DO NOT GO HERE! I made a 12pm appt for an oil change. I arrived and was offered a free tire rotation.. I couldn't see the harm in accepting. I waited at the site.. two hours went by. The front desk person finally approached me and explained there was an issue with the tire rotation. He said the lug nuts were "swollen" so they had to HAMMER each one off. As a result, I had 20 lug nuts that were deformed and could no longer be of use. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AFTER THE FIRST OR SECOND LUG NUT THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE. To fix it, they were going to have to replace all 20 lug nuts at a cost of $135. The staff member asked me if this was ok.. I replied "I don't really have a choice, do I?" and he said "not really." I had no other option besides saying yes, because my tires were no longer attached to the car. My simple 45 min oil/$90 oil change accumulated to in 3 hours and $200 (without my permission). I will never use this Midas again. read more

People are claiming its better to goto Costco for tires but little do people realize they don't do wheel alignments, This ends up wearing your tire down. I know because I used them once. I came in for new tires and oil change The customer service was excellent and Franco too. It was found out there was an issue and would take longer than expected, They paid for an uber both ways so I could get home. The job was quicker than expected and everything looks great. I will definitely use them again. I recommend them over dealers who gouge you and make you wait long time. read more

I won't be taking anything here again. I was charged about $450, which resulted in an oil change (the only thing that went well), a misdiagnosis of a check engine light (which was not resolved), and a "fuel treatment" that didn't do anything. They also bent my driveshaft and had my car for over a week. They caused more problems than they solved. At least the service advisor was kind and polite. read more

One of the two front desk staff was friendly and helpful, but they came back with a list of over $4,000 in repairs including over $2,000 in suspension work that was later deemed unnecessary by TWO other mechanics . Got the brake work done at another place and saved about $700 from what Midas quoted. Lastly, Midas did not notice a bad rear passenger wheel bearing that was arguably more of a safety issue than the brakes. I will not be going back there again. read more

Desperately needed one single tire fixed because of a flat. I was scrambling to find a spot and came across this Midas location. They patched it up quickly and the guy at the counter said I was good to go, everything was all set and to drive it for a couple of miles and the light will go off. Well, I drove it slow for not even a couple of miles and the psi kept decreasing dramatically and I was stranded on the road yet again. I'm amazed they didn't even hear the air leaking so loudly out of my tire when it was still at the shop. If it was possible to select zero stars, I would have. I have used Midas in the past, and was satisfied with the work. I brought my car in for an exhaust leak. I was told it needed to replace the catalytic converter. This happens with an older car. The catalytic converter was replaced at roughly$1500. a few weeks later - my car developed another exhaust leak - this was due to the old exhaust gasket was used to connect the catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe. (I have the old worn, corroded gasket) I suggest you check what service you ask for is correct. At one time I scheduled an oil change. I was advise it was with synthetic oil, cost at $90. After reviewing oil change work - the cost of the oil change was reduce to $30. FYI- The team at the desk will no advise customers when their are coupons related to their service and will charge you full price. I had been a steady customers - no longer. I came in from out of state on a rainy Saturday. My car had been hit by a piece of debris on 495 and I had woken up to a flat tire that rendered the car undrivable home. A friend put in air and I hobbled down route 27 calling shops and looking for a place to help out with the situation. No one had the time until I called Kenny G at Acton's Midas. He was pleasant on the phone, encouraged me to come on in. I cannot rate this place highly enough. I initially called a local dealer (right down the street!) for my 2007 PT Cruiser that was having some issues with the radiator. I am a single mom and am very mindful of my money as a necessity. When I inquired if there was a payment plan that I could use in the event the cost of service to my car was higher than I could afford, the person from said dealership responded "Yeah, your credit card". Funny, two years ago there WAS a payment procedure. I guess that was tossed out with the customer service. I called then Midas. I was certain the cost was too going to be through the roof and was wrong. It was appropriate, even when they found another problem with my car, the additional costs was something that I could manage. Chris was kind, polite and didn't talk to me the way the guy at the dealership did. Questions are actually encouraged here. Get that! I've always had very satisfactory experiences here even when I don't make timely appointments, as things happen. Probably the most friendly service I've ever had in an automotive shop and knowledgeable, answered all my questions and quickly diagnosed to whether I needed a battery or a starter. There also very considerate about calling back when cars ready, estimates deals etc and didn't try over soliciting assuming im made of money. Also very quick considering Im usually one of the annoying "walk in" customers besides oil changes. The bathrooms are also actually clean, and they don't just have coffee because not everyone drinks coffee. :) Ill always go here for repairs! read more

A very high priced shop. Oil change for any vehicle should not cost more than a dealership. Paid almost $85.00 Wipers are over priced and paid $30 for standard wipers. I would love to support local shops but not at a outrageous price and higher than a dealership. One goes to these shops to save a few dollars at least but if you go here you would end up spending more for simple service requirements Better to go elsewhere.I would not recommend the shop. read more

I am going to mention the price was a little higher, for the hourly rate, and maybe the parts.. but I will still give 4 stars, as I drove to work with white knuckles hearing a new horrid grinding noise as i came down 495. they took me in quickly.. when i had time to drive my care up to them about a mile from my work., they kindly gave me a ride back so i didnt have to walk, because i was so close.. great people, girl at the counter was very nice, and friendly, as was the manager.. my boss recommends them, and they did good work, called to let me know what they found and explained everything to me and answered all my questions. other than having to drop some money today to get it done, i have peace of mind and my care feels safe again. in only a few hours... thanks acton midas read more

