The fried pickles were too salty but otherwise good. The fries weren't hot as I would have liked but I loved how thick and good flavor they were. My husband liked the tots. My son said the loaded fries were amazing. The strawberry shake was good and thick. I went for the first time today and it was so so yummy to me but immediately after I felt the rush in my belly of something horrendous and had to evacuate my stomach immediately. Several hours later. I'm at home with my partner. Who also dined with me. And we are occupying both bathrooms pissing out of my ass. I'm not sure if it was cross contamination from chicken to burger, dirty hands/environment, or if it was bad meat. But I am never dining here again despite the atmosphere and taste. Talked to some managers and all and they told me there was nothing they could do. But now I'm sitting with a $20 burger that I can't eat because the bread was soggy from sitting on the counter for 15-20 minutes after it was ready. I've been going here since I was young and this is one of the best places to go in Baton Rouge. Not only is it super nostalgic for me but it's a great place for kids to run around and have fun, the occasional live music is great to listen to while eating and drinking their incredible food outside. This year we got ghosted by everyone from outside our employer but about eight of us from work ate here. The others missed out. Curbside is an order at the counter and have your food brought to you kind of place. While there is indoor seating, outside is where you want to be. We normally sit around the corner under the little pavilion. There is a long table that will hold ten or so. The burgers are pretty good and there are so many different varieties to choose from. I usually stick with the shroomin which as you can imagine, has mushrooms. Don't expect some massively thick hand formed patty but do expect a good burger. Curbside Burgers is a great place to get a burger, and it has a great location right in the middle of the revitalized Government Street Arts and Entertainment District! It's located right by the historical Calandro's Supermarket and shares a parking lot with this store. There's extra parking just west of Calandro's as well. For those not familiar with the evolution of Curbside, they started out as a food truck, a portion of which is now part of their interior decorations. They eventually found their new home in their current location and built a restaurant that has both great interior and exterior spaces. Their exterior courtyard is excellent with plenty of seating and even a stage for live music. The interior has overhead doors that can be opened in good weather to combine the two areas. The menu is burger-based, as one would expect. There's lots of creativity in the selections. There's the KGB Burger, which has praline bacon, a fried egg, and sharp cheddar cheese. There's turkey burgers, lamb burgers, basic burgers, or you can build your own. There's usually a burger special that is different and delicious. These can be had with fries or tater tots. All is as it should be! They also do milkshakes and root-beer floats. One can even have a boozy shake if one wants. They also have a full bar and lots of beers for those that wish to drink. A great spot for a good, juicy burger! Right on government street, Curbside has such a great atmosphere! I feel a little retro when I done here lol, but the inside is nice and big and there is an outside area where you can sit and bring your dog. You order your food at the counter, and it comes to your table in a reasonable amount of time. I always get a classic burger with cheese and a side of tots... they don't come together you have to order them separately, but they are worth it! The burger is always on point and the tots are always crispy on the outside, just how I like them. Dude. Tater tots and alcohol shakes. What a business plan! Fortunately, for my waist I have only been here once, but the food was quite decent. Not at all greasy, burgers were not over cooked. Somehow the tots stay relatively crispy in spite of all the toppings. This is definitely a family place. But due to the large outside space it takes a lot for it to get crowded. A delicious restaurant with a great atmosphere! I got to curbside at 7:30 on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised that it was not crowded at all! They even had live music being played by a local band which added an extra plus to the already nice outdoor area. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with a side of friend pickles and a fountain drink. The spicy chicken was not too spicy which I enjoyed and the buns have a nice butter layer on the outside of them which made it soft and sweet. The fried pickles were also delicious. Came across this spot on Instagram a few weeks ago and decided to drive out and check them out. I'd give it a 5 out of 5 for the service and the ambiance I loved it. Now the food was ok we couldn't decided on a couple things so we tried two different burgers and the chicken sandwich which had to be my favorite and also the boneless wings in two different flavors. Out of everything the chicken sandwich was the best as far as the wings I had high hopes for the Nashville hot and the Korean bbq but I wasn't a big fan and the fries were hand cut which was a plus!! I don't really care for burgers but the Smokin Joe(L) was one of the best restaurants burgers I've every had. The smoke sauce on it makes it pop, and you can taste it in every bit. The onion rings were also a great compliment The other burger, The Barbie Burger, always was good. The cashier let us taste the pork belly preserve and the roasted poblano Mayo. The preserve allow was strong and salty but on the burger it compliments everything well. The Roasted poblano Mayo tasted like regular Mayo The sides, tots and fries, were nothing spicy. Just add your own salt. They have spicy ketchup as well. Way spicier than Whataburger's so I recommend. The chocolate chip cookie was also great and soft and they bake them in house. Knocking off a star from my previous review. Tempted to knock off two stars. Atmosphere- five stars all day Service - two stars (maybe that poor girl at the register was new?) Food - maybe three stars. Maybe. Outdoor picnic style dining is really great (when the weather is good). I ordered "The Veggie," she rang up the "JJ Feel Good." When I corrected her and said I wanted The Veggie, she insisted that the JJ Feel Good was a veggie burger. No. It's a turkey burger. After calling over two other people, they finally got it right. When I asked for a roasted tomato, she had a complete blank look. I pointed it out on the menu, but she was clueless about what to do with that information. So, we weathered through and got our food. And not the stellar food you'd expect of such a popular place. Maybe I'm too picky. Okay, yes, I admit I am a tough customer to please. There just wasn't much good to talk about here. Fried pickles were lukewarm and tasted like they were fried in three-day old oil. The Veggie is a burger made with impossible beef. My first time trying that, so maybe it's normal for it to be an overcooked, dried out puck. Mmm...not a good look. And those roasted tomatoes? Yeah - don't waste an extra dollar there. Three tiny little shriveled up bits that added nothing to the flavor. And the side salad - really a bowl of iceberg lettuce that wasn't chopped well (nearly a wedge salad). My daughter had a Barbie burger (supposedly with pork belly preserves and poblano mayo). It pretty much just tasted like liquid smoke. This former food truck is now a brick and mortar near Doe's and it was a tough decision on where to eat on a recent trip to BR. I didn't want a 3lb steak, so I came here. I ordered the Barbie Burger. Dont usually get specialty burgers, but this one looked awesome on Yelp and it ended up tasting awesome too. The pork belly preserve, or PBP as they call it, really takes this burger to a new level as other reviewers indicated. I added lettuce, tomato and subbed the American for cheddar. I couldn't taste the poblano peppers in the mayo, but thats fine, it was already a flavor explosion on its own. I ordered a side of fresh cut fries and a chocolate shake. Although they rang up a strawberry shake. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they forgot to make my milkshake and I had to remind them at the end of my meal. They weren't even busy either. So I had to deduct a star. The interior reminds me a little of Slim Chickens. Although they have a shorter ceiling and an added bar and milkshake prep area. I had been wanting to try this place for a while, but never did. The service was quite fast, you go up and order at the counter and they bring your food to you. We got the smokin' joe and a side of truffle fries. The burgers were absolutely delicious!! I was pretty impressed, I haven't had too many burgers in Baton Rouge, but I'd probably say these are my favorite, in BR at least. The truffle fries were amazing.
