Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful, as they are at most LS stores. However, the charge for the tire itself is outrageous. Had we been able to move our car to another place, such as the dealer, we would have and could have saved $200 based on actual quote given. Lesson learned. read more

I showed up just to get some air in my tire and the gentleman saw a screw deep in the rubber.. not a fast leak but detrimental if used for awhile.. he said hey if you can wait a bit I'll take it off and repair it for you for free.. totally blew me away and they just gained a customer for life! Honestly, I am really disappointed in my recent experience at Les Schwab. I made an online appointment for four new tires, mounted and balanced, a safety trip check AND an alignment. I dropped off my vehicle before work and went about my day. I received a text stating my services have been completed about three and a half hours later. After work, I went to get my car and asked the counter person if there were any notes. She replied "They suggest getting an alignment." I told her that I asked for an alignment and she went to ask the service tech why it wasn't done. The tech came back and told me that "I guess we overlooked that." No apology, just a matter of fact statement. She then told me that it could still be done today. When asked how long, "An hour." I really wanted it done along with the new new tires, so I told them to go ahead. While waiting, I looked at the invoice for the tires and found they had overcharged me for disposal fees (charged for four, only gave them one) and went up to dispute the charges. After an hour and forty five minutes, my vehicle was apparently finished. The tech relayed that she could not align the back two wheels because of "factory adjustments". So, only half the job? No discount for an incomplete service, having an almost two hour wait and an overcharge? Pretty darn disappointed to say the least. read more

Had my car up for 2 hours for a tire rotation. They tried to recommend new shocks and struts for $1800. Car got new shocks and struts just a year ago when I bought the car. I can verify this 100% as I just did my brakes on the car yesterday and my buddy was noticing all the new stuff they put in. read more

They always go the extra mile at giving great service. I like the reminders they send me when it is time for a tire totation or brake inspection. When they do these inspections they give me a very thorough explanation and report of all findings. They also provide recommendations and cost estimates for all repairs as well as a suggested priority schedule. All of this is provided in writing. Customer safety is always the top priority. They offer many complimentary services. Overall, I am very happy with their service, but I decided to take one star off because there was a problem with my last visit. I brought in my car because one of the tires was slowly losing pressure. They really couldn't fix it (without replacing the wheel), but they looked at it and there was no charge. I was pretty impressed by their COVID-19 response: plexiglass, hand sanitizer at the entrance, face masks on all employees, including technicians working on cars. The reason I took one star off is that the tire was inflated to 47psi. The manufacture recommendation is 33psi. I know it was a complimentary service, but it is such a basic mistake that a professional should not make. My 2015 Audi needed a new battery so I called Les Schwab to see if they could give me a quote and the guy told me that I should bring the car in as they would have to look at it before they could give me quote. So I took it in , they were not that busy and they were able to get the car into a service bay fairly quickly. After sitting there for an hour with no update from anyone, I asked how much longer it would be to get an estimate, and was told that it would take another hour to test the battery. I said I did not need to have it tested, I already knew it needed to be replaced, I just wanted a quote to install a new one. They said ok, we'll have the car brought up. It then took another 30 minutes before they finally brought the car back, and then the guy proceeded to tell me that I needed a new battery, although they were still unsure which one so couldn't give me an exact quote. Horrible customer service, and I have zero confidence that they are even competent enough to properly install the correct battery, I would rather pay more to have the Audi dealer do it, at least they actually know what they are doing. Will never again do business with Les Schwab! read more

I recently bought a new car which, of course, means I've managed to get several flat tires because, hey, who doesn't like to spend extra money on their brand new car! Thanks to the fine folks at Les Schwab, though, I haven't had to spend *too* much because they fix my flats for free (since I had to buy a tire or two from them when I ran over a particularly nasty spike). Their showroom is pleasant enough, though (clearly) it smells horribly of new tire. If the wait is too long, or the smell too strong, it's a quick walk up the street to a couple of restaurants and they will call you when your car is done. But I prefer to stay in the showroom, where they have tables and little workstations for us laptop folks (and yes, free Wi-Fi), plus complimentary coffee and popcorn while you wait. It's not the most glamorous place, but hey it's a tire company! The staff have always been very pleasant and professional. I think they're even getting to know me by name I've been in there so much! I first gave this les Schwab a try back in December when I needed new brakes. The service was good and everyone I interacted with was friendly - however, they're very expensive compared to other places. Quoted $1500 for brakes and CV joint. Ended up just doing the brakes myself and paying $80 for parts. How they charge over $1000 for brakes blows my mind. Went again to get a flat fixed, and they said they couldn't plug it and needed to replace all four tires. Quoted me $600, but I found the same service for $400 at discount tires. If you're like me, and don't have extra money to spend on car maintenance, don't go to Les Schwab. There are more affordable options in Bellingham, and Les Schwab has a reputation for upselling! read more