I have a pretty crappy car. It started making a pretty loud noise, turned out to be an exhaust issue. I came in, and they fixed it and said it would last about a year. 2 weeks later, I started hearing the same noise, and was pretty frustrated. I asked them if I could come in and have them look at it again, not expecting much. Turns out the exhaust guy took that one day off, and the pipe had broken in another spot, so what they did the first time was fine. The exhaust specialist said he'd fix it for free because the first guy should have caught that it was about to break. This is also about 10 minutes before they're about to close, so they stayed later. I'm very happy with the customer service! read more

Initially I liked this place a lot. Their service is very quick and the waiting time is considerably short. However a couple of things changed my opinions on them completely. They are dishonest. The first bad experience is the transmission fluid change. I went to them for oil change and the technician suggested me to change the transmission fluid. So I asked him to do it for me. About three months later I went for oil change again and this time another technician told me that I should change transmission fluid. So in their mind I should change my transmission fluid every three months. My second bad experience is brake service. I spent over $480 for their LIFETIME warrant brake packages (front pads and rotors). After just over one and half a year, my car was shaking when I pressed the brake. I went to them and they told me it was rear brake's problem and needed almost $400 to fix it. I went to two different service shops and they all told me it was front brake's problem. So I had them fixed at one shop and right now all problems are gone. I would never go back to this place again. read more

I always bring my car to this Midas for oil changes and tires. I recommend calling to make an appointment, rather than just stopping in. They have always done a great job, but the reason for 3 stars is that they are a bit slow. Even with an appointment, it seems to take them a while to get the car in and worked on. I came to Midas last weekend to get new windshield wipers and an oil change. I called ahead and they had several open appointments available that day. The shop was easy to find and they have their own parking. They started working on my car as soon as I got there, even though I was a bit early. The mechanic informed me that one of my brake lights was out and asked if I would like him to fix it. After they were done working on my car, which took about half an hour, the mechanic came in and broke down the bill with me. In total it was $80 for an oil change, a new brake light and new front windshield wipers. It was an all around no-hassle straight-forward experience. This place is good and is usually my default for repairs if I'm in the area. I've had tire rotations, oil changes, various parts replaced (alternators, suspension bits). Good quality work, and at a fair labor rate. All the invoices I've had were fair and reasonable and I think would correspond to "book" hours. Excellent Service too. Wi-Fi in the waiting room if you must wait. The good thing about this place is that it is open on Saturdays as well, turnaround time has been great as well. read more

So, I visited Midas when I had a problem with a tire leak... they handled the problem promptly and appears that they did a good job. The man behind the counter was pleasant. However, when the mechanic drove my car out and got out he was wearing dirty, muddy, oily, greasy boots. As he stepped out of the car he dragged his right foot and it muddied the door. Not the best customer service, because I had to clean the car and this all occurred last winter... Why do i bother to mention it now, well, I stopped by today for an oil change. I had a lot to do and wasn't able to get there any earlier than 1:35, and as I entered I looked and saw they closed at 2:30 - figured I was cutting it close, but they are open according to the door for almost an entire hour. There was a man in the waiting room and a pimply high school kid behind the counter. I walked in and asked for an oil change - the kid said they closed at 2. I was slightly annoyed, I questioned their closing time and the kid chose to ignore it...he only stated that I have a nice day. I noticed when I left that there was one car in the bay, assuming it is the car of the man in the room and there was a man running around.... Not like they were busy. I would have preferred if the kid said they didn't have anyone that could get to it in time, or something other than falsely stating when they closed. I can't go to this place ever, based on principle; two bad experiences with customer service is all you get. It is a shame because it is close to my house but I am sure I can find many other places that will gladly change my oil. read more

I came in for a simple oil change, and was being "up-sold" various items that I did not ask for. I understand they check the whole car out, but when a customer refuses a service, dont keep trying to sell it. I have had great luck with Richard and Mike, but this new owner is horrible. He frightened my wife and children with his "over-friendliness" and he does not know anything about the automotive business. Bring back Rich and the guys! No more of this new stuff. Actually just had my exhaust system replaced, and it took 1 hr instead of the 1.5-2 they said it would take. I didn't see a reduction on the labor estimate (I may have misread), but I did snag a $30 off coupon before I left the house. My car now purrs. I asked for a list of prices for new tires for my car, and the prices are about $150 more than at other places for the same tire. They showed me 70k tires, but my car will be lying in the driveway, with tires up, before I go with 70k/expensive ones. Next stop: Costco Tires. Lower price, no tax. But still Ca Ching. read more

Got my exhaust system including catalytic converter changed recently at Midas Acton. Chris, the store manager, helped with getting all required parts for the repair so things could be completed the same day. He called a couple of his different suppliers to get the best price since the repairs were significant and was able to pass the savings on to me! Also, I was not only offered shuttle service back to my house, I was offered a pick up ride when my car was ready! That was a very pleasant surprise. They repaired one hole on my exhaust pipe ~ 4 years ago. They cut off a piece of pipe and welded a new piece on. Although they charged about double price as a nearby garage, I still chose them assuming they could provide higher reliability. Now the same place has a hole again, exactly on the place they fixed last time. When I took my car to the same Midas store, they took it as granted, saying the repair typically lasts for 4 years. Even ridiculously they gave a new repair estimate even higher than last time. Finally I fixed it at a nearby garage at 1/3 of the estimate from Midas. read more

I love these guys! I don't typically write reviews but I've been using this business for many years and they have always been friendly, fair and honest/transparent about what is needed. They even escort me into the garage to show me what they're seeing and why it should be addressed if they're concerned. A few days ago, they went above and beyond when during a routine oil change on one of our second hand cars that we were selling, we discovered a few major repairs that needed to be done. I had a potential buyer coming to see the car early the next morning so the midas owner quickly located the parts, had them delivered and was able to prioritize the job to get it completed just in time the next morning. He even offered to let me take his car home so I could leave the car overnight. Great service! They'll have my business for many years to come!! read more
