Horrible, Horrible. I can't stress the fustr that I have with this shop and how they handled my car. First and foremost after receiving my car the interior was dirty the seats , the trunk I could go on. This wasn't the biggest issue after having my car for quite some time, I was honored with a check engine light, a low tire pressure, a dead battery , ANDDDD a dent with a cracked tail light. When I bought it to the dealership the first thing they said is you should sue that mechanic shop in smalls claim court for you receiving your car back and it's only been the first week with it and all these problems. No stars actually! Your typical car repair shop. They "fix" one thing, break something else, Deny that they broke it, refuse to fix it, and leave you with more problems then you came with. This was the ONE place I was able to take my car to in the Westchester area that I wasn't played off like "yeah we will give you a call" and never did. They were able to take my car in immediately too and they accepted my extended warranty insurance, and the work was finished in no time. No BS, just good quality work, my car was returned in better quality condition than it had ever ran. Sandra and Donald were so kind and accommodating.. when I mentioned my boyfriend was a mechanic they ended up offering him a job there after testing him out first, and he has been there since! Moved to area and encountered issue with our steering. Took it to them and it was a huge repair to steering and Sandra must have called me 5 times with all sorts of other repairs. I agreed to do another major repair (shocks) simply because the steering issue was such a big job I asked wouldn't my labor costs be less if you have to go so far in to the car. She asked husband and agreed that it would take time off! So I had to ask. Then we finally pick up after delays on estimate. Drive off and there's an awful noise. Took it back and "oh we put wrong screw in". 3 months later another issue with original complaint. Steering! Sandra claims this is a different issue. though her receipt tells us to watch the steering fluid ? Well guess what there's a hole in hose. How is it she cautions that and then within a short time I have that problem. Was the first $2,000 repair even necessary? read more

never again!!!!!! i wouldnt refer anyone to them..had my care 7 months and gave me excuse after excuse as to why no one was working on my car whenever i showed up.it wasnt a priority once they got paid in full,then tried to say i had a bill after yall had my car that long. i was having an engine replacent and they found some other things going on, so listening to a family memeber whos dealt with them,i allowed them to fix it. i took my car into the shop nov 18,2022 got it back june of 2023.parts still missing and things i had to replace myself.went to court, the judge told us to go out and talk it over, see we can come to an agreement.we let the judge know we came to an agreement, we were to return to court in jan 20204.well parts were suppose to be ordered within that time frame and she (mrs sandra) said she would call when it came.i didnt get a call so i showed up 2 weeks later.im told the 2 piece came but the rest didnt come yet,they wanted to put everything on at one time. she couldnt do the work because the mechanics were working on other cars that day. soooooooooo i showed a few days later because i still didnt get a phone call or email about the parts. she wasnt there and one of her mechanics put 1 engine splash guard under my car and my amplifier but it still doesnt work.im still waiting on a call or email saying my parts are there til this day plus the car still not running right after 3 motors and a large some of money spent. i waited a week to get a wheel alignment so i went and took it myself.im sending it to a bmw specialist to look it over.like i said went to court and the judge told us to go outside and talk about it. in out conversation i was told and i quote "i never lose a case in front of this judge". that statement was very arrogant of her but turns out i did win my case.i will never go back here and wont recommend to anyone i know read more

Car was left here with air suspension problem. They told me it was the air springs had both of them changed. then they told me by the way you need a new compressor had that changed. And still had the same problem after waiting for 3 weeks to get my car back. To top it off got my car with no gas it was on empty. Now I know why my car wasn't showing up on my gps when trying to track it. they would disable my tracking and use my car for their personal use. Left my car with them with a full tank of gas. One more thing on the day I picked up my car the mechanic tells me you need to flush you antifreeze canister reservoir it's dirty. My car is new and I topped off my canister reservoir a month ago and it was clean inside. I know for a fact he put chunks of grease in there. Once I saw the grease I said these guys are a bunch of crooks and never went back. By the way I fixed my suspension problem one of the hose line had a leak. A 30 dollar hose problem end up costing me time, 200 dollars on cab and Amtrak fair. Stress and $1900 dollars on air springs and compressor that I don't even need. read more

Traveler's Insurance recommended Surgical Auto, and towed my truck there right away. Sandra kept me up to speed with what needed to be done, and everything was fixed quickly. Donald even picked me up in my fixed truck so I could see how well it was running, and so I would have a safe ride back to pay for everything. Successfully sued these con artist and won! Owner lied all through the process even used the same old excuse of "husband having a stroke". Thank God we had pictures of the timing chain pulled off and engine taken apart while sitting in her shop when it was only bought in for a simple clutch job. The reviews written online for Surgical Auto in Mount Vernon NY are completely false. This auto repair shop is a fraudulent business that tricks unsuspecting customers into unnecessary and unauthorized repairs which is illegal. The owner Sandra, is unscrupulous and untruthful. Sandra will not give estimates, will not take calls, changes prices, tampers/destroys and steals parts off of vehicles. She is not a mechanic and the mechanics working there are backyard mechanics who do poor work and are unlicensed. The staff themselves dislikes the owners and will warn you that "They are up to no good". Recently Sandra and her shop destroyed the vehicle of a disabled man, they broke the engine, blew his battery, stole parts and destroyed his coil packs and valves and pulled the timing chain. Then refused to fix the car unless he paid nearly $3,000 when all he needed was a simple repair. These people are heartless crooked scam artist, do not take your vehicle here. This woman is one of the most cruel, uncaring, rude, disgraceful, despicable poor excuse for a business owner I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with and all because I saw fake reviews. I am glad that they took my car warranty after long search and the bad experience of a car deal leaving me with no coverage for what I needed done. It was expensive and took some time. I called Surgical on 11/14/2017 to get an estimate on the repair for a clutch that was on the floor. A child answered the phone and told me to hold on. A female voice answered next and asked did I want the clutch replaced. I said no i want the system analyzed to ascertain the exact issue and that I suspected the slave cylinder. The woman then said so you want the clutch repaired is that it? I said no, I want the system analyzed. She then insisted that that " if the clutch is on the floor should it not be replaced?" I again said not necessarily, to which she replied "I am not going to touch this one"! She could have put a mechanic on who would have understood the jargon thereby offering a hydraulic inspection! I then call her competition where the woman answering the phone understood the issue and got the business! read more

I was enticed in for an oil change based on an advertised special. I called and told the receptionist I wanted to take advantage of the special and told her the year and brand of my car. I also handed in the flyer when I arrived for my appointment and was assured everything was included. After an hour's wait my car was finally attended to, then, I was charged 75% more than the advertised special. When I objected, twice, I was offered a discount on my next oil change as refunding me would cost them $35. If doing business means gouging your customers, I certainly won't be returning. I know many mechanics who charge less for an oil change and tire rotation and certainly don't claim it costs them an arm and a leg to do a refund -nobody would do refunds if it cost that much.
