patio area that lets the breeze in while the fans do their thing. It turns this sports vibe type place into a more at home type backyard bbq with friends type feel. I really liked that. It felt like a tgifridays at first but the patio-ish area makes it stand out from other chains like that. Maybe it was the fact that I had been traveling all day and had barely eaten, or that I had a killer blood-sugar dropping headache, but I thought the food was killer. I ordered the steak and dozen fried shrimp combo which came with 20 shrimp. Awesome! I ordered the broccoli and mashed potatoes with gravy and everything was awesome. I loved the butter on the steak, made everything just taste rich and delicious because you had better believe I do not cook with that much butter at my house. But for a special treat while traveling, it was delicious. The shrimp were perfectly fried and some of them were rubbing up against the butter so thy were delicious too. I ate them first so they didn't have time to get soggy. The mashed potatoes were red potatoes with just the perfect amount of skin still on and chunks still in it and I loved the gravy. And the broccoli was also delicious, also cooked with butter and not just boring and bland. Definitely not the healthiest of meals considering, but not the worst option either. Definitely couldn't eat here all the time without my waist complaining, but I was very happy and so was my belly and head. The service was pretty nice too, the people were all lovely. I will definitely be back when I have been really good and deserve a cheat day, there is a ton more stuff on the menu I want to try.

I had previously really liked the Pool Bar Restaurant, but after my experience there yesterday, I…read moredon't think I will ever eat there again. I ordered the Cobb Salad. It arrived looking wonderful with nice chunks of turkey. I took a bite and also got some avocado that was very overripe. Took another bite, same thing, and then I realized there was no avocado! The turkey was as soft and mushy as an overripe avocado... it was absolutely disgusting and sickening! The server brought me a new salad made with chicken, instead of turkey & said the manager had been shown my salad. The manager did not bother to come speak with me. I was still upset and worried that I would be getting sick from the turkey, & called today to speak to the manager. He acknowledged that he should have come to the table & claimed there had been nothing wrong with the turkey beyond it had been sitting too long in brine.... I cannot imagine how many days sitting in brine it took to turn chunks of turkey breast into literal mush.

Drove over 30 minutes to try the BOGO burgers. Not sure it was worth the trip…read more I always assume "specials" are priced low (for what you get) to draw people in to try the place. There was just no wow factor in these burgers. Swiss muchroom burger had good flavor, but the burger itself was very small. They tried to hide it in an over sized bun. The bourbon burger had a funny taste, but same small burger. The coldslaw was a joke. Came in a plastic cup, with a lid and the cup was probably 1/3 of a measuring cup. TINY. The special drew me in, but it did not make a repeat customer out of me. $16 for one burger (out of the BOGO timing) is way over priced.

After a much needed haircut from my barber, Ramon, (highly recommend Trinity Barber Shop), my wife…read moreand I headed out to Mi Tierra for a late lunch. Ever since we returned from a trip to Peru and Ecuador to explore Machu Picchu and The Galapagos, we take every opportunity to sample Peruvian cuisine. When I saw Mi Tierra in one of those Facebook ads (I guess they work), we made plans to try it out. Located off highway 484 by the busy intersection with I-75, traffic always seems to be crazy here with never ending construction. When we entered, we were seated in a booth and didn't realize they offered lunch specials (until 3 PM M-F) until we opened the menus. My wife and I ordered off the lunch special menu. She had the Arroz Chaufa ($11.99) and I ordered the Lomo Saltado ($13.99). We were also served chips and salsa while waiting for our meals. We both just had water. The tortillas chips were served warm. They were airy and crispy. The salsa was good but wished there was more of it...a bit chintzy on the salsa. My wife's arroz chaufa was quite good with savory soy sauce flavor and slight smokiness to it. My Lomo saltado was decent. The cut of meat was not the best and it lacked that distinctive smoky flavor we've gotten used to from meals we ate while in Peru. I've had better...but for $13.99, it's pretty good. Good flavors and good value. Service was OK with our lone server doing multiple tasks from bartending, taking orders, and cleaning tables...and watching the World Cup. Lunch for 2 came out to just over $33 with tip.
