Today I went to Dr. Larisa Kushnir for the first time (at her office at 275 96th Ave N) for a root canal on #14. It was an excellent experience! I would highly recommend Dr. Kushnir and would definitely return if another need arise. The patience, professionalism and empathy of the entire staff from front-desk to her assistant, Henny, to Dr. Kushnir herself was extraordinary. I am always extremely anxious about any kind of dental work, but she explained what she was doing every step of the way which helped me greatly! Thank you Dr. Kushnir and the entire staff at 275 96th Ave N! You helped me, not just by doing a great root canal, but you got me through what is usually a pretty stressful time more than you can imagine. My overall experience was very good. Melita explained everything and the dental tech/assistant was great. My one complaint is payment. I am sitting in the chair waiting for the Novocain to kick in and the lady from the front office comes in and tells me how much the visit will be and would i like her to hand me my wallet so she can run my credit card. Really??!! Could you not wait until the procedure is done and then settle up before I leave? It was very off-putting and rude in my opinion. read more

I rarely leave reviews but my visit today definitely earned one! I had to go in for a root canal and although I've unfortunately had a lot of work done on my teeth before, I still get nervous because I have a condition that makes my teeth extra sensitive. From the beginning, Dr. Mayer did everything possible to make me feel comfortable, kept me well informed on what would be happening, took all of my concerns into consideration, and asked multiple times if I had any questions. On top of that, him and the whole team were all very friendly. I've seen many dentists throughout my life (some good and some bad) for a variety of reasons due to my condition. I can confidently say that I would recommend Dr. Mayer to anyone and will definitely go back to him if I ever need another root canal in the future! read more

I developed a bad toothache overnight, and unfortunately, my regular dentist was out of town. I talked to his receptionist, and she told me, as I described my symptoms, that I would most likely need a root canal. I went to Yelp and Nextdoor to read reviews, and based on those, called Bayside. Ashley, who answered my call, was very pleasant, and explained services and payment. I explained I did not have dental insurance; she told me with my "discount" it would be $ 1100 (from $ 1355). She was able to get me in that afternoon. I was taken back to the exam room - Yolanda was the tech - very pleasant and helpful. Took xrays, and asked if the Pandora channel on the tv was ok or if I wanted another channel. Dr. Jacqueline Vineyard came in and introduced herself. She is a UF grad (Go Gators!), explained the proceedure and answered all my questions. She did a physical exam and confirmed that the nerve was dead and I did need a root canal. During the proceedure they were both reassuring, and Dr. V. explained exactly what she was doing...It took about 90 minutes ...I was given post-proceedure instructions, and got a phone call the next morning checking on me. PS...Dr. Vineyard looks to be about 15, but she was excellent!! read more

Amazing!!! would give 10 stars if I could. The entire staff are so wonderful, professional but warm and caring at same time. They go above and beyond for their patients every step of the way. From the moment you walk in the door its a 5 star experience. Ultra clean, warm and inviting. The salt water aquarium in the lobby is well established and an unexpected treat that calmed my nerves and eased the knot in my stomach. I had to have a 4 channel root canal on my #2 molar upper right. Dr Melita and Caitlan were exceptional the care, patience, and professionalism were only made more impressive by their warmth and humor. The procedure itself was stellar, zero pain and I mean zero. Did not even feel the injections for the local. Crazy as it may sound but they actually tickled my a few times while scraping out the inside of the tooth while using suction. Only time I've ever had major dental work where I kept laughing during the procedure. I have Tracheal Stenosis a narrowing of my airway that causes me major issues with getting enough air during dental work, have almost drowned just getting cleanings. I had zero issues breathing during this procedure a clear airway the entire time was able to breath normally without any stress. I am extremely grateful of and impressed by the entire staff at Bayside Endodontics and would highly recommend them to anyone needing this specialized dental work. My only regret is that they are not a full service dental practice, they are so far above and beyond any dental practice I have ever been to that it feels like coming home to family when you walk in the door, and makes you sad and miss them when you leave. Had my root canal done in may 2016 & Dr. Mayer was real good. He explained what was going on so made the process better. Also, there was no pain after the procedure or during for that matter. I did have to wait for more than an hour between getting the numbing to kick in & procedure to start. I guess that is normal & required. So far so good :-) read more

