I would give zero stars if google would let me. This is the worst repair shop in the city of Kearney. I am a solo woman living the vanlife when I had some troubles with my belt squeaking VERY LOUDLY. I took it to Midas to see what the screech was about and they said it was a leaky water pump. First red flag was them charging me $800 f*cking dollars for a new water pump. Whatever, I paid it and was happy to be on the road again. 4 miles down the road, the van would no longer accelerate properly. Check engine light on. Turned around and went back to Midas. Mistake. They "fixed" it again, cleared the check engine, and sent me on my way. 4 miles down the road, wouldn't accelerate again. turned around AGAIN, back to midas. They told me they seriously had no idea but their mechanic would look at it first thing tomorrow. Only nice thing they did was allow me to park in their parking lot for the night. Here i am, a couple months down the road having shredded 2 serpentine belts and been stranded on the side of the highway for hours, I was told that they put in the wrong water pump and the pulleys are misaligned, which is what is causing the serpentine belts to shred. In short, they charged me $800 for the wrong water pump and left my van with a check engine light and not accelerating. I went down the road to CONRAD'S AUTO REPAIR where they fixed it up for $300 and didn't take advantage of a solo woman vanlifer, like MIDAS DID. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Went to Midas to get my car a oil change and it took all day for a simple oil change because the oil changer guy fransico cant work with out his sweater hoodie being over his face and head and he was so slow because he smelled so highly like a skunk of weed then get my car back after the day is pretty much over and my car is still low on oil hmmm you would of that the managers would of done something nope sure did not the two managers was out side talking and laughing would not take your car their the oil changers do not know what their doing and the managers do not care this use to be a good place to go but new workers wow im pretty sure they picked them out of the parole hearing i looked on other reviews and not good and their policy has changed too know hiring we do not drug test or do back ground checks big red flag Do not go to Midas read more

Horrible!! The Midas location in Kearney NE charged me $134 for an OIL CHANGE!! They quoted me $63 on the phone and then made me pay $134...outrageous. On top of it the manager Josh very rude and shady when inquiring about it, do not take your business here. Stay with your trusted car dealers. read more

Amazing service! We were traveling from Texas and woke up with a flat tire. After calling other companies we called Midas and they immediately offered to help. Using their standards to change the exhaust they feel perfect, in fact, not perfect. Gently stepping on the gas pedal has a huge sound, and I can't drive at high speed. When I want to change it back, they can't change it. read more

I dropped in to this shop after puncturing my [new] tire on the highway while on a cross-country trip to California. Needless to say, this is not what you want to have happen when you still have 1,500 miles to drive. Upon arriving, Chris was incredibly helpful, attending to me quickly, and got my tire plugged, patched, and reattached in no time (and for almost no money). After the work was done, I noted that the pressure on my newly-repaired tire was lower than of the others and Chris came out himself to show me that those tires were overinflated at the dealership. He then got them to the correct pressure and even left me with a free pressure gauge. The nature of my visit makes it unlikely that I'll ever have the pleasure of stopping by this shop again, but I hope that someone else looking for an honest place to get their car fixed will give this shop their business. read more

I stopped by after my check engine light came on while driving across the country. (looks like this shop has this happen a lot) I know most of the problems on my car, as well as what is likely to go wrong next. I was hoping that the problem was the oil filter and that an oil change would solve the problem.... but asked that they check the car to make sure there wasn't anything glaring that was going wrong... or that I needed to fix before driving an additional 700 miles home to Utah. Not only did they go over the engine and structure, they explained to me some of the things that were going on in the car (with diagrams) and why I didn't need to fix them until I was home. They changed the oil, and reassured me that I should be fine with everything else. They were right, the check engine light went off within a hundred miles and I made it home with a list of things to repair in the near future. They could have easily charged me hundreds of dollars, convinced me that I needed to fix everything right at that moment and talked me into large expenditures (I was at a serious disadvantage by being mid road trip), instead they were pleasant and honest.
