why is so difficult or not professional? i have been waiting for an oil change for 2 hours!!!!????

I was told a lot of work needed to be done to my car. $579.00 to be exact, they said I needed a new wheel bearing and rear struts. One worker told me I needed to get the wheel bearing done ASAP before that tire snaps. (Scare tactic) Then I said I would come back another time to get it fix. Then he continue to put fear saying I really need to get it done real soon. Then the mechanic tells me down the line I'll eventually need to get it done it's not that bad now but it will become bad. Now two different people telling me two different things. I heard many negative reviews about them in the past always putting fear in the driver. Then experiencing myself and I do not recommend this place. They will scam you! You have been warned! read more

Never, never, never will I go here again. Went in for a oil change and sat around for HOURS, yes HOURS. And all of a sudden my oil is leaking. I should've done it myself as I always do, but figured you can't beat a $20 oil change. Man was I wrong. Not to mention they are the biggest scammers! Before I noticed my oil leaking I brought in 2 tires to have them mounted and ordered 2 tires through them. They told me ahead of time that they price match and here's what happened: They say I can have the tires here in 10 minutes and we can mount all tires on your car. We won't charge you for the tires you brought in but the new tires are $150 each, mounted. I ask if they price match and they say yes. While I'm sitting there for HOURS I decide to do a quick search for the tires they got for on google. The tires have great reviews but everywhere I looked they were half the price. So I show it to one of the guys and they say, "oh, we can't compete with internet pricing!" Then I find them at Mavis Discount tire for half the price also. Needless to say the actual price for the tires is $79, but they doubled up the price. I bring it to there attention and they are giving me a hard time saying that we had already established a price. I told them that what they were doing is bad business practice and they told me that they could bring the price down to $125. I called Mavis and they told me they could do it for $79 installed, each. I told the guys at Midas to put my old tires on and I would go to Mavis. Then they say, "we can do $79 but we have to charge you for the other 2 now." Absolutely the worst experience. I will never go back even if the oil change is free! read more

TOTALLY RIPPED US OFF and did wrong work. Found a leak, brought to them thinking it was oil. Nope. They advised it was a leaky drive train seal, for which they advised 4 hours of labor so total cost to replace seal and fluid was $849.98 plus tax. Continued to leak and car was brought in two more times for a total of 6 days. They kept up with the same line of crap that it was another seal and another that they had apparently damaged during initial repair. After 10 days back and forth, it still leaks!!! Brought to Dealership, it's not seals at all, drive train itself,..and get this the Parts Department at Dealership told MIDAS that WHAT THEY WERE DOING WOULDN'T WORK, that it was not the seals. They ignored, and charged me a fortune and never fixed it. THEY ARE SIMPLY EITHER CROOKS, OR INCOMPETENT, but likely both! STAY AWAY, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! went for an oil change, ended up sitting there 3 hours and being billed for parts I did not need and they never did the oil change I paid for. Terrible service and the guys that work there are untrained. They are not a member of the better business bureau, should tell you something. read more

I was initially dissatisfied, but the guys at this shop redeemed themselves. A few weeks ago my battery light in my 08' Yaris started flashing intermittently I brought it into Midas and John Shipps told me I needed a new alternator; I didn't believe him and felt because I was a female they were trying to rob me. Needless to say I broke down two weeks later and had the car towed to the shop. Another guy not John misdiagnosed the issue said I had a dead cell and recommend a new battery for $165 not an alternator and sent me on my way. 3 days later the exact same problem with the battery started happening again and I immediately brought the car back to them and requested the cost of the battery that I clearly didn't need be deducted from the cost of the alternator I did need. They offered me $100 off the cost of the alternator which I reluctantly agreed to and after waiting 4 hours and them installing 3 alternators that didn't work they took the remaining $65 off the cost of the new battery and asked me to return the next day because evidently they had a bunch of defective alternators and they had to get a new one from another location. The next day arrives and I unfortunately spend another 4 hours there and wonder of all wonders the 4th alternator didn't work either. At this point the guys were at a loss as to why all these alternators weren't working in my vehicle and figured it may be a computer issue that the Toyota dealership is more equipped to deal with. After John told me this news I prepared to leave, but more time passed and I still haven't received my car back it turns out that John and the guys in the shop didn't want to give up on trying to figure out what the problem was and eventually they did find the culprit a burnt wire replaced it at no cost and the alternator finally started functioning correctly. Whether I did have a dead cell in the original battery remains a mystery, but the manager Don the manager realized they messed up and took the hit for battery cost and now I have a new free battery and a working alternator. Both the manager Don and John ships were really nice and owned up to what went wrong and didn't stop until the issue was fixed. What more can you ask for? read more

