When finding a new auto shop, there is always the worry that you bring your car in for an oil change and the tech tells you there are a million other things that need to be done with your car ASAP. I had the best experience at this auto shop, and even shared my experience with my husband. Cory was very helpful and went in depth about what he saw and a suggested timeline for when it would be good to get it. For example, I got my oil changed months ago in West Seattle and was told my tires needed to be changed because they were bald. Cory explained the measurement of the tread and suggested they should be changed within the next 3-6 months, and not immediately, like the other shop said. The honesty and integrity of an auto shop is hard to find, but I am so glad I found this shop. Mechanics are scary especially for a gal who has no idea about cars! But here at Midas I called and Corey was very responsive and even said I could drop my car off early since I did not have an appointment. Though my car did not start for me it started for them.While I dropped it off for a vehicle diagnostic, Corey was very informative and walked me through the steps of what they were going to do. I appreciate the patience and understanding that the crew over here did for me since cars are not my expertise. I will come here again if my car gives any problem to me later on! I was looking to get an oil change somewhere and I just happen to be at buy a Midas. I walked in the previous day and spoke with the manager Corey there as schedule the oil change for the very next day he told me exactly what to expect and how long to be there it did take a little bit longer but I appreciated it because they gave me a free inspection. He told me my tires would need replacing within a year and that he could help me with other issues as well with my vehicle so definitely recommend going here. Thanks have a great day read more

This is solely for an oil change, but how a shop handles this often tells me something. First, a real person answered and had no attitude about my asking for a price. Second, the price was very fair. Third, scheduling was easy and when I arrived they were ready. Fourth, while I waited in their clean and comfortable waiting area with a view into the garage, I observed the same fellow who answered phone (Cory, mentioned in other reviews) happily help 2 other people who wanted air pressure checked (without appointments). Fifth, I am confident the whole checklist was completed since I could observe the technician and I do know how to do all of it myself, so know what I was watching. Sixth, when it was done, Cory didn't blink at the coupon I had with me and the already good price became significantly better. So for other places that treat customers asking for information or actual friendly service like it's an imposition, know that now I will definitely return here for other, pricier service since they seem to care! I couldn't have asked for better service! I have brought my car here a couple of times for oil change and break/rotor replacements and have always gotten the best service. I have a niche car, a Smartcar, and Midas is the only place in town that will work on it. Accepting that I needed to bite the expensive bullet, I brought my car in today to get the back set of breaks and rotors replaced, per advice given to me by the team at Midas in the summer, when they replaced the front set. I dropped it off and received a call less than 20 minutes later, apologizing for some mis-advice but that the breaks just needed to be cleaned (something about dust being trapped in the break pad) and it would be $35. I almost dropped my phone and wanted to cry I was so thankful. Corey noted they don't replace and charge for anything they don't need to. A place that could have EASILY conned me out of $350+ without me even knowing didn't and I couldn't have been more grateful. I called in for wheel balancing and alignment as my vehicle was vibrating noticeably at 55+. Other places either do not offer alignment or take appointment on the day I wanted to service my car, so I decided to go with Midas. Upon visiting, there were all the services listed on two 48inch (I think) tv and I liked how they laid out the prices for services. The price seem to vary based on vehicles but their prices are very reasonable. Staffs are very welcoming and friendly. They are also versatile and they seem to be working on rear differential for other vehicles when that service was not listed on the screen. I would highly recommend you to consider this shop for your service stop. read more

After years of neglecting maintenance on my Ford Ranger, she was in bad shape. I brought her into Corey and crew, and they began to do their magic. After they did all they had to do, she runs like new. I have spoken with many coworkers and friends and let them know what all I had done. I also told them the cost. They were floored. Some had had similar work done, but at a much higher cost. Corey, who is only 25 years old, runs his shop with extreme professionalism. We took our car here for the advertised oil change and tire rotation coupon that they have in Val pak. Our car was done quickly and the staff was polite, however - they gave us an estimate slip with things that, according to them, really needed to be done on the car. They told my husband it was "safe to drive home" but that it should be done asap. I was curious about their suggested repairs, especially since 2 of the 4 items were just done months before at our regular mechanic. The 3rd item we knew about and were planning on repairing and the 4th was all new to us. My husband took his car to our regular mechanic who told us 3 of the 4 items did not need to be done at all. It makes me wonder if they're trying to drum up business or what kind of racket they're running, but they wanted to do hundreds of dollars in repairs that weren't needed. read more

