I had signed up hoping to get a failed crown replaced. I left with a temporary crown and when the permanent crown is delivered , it will be installed, averting a potential dental disaster. 1 Star for the complete incompetence-…read more After checking with Humana and finding a provider through the Humana website I decided to claim 4th Street Dental Group as my place of provider and Dr.Kosydar as my actual dentist. This was after the 5th call to Dr. Kosydar's office - confirming that they accept the Humana HMO. I switched during the insurance 'open enrollment' period and called yesterday to make an appointment (new patient). That is when the story changed and the receptionist/office manager explained to me that they are no longer taking that insurance or any HMO's. She explained that she told Humana but they haven't taken them off of the website yet. In hind site, I would like to thank the office manager for not staying on top of her duties as I've Googled a couple of other reviews and I'm positive I wouldn't want to go to Dr. Kosydar anyway. My recommendation is to go to a dentist that provides the services that they advertise.

He calmed my nerves and very pleasant with his procedures by describing what he was going to do VERY CALMING. After the procedure, my tooth got better and no more pain. I recommend Dr. Spilman for a quality dental experience. The staff was very assuring, professional and caring. I really liked the secretary he had when I first started with him... she left and he hired another. I personally did not think he would have success hiring not one but TWO great office people but he managed it. I walk in.. I don't have to sign in but I would if I had to and I'm greeted within minutes. I call and I'm not just a name. I get in and out.... none of this waiting around to be seen making you think that maybe somebody is double booking. And how many dentists would not hesitate to submit a design for a crown? From the moment you walk in, you feel that this practice genuinely cares about people--not just teeth. I was first introduced to Clearwater Family Dental when I brought my mother (75, living with dementia) and my 95-year-old stepfather. The entire team made them feel safe, respected, and comfortable, and both were extremely pleased with their extractions and updated dentures. That experience alone spoke volumes. After that, I decided to become a patient myself--and I'm so grateful I did. My experience here has been night and day compared to previous dental offices. The attention to detail, education, patience, and skill of Certified Registered Dental Hygienist Nicole Osika was exceptional. As a caregiver, I had admittedly neglected my own dental care, and she truly had her work cut out for her. Barb, Maria and Jasmine at the front desk, Dr. Birch's assistant, Eva, who did all my x-rays, and Michelle who cleaned my teeth, and even offered me a blanket when I mentioned being a little chilly, all lovely! It didn't fit and the teeth were not set properly. The upper fell out of my mouth. When I told him this was not acceptable, he walked out. He didn't return. I gave a second chance for another try ( since I was stuck for needing new teeth). Another year has passed. This was worse. They never fixed the top ( tryin) as it again fell out and to make matters worse, they never bothered to even do a bottom fit and placed the wax try from a year ago in my mouth. I thought the money I paid up front was a down payment ( pretty hefty). They refuse to refund..they even said no matter how sick you are, you will NEVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK. I correspond in writing, and they gaslight me. Florida does not protect we consumers and it appears businesses can get away with this kind of fraud. I read people try small claims and he shows up with an attorney. BEWARE. I have much more info about this business. I shared how I felt and crickets from them. Clearly my wishes, concerns and mental health is of no concern. I wanted a beautiful smile and was willing to pay but now they have my money and I have no smile as my old denture does not function any longer. I am not alone. You must dig deep but other victims are out there.