First thing is they cannot offer OEM parts for many vehicles. I have bought and brought many cars over the years to this location and others in the Bellingham area. My latest is a 07 Lexus RX350. It needed a plethora of suspension work and rear brake work. First drive out of the shop, not so great, let me know Mike, Raj and the crew jump on the fix. They offered to rebuild struts assembly w OEM, quick Lifetime strut replacement, I pick. I cannot recommend this place enough for honest, warranties, safe work. I didn't mind waiting. But after three hours I called to see the status on my tire and they said it wasn't fixable, and they recommended I get both rear tires changed. I went to discount tires the next day and they patched my tire for free in under 45 minutes of my arrival. Super disappointed. read more

I called in last Friday, 10/01/2021, because I flatten my tire. It was unfixable so they recommended for me to get a new wheel that will come on Tuesday 10/06/2021. I couldn't make it on Tuesday due to school and work. I came in on Wednesday 10/07/2021 instead. The girl, Trisha, who checked me in couldn't find my name and gave me extremely unclear instructions about checking my car. All I needed to do was change my spare tire to the tire I ordered. Just one tire that I already called in for. I waited for 30 minutes which is fine but nothing was done during that waiting time. She also took my keys. I decided to walk up again to see where they are in the process. This time, Mike was the one who talked to me. He told me to give him my keys and that he will change it right away. I told him that I already gave my keys to Trisha. I look at Trisha, thinking in my head why can't she just do that for me like Mike did. To me, Trisha seems very rude and has really bad customer service/manners. I hope she knows that she isn't cool enough to be acting like that:) Mike's service was amazing. I have entrusted these mechanics several times with my vehicle for new tires, batteries, chains, rotations, and enjoyed consistently descent customer care. I like that they are just down the road from Trader Joe's and in easy walking distance of Avenue Bread too. One can bide their time in either location while waiting for service to be complete. But for the less inclined to venture far from their vehicles, this place has a decent waiting area of its own and even serves coffee and popcorn! Very cute touch. read more

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take your vehicle to THIS PARTICULAR LESS Schwab. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW !!!!!!!!! I actually wouldnt believe this if it didnt happen to myself. The way I was treated was deplorable. I had a flat on my BMW. I recently purchased new tires from a differant Les Schwab. One i have never had an issue with. One of my tires was flat and I needed to take my BMW to get serviced. Since my tires were new I purchased one tire so I could drive my BMW to the shop. They put the wrong sized tire on my car. My BMW is all wheel drive. Having the wrong sized tire on an all wheel drive car is a very serious problem. It resulted in severe damage to my car. My mechanic is the one who noticed the tire was the wrong size. They said they needed the right size tire to properly diagnose exactly what other damage had been done. I took the wheel into LESS Schwab. I explained what happened and simply asked if they could put the right size tire on it. I was refered to the assistant manager Vern. I again explained what had accured and asked for the right sized tire to be put on. He then asked how much i wanted to pay. I said to Vern you put on the wrong sized tire and I just wanted the right size put on. At this point he called me a liar and said he put the same size on as was removed. This of course is not at all true. He called me a liar in front of every customer and employee in the building. I then explained to him all the damage they caused and asked for the right size tire. Again he called me a liar. I was not and i am still not lying. They put the wrong sized tire on and somehow blame me. There is literally thousands of dollars in damage THAT THEY CAUSED. Vern the man child apparently cant man up to his mistake. I took my wheel to the Les Schwab on Meridian where I showed them the same paperwork. They asked me if they were going to take care of it and I said no. He said they should. He then asked who I was dealing with over there. I told him Vern and he said and I quote "no wonder he is a dick" Apparently other people know he is a problem but apparently not his own manager. I tried to speak to his manager but was told he is on vacation. I then tried to call corporate and was on hold for an hour before i was told i need to leave a message. Still have not heard back. I KNOW THIS IS A LONG COMPLAINT BUT I HOPE IT HELPS SOMEONE NOT TO TAKE THEIR CAR TO THE LESS SCHWAB ON JAMES ST. TAKE IT TO THE ONE ON MERIDIAN. IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO GET COMPLETELY FUCKED UP, GET NO HELP, GET INSULTED, AND TREATED LIKE YOU ARE A PIECE OF SHIT TAKE IT TO THE JAMES ST LESS SCHWAB. My wife just went down to have her tires rotated. They said it would be about an hour and a half so she left her car with them. They called a little more than an hour later and said her tires were worn out and they would like to order 4 new tires for her. She told them no, she just wanted those rotated. They said okay. Then they called back 10 minutes later and said they were too worn out and that it was a liability issue for them to rotate the worn out tires. I would attach pictures but yelp doesn't accept them. All the tires had less than 20,000 miles on them and we bought 2 of them there. I used the penny test on them and not only did the tread reach past Lincoln ' s head but covered his hair as well. No more business for these rip off artists. read more