Consumer warning! These people give false quotes and point blank lie about services offered based on prices they give you. I asked for a price for a full brake job. All Rotors, pads and calipers. Also an allighnment. Price I was given over the phone was for a total of 750. Plus tax I thought that was fair so I accepted that price and dropped my ride off. Also made a second list for them as not to endure a screw up by a moron. So, i inspected it before I went in to pay. Noticed they screwed up and didnt repkace any of the rear calipers. Found out they didnt even do the damn allighnment either! The bill they insisted I paid in order to avoid impounding my car was $1200.00. Total rip off scam. I wasnt given an op to walk away from that bullshit deal and do it myself, or take it to an honest business. Everyone I know is well informed now and never setting foot in a midas again. I could have done the work myself to all specifications wanted at a fraction of the cost anywhere else, or 400$ and an hr of my time in my garage. DO NOT GO HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A YOUNG FEMALE - Tried to tell my 18 year old daughter that she needed 4 brand new tires when she just got brand new ones 2 months ago and have nothing wrong with them!! Absolutely insane. I'm calling to speak to a manager but I'm sure he's the one who's telling the employees to say this bs!!! She went in by herself for the first time just to get an oil change and was told she needed 4 brand new tires and some other $140 repair. Took my Lexus SC430 into the shop and spoke with Jeff Whiteside because I had a check engine light on the dash. He had a mechanic fix my car and the price was very fair. It only took 1/2 hour to get it fixed. Jeff was easy to talk to and did not try to sell me additional stuff. As a young woman, I'm used to getting stiffed by Auto Repair shops. This place was tops. Jeff, the manager, was so nice and friendly. One of the mechanics went around my car and visually showed me all the little problems instead of just telling me. It's affordable and there's always oil change coupons in the Valpack you get in the mail. I dropped my vehicle off near the end of their work day on a Thursday and they said that they would start the diagnostic the next morning. They called me and asked for permission to start work on my car and I gave it to them. They called me later in the day saying that they would have my car repaired and back to me Saturday afternoon. I call them today and they said that they haven't even touched my car and I told them that I needed it before Sunday. They told me that they were actively working on it but it turns out they were just lying to me. read more

I was on my way to work this morning and as I merged onto I5 my car stalled and wouldn't go further than 30 MPH. I knew the next exit up was a Midas shop and managed to coast my Fiat 500 into the lot. I wasn't happy about having to take my car to a brand name shop expecting higher prices etc. but I didn't want to do further damage. When I walked in, Corey was in conversation with an elderly customer. I stood by for several minutes whilst he paid great attention to this lovely lady. As I waited, I noted that the prices for services were clearly posted on large screens in the waiting room. When I approached Corey and explained my issue he immediately told me, which I already know, that FIAT's aren't always easy to diagnose and recommended another local auto shop might serve me better. I opted to let them try to diagnose with high hopes rather than pay a tow fee. Corey explained there would be a charge around $60 for diagnosis. Fast forward some hours of stress for me and Corey called to tell me that they could not interpret the unknown FIAT diagnostic codes and would not go further to try to incur costs, but rather referred me back to the other shop in town. He also explained that he wasn't going to charge me for the diagnostic, and that this shop would never try to charge for things they can't diagnose or fix. First time in my life I've had a shop not only not charge the diagnostic fee, but be super reassuring that they're only sending me away for the same reason. When I went back to meet the tow for the next shop, there were multiple USPS vehicles in the bay. Clearly A+ management. read more

Finding a good auto repair shop in Bellingham is extremely difficult if your vehicle is not brand new and under warranty from a dealership. I started taking my vehicles to Midas about 3 years ago after I had been COMPLETELY ripped off at two or three other places here in town. The manager, Jeff is extremely professional and will help you out in any way he can. His staff is knowledgeable and highly experienced in working on all types of vehicles. As a single female, it is extremely easy to get taken advantage of by repair shops in this town, especially if you don't know how to work on cars yourself. Trust me ladies, this is the place to go...they are friendly, fair and honest and most importantly, you can trust them! read more

Despite courteous service I was disappointed to discover that they recommend unneeded services. Most likely because I am female. Twice now they have said I needed to change my cabin air filter ($20 fee) when I've come in for a 3,000 mile oil change. Manufacturers and maintenance advisors recommend change every 12-15,000 miles. Ask to see your old air filter if they recommend replacement or just don't go there. read more
