Update: I just called Corporate to follow up on my lack of resolution and found out that the AI chatbot took my correct number because I received several text messages from Midas but James (the store manager) lied to corporate and gave them a number with one off digit which made them think they were getting in contact with me when they weren't. Corporate mentioned that the ticket was closed due to failure to connect with me. I asked the agent to make note of this issue and remind James that he had me sitting for 3 hours for an oil change. The agent was aghast. She has reopened my ticket. Will update when corporate reaches out. Start of experience: I was looking to book an appointment with Meineke but inadvertently scheduled with Midas - I was at breakfast with my best friend having a great conversation and my attention wasn't fully on differentiating between the two *sad face*. When I realized my mistake I went to Midas and when asked how I was doing, I told James I was scared because I had scheduled at the wrong place and this was my first time at Midas. I was encouraged that being a first time customer was all the more reason to stay and reassured that I would be taken care of. This was at 10am. I needed an oil change and a look into why my air conditioner was blowing hot air. I mentioned that because I was unfamiliar with their pricing, I would need an initial estimate and some insight so I could make informed decisions along the way. The air conditioner evaluation was priced at 100.00 if I did not get any additional work completed at the shop and the oil change was slated for 80.00 with a total of about 190. I told him I would go to Valvoline because what is he talking about? He brought the price down on the oil change to about 65.00 and said if it was something as simple as the wrong button not being turned on, he wouldn't charge me for the evaluation. I ok'd the process and sat down. This was at 10:15am. A young lady walked in after me around 10:30 and scheduled with Mr Tire but showed up at Midas but they said since you're here, just stay here and we'll take care of you. She agreed and was quoted an hour. After 45 minutes she was released, so I asked James if there was something going on with my air conditioner since someone who came in 30 minutes after me was leaving before me and we had the oil change in common. He mentioned that his technician was blowing air through something and mentioned I was low on Freon and he needed to add dye to something and probably that the air conditioner would need to be recharged so the new price for that was 495.00. I told him new numbers were never agreed upon and I was just here for the evaluation because I have no reason to pay that much for a recharge. He said he was still waiting on the dye and would have better information for me. This was 11:15am. I get a summons from another gentleman about the air conditioner needing a new charge and the settled price is 495. James says no, do not give it to her at that price, bring it to 295.00. Thank you, James, but no.  I do not have any intention on spending that type of money. This is around 11:30am. From here to 12pm. My car is suspended, no new information. My husband calls at 12 and asks is everything ok. I tell him my appointment was at 10am and I've denied the additional work. At this point, these men are playing with me. My husband arrives at 12:15pm and asks why the car is still suspended. James says he's pulling all the freon from my car and it would take an additional 30 minutes. The evaluation calls for freon to be added to my car, I deny the service, so you put what was low in my car in and now you're sucking it out just because I do not want to pay 200 more dollars for a service that costs 40.00? I said, James, you said you were going to take care of me and now you're making me sit here for over 2 and a half hours just to leave out with less freon that I came in with because you're mad? I said, James you have to do something about this. My time is valuable and you've been uncommunicative for the past hour. He got straight up indignant and nasty and barked that he wouldn't be doing anything about anything. My husband calmly paid the bill and I called corporate. Cool. My fault for staying somewhere I was walking out of in the first place. Over 3 hours after my service (the car was released at 1pm) and all I left with was an oil change and a 180.00 bill. All I wanted to do was prepare for the beach trip tomorrow on my paid day off and go about my business. Long story short. Always go to Meineke. Always go to Mr. Tire. Never stop at Midas. Just to start I maintain my cars essentials in top shape. I came in for a oil change and these "Mangers" tried to tell me the brakes and rotors I just got done 3 months ago needed to be changed because of crystallization and that I needed a brake flush even though I had the system bleed when I did the brakes. Older hispanic man who was in room behind the counter like the wizard of Oz tried to gaslight me telling me that because the quality of pad I used caused the the rotors the heat up prematurely lol I used Akebono pads they are the closest to OEM. When I said no they tired to haggle with me like some street vendor. Price went from.900 to 700 lol these guys are nuts when I still said no they tried to get me to get a credit card and some kind of predatory finance loan. I had tires I bought online and needed to get them installed. Anthony greeted me on the phone, was pleasant, helpful, friendly and extremely accommodating. Their rate for the service was below the other shops I had called so I decided to give them a try. My GPS got me a little lost and when I called he was upbeat and let me know that they will still take care of me despite my running late. My mechanic Willy was very helpful and friendly. He saw a non tire related issue and pointed it out to me while doing the tire change for my information and didn't try to hard sell me like some shops would. It's definitely an issue and I knew about it but appreciated the call-out without the hype or pressure to get it done right then and there. It was helpful information. The service and staff were all very nice and helpful, they got me in and out fast and their work was spot on. No complaints, nice people and I am driving on new shoes today. read more

So...i talked to two different fellows at front desk of the problems with my old school 71 monte. Sure bring it in..i did been a month no follow up...they cant fix even with a wire harness for direction..several of my vehicle's need tire no answer..my car was running like four harleys now dead and will not start...i had another appt. absolutely terrible i went in and told them my check engine light is on and it was having a hard time accelerating they make me wait 3 hours to check out my vehicle only to tell me that my "head gasket is cracked" and repairs would Cost $1200-$2000. no actual work was done but they charged me $200 just for doing tests but when i took my car to another mechanic i was told my head gasket is perfectly fine it was my catalytic converter that was bad (which wasn't mentioned by the mechanic at Midas at all) and repairs would cost significantly less than what i was told at Midas. I took my car here in May of 2023, after it was fixed, it ran until August of 2023 when I began to have problems again, I went back. Today is October 19th, 2023 and exactly one month ago from today, September 18th 2023, my car has been missed diagnosed, and I know this because I took it to another mechanic and they fixed it for a fraction of the price they were trying to get me to pay. They told me I needed parts I did not need. From May, to September, I have given this company close to $6000, and I'm still having problems with my car. With September being the most, I've spent at $2400. Some of the parts they fixed are still having problems. I do not recommend this place at all. Very nice people, but unfortunately it seems they do not know what they are doing or know what they are talking about, I only know this because of other mechanics, who have fixed my car for a fraction of the price of these people have charged me. read more

Brought the car there because the brakes are pulsating when depressed. Dropped the car off the night before. They called me in the morning saying they are checking the car. An hour later needs rotors (warped) and the front wheels balanced. They said that was the cause. $550 I said fine. I get there around 1230. The bill was 25 dollars more, no call to advise. Fine I paid. I leVe and within 6 minutes call them back to advise the problem persist and now the front brakes are smoking heavy. I bring the car back, I was there 40 minutes without anyone saying a fucking word about what was going on. Unprofessional AF! I asked what the status was, " waiting on parts" did not say what parts. 2 hours later I get my xar back. "Should be good now the first rotors I guess were bad" i take the car and the problem still fucking persist. I have to wait to speak to someone AGAIN! $575 dollars for a fucking nightmare. Went in for a quote for a tune up to my 2009 Dodge Caliber. Manager/owner quoted $75.96 for parts, $85.50 for labor, $12.92 for "shop supplies" and $12.21 for sales tax. Grand total: $186.59. I would only go here for the most very basic of maintenance things (i.e. oil changes). I had my brakes and rotors replaced four months ago, and my car has already started shimmying due to warping. I took it in yesterday, and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it (their mechanics must not be that knowledgeable). I took it in to Sal's on State St. today and he told me what was wrong with it - Midas must have used shoddy parts or shoddy workmanship, because there's no reason for my rotors to need replacing already!
