He enjoyed the kids library section. They have some neat in the wall seating for kids to read. They also have a large wooden ' café' for kids to play at. They had a good amount of books for children. The library was very busy on a Saturday later afternoon. I walked throughout the rest of the library to check it out and they have a good selection of books in the teens and adult areas. They also had a cooking room and also other meeting room rooms. It appeared to be a possible cooking lesson going on at the time we were there. They have a variety of comfortable and modern seating arrangements throughout the whole entire library. They also had a huge window area looking out on natural Prairie area that I believe might have hiking trails around it. We do not have library cards with this system so we didn't check anything out, but we did read books to our grandson while we were there. Everyone seemed to be getting good service from the librarians at the area as they were stationed. The library is a valuable resource for all the community members because of all the free resources that one can use. This library was new and modern. I do think the bathrooms could've been cleaned a little bit better or maybe more often.

The libraries I grew up visiting had 90s flair, and while amazing spaces that kept me entertained all summer long, they didn't have the grandeur of an iconic inner city library - like this one. The first time I stepped foot in here as a young adult I was in awe. It's just a gorgeous building, and incredible atmosphere to sit and read. The parking garage is set up to look like a bookshelf which I think is cute, and I love how you can just get lost in here and enjoy the space. It just FEELS like a library which sounds dumb but is true. What pushes this into five star territory for me though is the rooftop terrace. On a nice day there really isn't a better spot for an urban picnic.

The south wing attached only by covered walkway and separated by a large courtyard houses event space for regularly scheduled readings and lectures. With gardens, wetlands and trails covering the remaining acreage and connecting it to the neighborhoods and elementary school nearby. Stunning inside and out and looks similar to a presidential museum and library in it's grandiose setting with historic brick and modern stone structures juxtaposed. Imagine my shock at finding out this small town had a library! This is a very nice library, as well. It is very well stocked and, apparently, part of the Kansas City, Missouri library system. I am a Kansas resident so I could not get a library card but no matter. I enjoyed the atmosphere very much. They have a very wide selection at the Mid-Continent Public Library. They had a vast collection of materials. They also have inter-library loan programs through their system. A patron would not want for materials of all kinds at this library. They had all different types of media available for use or check out. This is a terrific resource. The tables and study desks were very comfortable and no one seemed bothered that I camped out here for a day. This was a nice, quiet place to study and reflect. Riverside is lucky to have this establishment. I did not interact much with staff on my visit but they seemed nice and pleasant. They also seemed happy which is always something I look for in employees. They helped a great number of people and were always busy. Parking and access were easy, too. There is a huge private lot in front of the library so no worries. This is also an easy access library. It's nice to be hassle free when visiting. Great library, large collections and comfortable areas.

Today's was the screening of one of the most fascinating (and humorous) films I've ever watched, "From Fossils to Flesh," about the the development and creation of incredibly detailed life-sized sculptures of dinosaurs for the Edelman Fossil Park & Museum of Rowan University in New Jersey. All of the creatures were brought to life in the studio of world-renowned Paleoartist, Naturalist, Maker, Sculptural artist, Gary Staab, in Kearney, Missouri. I highly recommend googling The Linda Hall Library to check out their many FREE offerings, and you'll not only be enticed to attend, but you might also want to sit down and read from the vast collection of historic and modern books and publications in this renowned science library!

What a fantastic library!…read more I've been wanting to come to the Life Beyond Earth exhibition since it opened in October 2024. I got here near the end of April in 2025. It closes in June. Glad I made it! This exhibition does a great job of covering a lot about outer space, including, but not limited to, aliens, exoplanets, UFOs, astrobiology and exobiology. There are various displays throughout the rooms covering astronomy, the history of observation of space from the Renaissance, all the way up to the Tic Tac and Gimble UAPs. There's also a very nice display about historical cookbooks and different recipes used early in the 20th century and by various branches of the US military to feed their troops. Everyone working here was very kind and welcoming. There is free parking directly in front of the library for patrons, not for students. Just FYI, the Linda Hall Library is on the campus of UMKC.

The childrens section is wonderful with story time, crafts, summer reading program ect. All the people there have been wonderful!! Wondering if the almost 2 year old was being disrespectful to other patrons in library?? It is a library and certain rules do pertain even in the childrens area. It is not a playground or babysitting area. Hope everyone gives it a try and finds out for theirselves how wonderful this library can be.
