They are very proud of this enormous store / restaurant / hotel and are happy to show it off. The place was originally built to be a concert venue / stadium for their basketball team. I am copying this part of the review from one I read and want to give credit to the author, Crystal G. "Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro shops, was considering buying the venue. Not sure what to do. He made a wager with his friend while fishing . If I catch a fish over 30 pounds I will buy the venue. Later that day he caught a fish more than 30 pounds. The deal was 'on' and the rest is as they say...history!" The place is just magnificent. The showpiece is the giant elevator that goes to the top. There is a cost for this... i12 for each adult. At the top of the pyramid is a breathtaking look out, spectacular restaurants and lodge. There are spectacular views of the Mississippi River, and all of Memphis. I walked around the giant store making sure I did not get lost and could get back to the bus. Along the way I stopped by the largest selection of fishing poles and reals I ever saw. The nice gentleman working the area showed some off and explained the benefits of them. It's one collection of items after another, candy, signs, clothing, boats, the list goes on and on... This place was amazing. I was happy to learn that they are building one close by me on Long Island. Should be a fun place to spend some time. If I make it back I would love to stay in the hotel. Everything in one place. Amazing shopping, restaurants, entertainment and lodging, right in the heart of 'everything Memphis.' How can you run a business and deny people the right to a proper background check and purchase of a gun? Absolutely stupid. Thankfully the Bullfrog store down the road ended up being very helpful and was a much better experience. They were a proper firearms dealer.
