"Tasty tacos and pupusas". I seriously don't remember the last time I had a pupusa. These were made…read morefresh and served piping hot. I received 3 of them and could only eat about 1.5. The carne asada taco was okay, too many onions for me, but still quite tasty. Some would probably be intimidated to eat here because it is a run-down food truck located next to a gas station near the Home Depot of Coursey & Cedarcrest. The service was friendly and fast. Eating there is not really recommended because there are just folding chairs, no tables. I would say the food was pretty authentic and I plan on going back, especially for those yummy pupusas. This might not be your first choice, but at least make it a choice; step out of your box and try something new!

I'm giving it 5 starts for the quality of the food only. I've traveled all over Mexico and these…read moreare the best carne asada and grilled chicken tacos I have ever had. Everyone has heard about my deep rooted love and obsession for tacos and food stands, so I wanted everyone else in Baton Rouge to find out about this gem of a shady but delicious food truck! The meat is charred crispy to perfection, without being dry. The doubled-up HANDMADE a corn tortillas are definitely the best tortillas I have ever tasted. (Hmm, wonder if I can get a whole pack to go?!) The pupusas are delicious too, and come topped with a pickled cabbage. My friend did order the pork tacos, thinking it was carnitas, but it was actually chicharrones (pork rind) and we didn't like that one so much. I TOLD her to let me order for her in Spanish, but she insisted on the pork before I had the chance to people rly ask WHAT type of pork...... And yes, it's best to order in Spanish. Just say "taco de carne asada" (beef steak) and "taco de pollo" (chicken) and how may and you should be set. I usually order 3. They are small but very filling. I could literally eat these everyday. There are 2-3 chairs to sit out at while waiting for your order, and the wait time is 4-8mins or so depending on how much you order but it's so worth it. They even give salsa to go. Ladies, please wear your wedding rings (or a fake one while you order) because there will most likely have a plethora of men ordering authentic Mexican food, waiting to propose to any unsuspecting lady who just wants to get her foodporn on and immediately dash to the comfort of their own home to indulge in these tasty treats. It is parked at the gas station near the Home Depot on Cedarcrest & Coursey. Coming from bluebonnet (with the CCs coffee house on your left) you will cross over working onto Coursey, and it's the second gas station on the right. If you're in the Home Depot parking lot, the gas station is directly in front of the store.

We went to opening day of Elisa's Cuban sit down location (on Sherwood)…read moreWe had eaten at their food truck and were super excited to try the sit down It did not disappoint!!!! Oh my goodness I cannot wait to go back and try everything I had the picadiilo. Amazing!!! The black beans have a delicious flavor, almost smoky. The rice is cooked perfectly. And the sweet plantains are a great pairing. My husband ordered the chicken cordon blue. It came with chickpeas and tostones. All of it was very delicious. The chicken was so flavorful and that crust was great! We ordered the churros for dessert. I will go back, just for this. I needed coffee to go with it but was so focused i didn't even think about it until it was gone Crunchy, but soft, fried perfectly. The filling was perfect. Def order these!!!! I hope they see huge success the service is top notch and the food will have you moaning and wanting more

The food truck was sold along with the name and is now a cute diner located 2627 S. Sherwood Forest…read moreBlvd. Service is good. Place is super clean. Was about 80% full Staff was efficient and food was prepared quickly but if you were expecting the old Elisa's Cuban, this wasn't it. First of all, it's not real Cuban bread. It has to be real Cuban bread not French bread pressed like a Cuban. There were only 2 slices of meat- one ham, one pork and one slice of cheese. Barely a taste of pickle or mustard The sandwich was on what appeared to be 6" French bread roll and toasted on a grill instead of a panini press. The fries were thick and on the soggy side. We did get take out but no more than 6 minutes from the restaurant. The food truck had it right. Cuban bread w/generous helping of meat, cheese and pickles and crisp shoestring fries and you could comfortably share a sandwich. Had I known I would have ordered more food but quantity wouldn't have changed quality. Definitely needs work. Another con for me is you can't grab a cold beer sling with your food but we ordered take out so It didn't matter. I realize they are new but they should have realized they had some great expectations to fulfill when they took over the name. Two Cuban sandwiches cost $28 and change. I would have done better at Subway. Still searching for the perfect Cuban in Baton Rouge. If you decide to eat in the dining room there is good parking. It is a family restaurant. On a holiday Monday at lunch it was on the noisy side which is to be expected.
