I called the customer care to inquire if they took our insurance or not and they refused to answer my question because I was not the primal patient. It's a general question not specifically related to a person. What sort of scam are they running at this place? Or is the office staff completely nonsensical?

They asked about allergies and I made sure to tell them I am allergic to two antibiotics. They put me in a room and the doctor was in within 10 minutes. She talked to me for maybe two minutes, rushed out again, and rushed back in with a prescription. She only mentioned the brand name to me. I got to the pharmacy and they informed me that the brand name was amoxicillin, which I am allergic to. By that time the doctor's office was already closed. I called them again in the morning to ask if they could fax another prescription to the pharmacy for me, and the nurse took the message. The doctor did not call back for two days. In brief, the staff, including the doctor I saw, were friendly but in too much of a hurry, causing them to make mistakes.

The receptionist was friendly and entered me as a new patient quickly. They had quality face masks readily available at the window. After about 10mins the nurse came and got me. She was very pleasant and ran all of my vitals / updated my chart quickly. The xray tech came in after just a couple of minutes and took my images. The provider was in about 5 minutes later. During the whole visit I probably only sat waiting on someone a total of 15-20mins from start to finish... which is unheard of for an urgent care in my opinion. The provider was down to earth and addressed all my concerns without rushing me. They were very thorough in all of their exams to rule out major concerns and I left with a clear plan, meds ordered, and ease of mind. I will certainly revisit this location should an emergent need come up again.

Knowing I probably needed another opinion, I went to Graystone several days later and was treated by an amazing physician who found 4 total fragments lodged in my eye!. 2 larger pieces and 2 smaller ones offset from the center of my eye..I was told by the attending specialist he couldn't believe someone couldn't see the metal because it was so large in terms of objects in the eye, and could be visibly seen by basic observation. Not only was I carelessly cleared by Paul the P.A., but I also called to report the incident after my procedure at Graystone, and was told by AFC management, they would review the matter, and I would receive a phone call in a few days to find resolution for this issue.. Guess who is still waiting for that call a month later? You guessed it, I did!..I wouldn't recommend anyone taking their loved ones here and would most certainly advise against going to the facility if it is at all possible! Best of Luck to All!

After being taken back, my temperature and blood pressure were checked and I was told they wanted to do flu and COVID tests. The nurse performed both swabs in the same nostril at the same time, and they were done very quickly and did not seem thorough. After that, I was told another staff member would be in shortly, but no one came. I waited alone in the room for about 30 minutes with no updates. When I stepped out to ask how much longer the test would take, the response I received felt dismissive and unprofessional. When someone finally returned, the exam was very brief. A flashlight was shined in my ears, I was asked how much Tylenol I was taking, and I was told to take more and buy Sudafed. No clear diagnosis was given. After spending over an hour there with minimal evaluation, I decided to leave and went to another urgent care in Blowing Rock. At that clinic, I received a thorough evaluation, was diagnosed with a sinus infection, and was prescribed an antibiotic and steroid, which addressed my symptoms. I understand urgent cares can be busy, but the lack of communication, limited exam, and dismissive attitude made this experience very frustrating and concerning. Do not recommend.

As of this writing, the facility is refusing to provide an interpreter for a Deaf patient. They say…read morethey don't "do that." We explained that they are in violation of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The person we spoke to on the phone refused accommodations and said we'd have to talk to the main office in the morning. That's unacceptable in an urgent care situation. The person who runs their Facebook page has said they are working on it and that we should contact their COO. We will look for resolution in the morning. ADA violations are a matter of Federal law, not choice. Refusal of appropriate care for people with disabilities is shameful. UPDATE: After two more calls in the morning and speaking to someone in another location, the provider finally agreed to provide an interpreter. The patient was very happy with the skill level of the interpreter who worked the appointment. It is good that it worked out. However, no patient should be put through this kind of or ordeal or suffer such poor customer service when simply trying to secure mandated communication access.
