I had taken my daughters car in for air conditioning repairs. It was indicated by Midas Kesick the compressor was broken and needed to be replaced. Midas replaced, vehicle picked up. Approx. 2 weeks later a/c not working again. brought the car back in, they indicated a valve has leaking and they replaced . after another 2weeks a/c not working again. Brought the car to an air conditioning repair shop, they recharged the system, said bring back in two days. Brought the car back and with a infrared flash light found a faulty Shrader valve. He mentioned the compressor probably didn't have to be replaced and the cooling gas which was used was reclaimed gas, not new probably from the auto wreckers, there was no dye for detetection. Not only did Midas Keswick charge me $400 to repair an exhaust manifold that they already repaired 6 months ago and failed because of their incompetence installing it. They then refused to give me my keys back because I wouldn't sign the bill/release form even though I paid the bill. They can't legally do this as it's my property , so had to get the cops involved. Also wouldn't admit to any fault in their work, just happened by coincidence they said. read more

Avoid at all cost. They charged me almost 800 dollars for a muffler two and half years ago and is done and now wanting to charge me another 300 for a muffler which is suppose to be under warrant. They are the worst...,,run run read more

My elderly Dad went into your shop today, to get a new car battery, the gentleman told my dad that the battery was top of the line with a 3yr warranty, the total cost was over $700, just to buy and to install battery. This cost was absolutely ridiculous that ppl get taken for a sucker , as I could've got a 5yr AGM group 47 for s285 and $70 to install at Canadian tire. Total cost was $401.55 that also included a $20 core. I will never come back and I'll let me friends and family ( it's just to bad because I use to come to you guys all the time. FYI: The company called my father the other day and told him that they had to buy a battery from other company .that's why it was so expensive.The guy told me that he would give me back $145 and refund me difference for the cost of the battery. Went into the shop and I was only refunded $141 and never got back anything for the over priced battery They still charged me close to $600 for a standard 3yr warranty battery, which only should cost $180 to $225 max at Canadian tire . Thanks to Dan and his crew. I stopped in for an estimate, then decided to have my exhaust repair done. The gave me a ride to Walmart to kill the time waiting, then picked me up, showed me the work that they had done, saved me some money from the original estimate since they were able to avoid a couple of issues, and sent me on my way sooner than expected. Honest, down-to-earth and skilled at auto mechanics, we have missed him since he needed to be away but the fellows that are filling in are proving to be great as well. I am writing this review in hopes that it discourages anyone from taking their vehicle to Midas in the future. I took my van in for a brake replacement in April. The cost was $1200. Within 3 months the brakes were shaking. I took them back to Midas (location in Keswick) and they told me that it was my calipers (2014 Sienna). I replaced all 4 calipers. Within 3 months the brakes were shaking again. At this point I did not want to take my van back to the Keswick location. I contacted the customer service line and was directed to the Newmarket location. They replaced some brake components and I was told that there was nothing else that they could do for me. In fact I was told that the issue was driver induced and that it was me that was causing the issue. I had my van with the original brakes for 2 1/2 years before taking it into Midas without any issues. Trust me I am not race car driver in my mini van! I have since taken my van to another mechanic and I now have no issues with my brakes. Midas took no ownership for the issue and had no issue taking $1700 from someone while providing nothing in return. I received a cheque for $140 for the warranty on the brake pads. I essentially took $1700 and threw it in the garbage. I think its interesting that I had no issues for years took it to Midas and all of a sudden I turn into a crazy driver (as they said driver induced) and as soon as I have a different mechanic my driving returns to normal. My experience with this company was so time consuming and horrible. I had to contact the customer service line several times and I had to be the one to follow-up. I would never trust this company to work on my vehicle or anyone that I know. As my experience shows If you have any issues with the work trust me when I say that they will not take ownership and they will not resolve it. Your money is better spent at a more trustworthy company. Please share this review - no one can afford to lose money like this. read more
