They are very nice, friendly people, but I wish they were as good with cars as they are with customer service. Perhaps they are great at Mercedes, and other European cars, but they don't seem to be too good with Honda's. I don't remember why I decided to go there in the first place, I think it was open and I needed an opinion. Anyway, long story short, I went there multiple times to find out why my check engine light was on, and was charged to replace solenoids thinking that would solve the problem. It didn't. I needed my transmission rebuilt instead, which apparently they didn't realize the first several times I brought the car in and waited there. So I got charged for something I might not have needed if only they'd realized the trans was bad. Then later on I accidentally cracked my bumper cover and found the part myself and had them put it on. However they did a poor job and as a result my wheel well covering on my passenger side came off on the highway costing me more money to replace. Also now, the transmission is giving me issues again due to a bad torque clutch convertor, so I'm not sure if they just put in a faulty part and didn't realize or if it's the cars fault. Either way, I'm not going back for them to guess what's wrong. The good thing is like I mentioned, they are great with customer service, or at least if you're a girl they are. The wife did allow me to pay off the bill in installments as I couldn't afford to pay it all at once, so that was very, very, very much a good thing for which I am very thankful. Also they fixed my sisters car and as far as I know she's had no issues, but she drives a Volkswagen Passat which is a German manufacturer so I'm not too surprised there that she's had no problems. The short version is, nice people, but if you don't have a Mercedes or a very similar German car, don't go there, they won't be able to help you as well as other places. Try Apollo tire or Denville Transmission if you need stuff done. Much, much, much more reliable and also nice people. read more

I had the worst experience here. My car is old but its in good shape. Car starting overheating a week ago and Felipe "FIXED" it 200 bucks and left the engine completely dirty. A week later it started smoking again, radiator had no antifreeze, he messed under the hood a few minutes, and it worked until Monday. Car died completely. He's had it 3 more days, said he's looking, 59 cars in the lot all lifts taken, but he just can't figure it out. I brought a tow, and found that he left all the parts loose on the engine, some on the ground, removed spark pkugs so the car doesn't even turn on. He's got a real racket going on there. He will avoid you like the plague and give you all kinds of excuses. read more

The first time I went to Precision with my Mercedes, Filipe spent 2 hours diagnosing a problem with my front end suspension. He told me I would have to go to a wheel alignment specialist before he could complete the repairs. It is obvious he is an expert and very knowledgeable - he refused to take any payment until I could return with the computer print out and he could complete the repair properly. It is so refreshing to find a mechanic that will take the time to accurately diagnosis the problem. Based on web reviews and a long conversation with the owner I thought I found the right mechanic for my vintage Mercedes. Long story short. They installed an exhaust system and used the tired old original dry rotted exhaust hangers to hold up the new exhaust. The exhaust fell off the car today. Thanks guys! They also let the hood fall doing extensive damage to the head light trim and hood stop buffers. Felipe seems to be a knowledgeable Mercedes mechanic, I just don't understand how he could provide such sub par services. This business almost ruined both of my vehicles. Felip tried to tell me I needed a new head gasket. I take it to another mechanic and he said that wasn't the case. Charlie at Precision Auto worked on my transmission and come to find out he didn't seat the tranny filter properly. In the mean time, the transmission fluid was burnt when I had it serviced again. I used to go to these guys but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone again. Bad work from these guys. read more

This shop is great. They have serviced my older Benz and Audi for several years. It sometimes takes longer, because they are careful, but they are fairly priced and do stand by their work. I will keep cars I really do like to drive for longer, since I know they will take care of the problems that inevitably come up, rather than trading for a lesser vehicle that is not as safe or fun.