I got a flat tire about 10 minutes away from the Les Schwab on James. It was 5:30 and they close at 6:00 and I needed my car for work that night. The woman and man at the front desk acted with urgency to get the job done before closing and they did just that! This alleviated a whole lot of stress for me that night! on top of that since I had bought 2 tires from them at the iron gate road location, there was still no charge for the repairs they did. I would like to say the lady who intially helped me did a extraordinary job at getting my car looked at quick. And this review has no reference to her. My car wouldnt start twice at my hotel and another store in am and was thinking it was just a battery issue. When I recieved the call from salesperson Rajneel R R he stated that the issue was that my battery was bad. When I came into the store Rajneel stated that not only was my battery bad but my alternator was not working. He stated the reason was that my alternator was draining my battery and alternator was no good. He gave me a buisness card for a local business to go check. I told him no thanks I will go directly to the dealership and get it looked at. I went to the dealership and I asked the service advisor if he could have a mechanic look at my battery and alternator and have it tested. When it was tested they stated that there was nothing wrong with my alternator and that it was charging the battery fine and I had no light on my dash. I think Rajneel was trying to take advantage of 4 woman who were from out of town and underestimate our intelligence and direct us to get auto work done when not needed. read more

I stopped by here on our way to Canada. My car had a shimmy in the front end and I thought the tires were out of balance or something. After they lifted it up my front drivers side the tire was disintegrating! It turns out it was worn through on the inside of the tire. There were chunks of the tire missing on the inside. Easy to fix - bought two new tires balanced and s 4 wheel alignment. On my way in less than two hours. I did have an appointment. Very competent, great service. Highly recommend them. read more

I took my Chevy Venture van in to get the wheel hub bearing assembly replaced. The guys gave me a quote last week, which was lower than most any other place which was why I chose them. I was late for my appointment but they were totally on time with fixing my van. It was done in just over an hour, just as they had told me it would be done. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The place itself is really large and there are a LOT of tires (ok no surprise at a tire place LOL) I noticed it's really clean, too. They have a good size waiting area with chairs, tv, coffee and popcorn. Sure makes the time go by quicker. This location is just down the street from Trader Joe's so I walked over there to pass the time. When I came back, my van was being finished up. When it was time to pay, I paid what the quote was for making me a happy customer. I always hate having to shell out a lot of money for vehicle repair and often feel like mechanics want to take advantage of us females. Les Schwab changed my opinion of automotive shops today. Not impressed with the service. It seems as though my son did not receive the level of assistance others have. I have purchased thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of tires from Les Schwab, and rarely use their flat repair service. When my son got a flat, put his own spare on, brought the wheel and flat tire to Les Schwab, he had to wait over 2-1/2 hours to get his flat fixed. He needed to accomplish this during a break between his two work shifts, but even though he had an hour and a half from the time he got there, they could not get one tire fixed in that time. As a result, he was over an hour and a half late getting back to work. Pretty tough on a college student trying to pay for expenses. Very disappointed, and will reconsider buying tires from them in the future. I also hope it doesn't cost him his job. read more

Wasn't expecting to buy tires on this trip off island, but saw an online offer and due to a missed ferry, decided to take advantage of it. So glad we did. The service was fast, accurate, friendly and thorough. They estimated how long it would take and nailed it. We're happy with our new tires and glad that they were able to take us in on a moment's notice. They didn't try to sell us something we didn't need and questioned us carefully about how and where we use our vehicle. These guys know what they are doing. I've had all four tires on my car replaced here, along with a fifth warranty replacement (road damage). The employees really know their stuff and do quality work, in addition to the great warranty for all their work. I also like them because they don't treat you like an idiot if you are a non car person and will stand with you at your car and explain exactly what is wrong and what they'll do to fix it and most importantly you'll get to SEE what they're talking about. Been to a few repair places where this is simply not the case and they just want an expensive repair. Since the damage was too close to the side to do a repair, I got a NEW tire for only $13 bucks! (sticker price 88). I haven't found a warranty or level of professionalism that comes close to the James St. Les Schwab. read more

They took care of it right away and I appreciated it, so today she had ran over a bad curb and blew her tire out and I remember how they took care of her and I took her car to Les Schwab myself and they were fast friendly price was fair also. I have always been pleased with the efficiency and helpful manner of this Les Schwab Tire Center, and my latest experience with them was simply remarkable. I purchased 4 new snow tires with wheels from Les Schwab in December 2017, and used them for the rest of that winter. In September 2018 I got a car accident and totaled the car. So I was left with four almost new snow tires to dispose of. Also, being severely injured by the accident, It was difficult for me to sell those tires through other means. I took the tires to Les Schwab, hoping that they would buy back the used tires. Initially they told me that as a policy they did not buy back used tires, but then the Manager, Mike, tried to help and offered to take the tires and sell them for me as consignment with a 50-50 split. Without further ado, he then offered to simplify things by paying me half of the estimated sale price of the tires right there and then. Such consideration and generosity was far better than what I had expected. I am very thankful for their thoughtfulness and help. read more

Pulled in for a tire pressure air check. Was told I needed all new tires because I had a stuck valve cap and low treads. I knew that I had plenty (about 40 -50% tread) left so I didn't trust the guy. Went home and my husband said he was able to get the cap off after working on it for a bit. Also had Costco check the air in my tires (since we don't have any means of doing it at home). Costco and my husband agree my tires look fine. It makes me angry when places see a woman drive up, then slap a vagina tax on. read more