Has to the one of the worst, deceiving, rude and grimy locations in the country. Will never come back to this place again. Came to this place for brake service. Was told one price for life-time brakes( a scam within itself). Is not free lifetime brakes. You have to pay at least $100 for them every time you go. The way they advertise is so deceiving. I went ahead with it and they never explained anything to me. I asked about it and they BSed me up and down. I went ahead and decided to change the breaks and rotors. We had agreed on a price before hand and after car was ready for pickup they completely changed there attitude and said I needed to pay more and when I said we had agreed on a price they didn't want to hear it and said that couldn't possibly be true. Not only that but when I went to pay and had no choice and I said I wouldn't never return because they are thieves... The price on the payment sheet clearly showed taxes were included..... They man who rang me up put the full price in and then added taxes a second time. When I had realized what he did I told him " you just charged taxes twice". He got very nervous and frantic and Said your correct and quickly slipped me a $20 bill when I had payed with a credit card. At that point I was so sickened by the experience that I took my car and left... To my amazement when I went over the bill later on at home I realized that he actually owed me more back and shortchanged me... I'm so sick with this place... Customers be ware. Ask what they will do and how much it will cost and never listen to what they say about recommendations because it's a tactic they use... You ask for brake pads and they come back to you and say you would benefit with 1000 other things. Disgusting read more

I brought my vehicle in to have my transmission checked out an they quoted me $2960 on a rebuilt one plus the labor. Now once the work was completed the price was raised another $350 from the original quote. Also once they ran a credit check an didn't I didn't qualify they told me they would have to keep the car until the bill was totally paid off after telling me they could work with me. So after a month an a half of making payments I finally get my car back with the check engine light still on an the gas tank light on which it wasn't when I dropped it off. Not only that but the gears started slipping almost immediately. I thought that was the end of it until I got an EZPass violation notice in the mail a couple days ago that was dated for the 11th of Dec. which was 2 weeks prior to me getting it back.. So one of their employees must have taken my car for a joyride out past New Jersey at around 2am! Highly illegal an unethical. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a car repair shop! read more

I went into the Midas in Nanuet, NY after I had the unpleasant experience at my local dealer. As I have felt that I was being overcharged for work, I brought my concerns over to Midas. There I had the pleasure of meeting the Manager John and associate Miguel. I had explained to them what I was concerned about with my brakes , as I did to the dealer. They looked at the vehicle, No charge and came up with an answer, yes, I did need new rotors and brakes but the calipers was seized too, which the dealer missed. The dealer did not explain in detail as John had at Midas even going to the extent of making a small diagram for me to better understand the problem. After all said the cost was still high but the right work was done, I left satisfied and did NOT feel as if I was put through the ringer. It was still cheaper then the dealer. As for Chrysler, their products have become inferior and I will NOT buy another product from them again. Thank you Midas for making my family vehicle safer. read more

terrible told me things were wrong with my car that wasnt stole the change out of my ashtray gave me an invoice that said i declined to have things fixed that they never told me about. sad that they offer a 19.99 oil change but scam you into wasting two hours and hoping to cheat you every other way. read more