I came in today on an emergency from my general dentist. I was in excruciating pain and have been crying all morning. I was able to get in to my general dentist who referred me to Bayside and they were able to get me in within the hour which was so so so nice! I couldn't of been more grateful. Everyone was very friendly when I went to the front desk and they had everything ready for me. The assistant Henny was very friendly and personable and made me feel comfortable from the beginning. Also Dr Mayer was super upfront and honest about everything. He let me know everything he was doing and literally did the quickest easiest root canal I've ever had. And I have had quite a few. I am 20 weeks pregnant so it was a little difficult to get me numb, actually it took more time to get me numb than to do the procedure! LOL but that's because I can't have epinephrine at the moment so I totally understood. When he used all of his tricks and got me numb I swear it was so easy I could've fallen asleep. I already feel 100% better. Thank you so much for seeing me today and making it a great experience. Although I don't want another root canal , I wouldn't mind coming in again. read more

Didn't take my mother's insurance, so they were generous enough to give her a 5% discount. Then AFTER they ran her her card for $1395., I heard the lady at the desk leaving a customer a message that their upcoming procedure was not covered on their insurance, so they would give them a 25% discount. Then I also heard the same lady talking to some one one the phone and she wanted to know how much they are expecting to get to get from the insurance company on another patients procedure. If I were you, I'd call around to find anyone else. If this wasn't an emergency I sure would have!!! read more

Surprising rating being that even thinking of a visit for any dental procedure is torturous for me. Just got back from having a procedure there. Dr. Mayer and the entire staff at Bayside Endodontics was professional to the max!! Customer Service and chair side manner the absolute best I have EVER experienced...(being 63 years, I've experienced quite a bit). I cannot explain how within minutes of sitting in the 'dreaded chair', Dr. Mayer and his assistant, (I did not catch her name), explained my entire procedure, made certain I was comfortable and while performing the services, kept me informed the entire time...and not an inkling of discomfort at any given moment...excellent treatment!! Those that know me well will be shocked about my comments as I rarely post anything about anyone. I expect people to do their jobs and do them well. The team at Bayside Endontics went above and beyond...they have a genuine interest in the well-being of the patient/client; and it shows. Dr. Melita was very straight forward with me, explaining to me what my complications were. She performed really well when administrating the anesthetics (the big shot); of course it hurts, but she did it very well. I build up in my mind this part and she seemed to keep that in mind. She was slow and meticulous to complete part 1 of 2 procedures. Highly recommend her. The front desk staff are little Angels. My first visit I was in a lot of pain. I was pissy and short with them. They still smiled at me and treated me very nicely. I only wished they did standard dentistry; this would be the only place I would ever call my Dentist. read more

I'm highly disappointed with this facility. This place reassured me of a valuable life lesson. Some people join the medical field to help people, others do it for the paycheck. Yes its a beautiful facility, first dental officw ive been in with flat screens in the exams rooms. Which should have been a hint for me. This place is all about the paycheck. When you have a patient that tells you they haven't been eat or sleep for 4 days due to the amount of pain they're in because of a massive abscess and they have already been dealing with the pain for days.. and the doctor says here's antibiotics and pain meds but refuses to help any further because you don't have the money upfront.. even after your dentist vouched for you and your repayment history! He told me "I hope you chose us, but if you don't it won't hurt my feelings". Wow.. thanks for that! He did advise me that pulling it would be cheaper.. MY FRONT TOOTH!!! Yeah, thanks but no thanks!! I work in the health insurance field and I know that any charity work is a tax write off for doctors. But I have never, not paid my debits and my dentist of 12 years even advised them of this. This doc does do charity work but only when it can be publicized; apparently. The sad part is, the procedure took less than an hour to complete and was noted as the worst abscess my dentist had ever seen, but apparently this place thought I should just deal because my pockets wouldn't permit relief. It's a sad day when a doctor CAN help someone and choses not to! Thanks for that! read more

Dr. Meyer is by far the best and most patient Endo I've ever been too. I am not an easy patient and typically come close to a panic attack during any procedure, even with medication. With Dr. Meyer I never felt the least bit stressed or panicked. I've never had such a pleasant experience getting a root canal (I have had 5 prior to this). Thank you to the entire staff!!! read more
