These guys are the best. I moved to the South Fayette/Bridgeville area and still drive all the way back to go to the Midas in Jefferson Hills. Nick and his team are so professional and friendly. They are honest and I know when I take my car to them they never try to upsell me on anything I don't need. Had a flat tire and had called around to at least 5 other shops. Every other shop could not get me in or told me I'd have to wait 2-3 hours. I called Midas, they told me to come by and they'd get me in as soon as possible. I got there and they took my car right in. I was there for maybe 20 minutes. They found a screw in my tire, pulled it out and plugged the tire, and there was no charge. It was such a small thing but made my entire day go smoother. Never again will I ever go there. I had to get front brakes and rotors twice in one week because they didn't know what they were doing. The second time they had to replace them and said it is a brake hose making the noise again and now this is the third time and after replacing the hose I still hear noise couple days later. The same noise on the same side, they need to go back to school. Very awful experience when Michael's not there. I don't know if it would've made a difference if Mike was there. poor. What a nightmare! Car need new front breaks and whippers for state inspect and had just past Emission a week ago. We drove the call all week including the morning we took to the Midas on Rt. 51 address is 540 Clairton Blvd. The guy said I will get a text message of what the issues they find which I already knew that all I needed was front breaks, pads, and whippers. He said it will be $450+ but he called later in the day and said it will be 593+ which was ok because we elected to doing the state inspection again and not have to go to Pepboys who did the original a week ago. We wish we went back to Pepboys!!! They close at 5pm on Saturdays so when it was 4:30pm and we have not heard from them I decided to call. He said they car was done and we should come pick it up. Once we got there, his payment machine was acting up. I said I hope you are not charging me twice and he said no. Woke up this morning and off-course I see two transactions for 593+ in my bank statements!! That's not even the worst of it!!!! Once I paid, I handed the keys to my wife cuz that is her car and she went to leave and the check engine light was on. This car has NEVER EVER had a check engine light EVER! Most reliable Honda Pilot. So I went back to the guys who all 3 where watching us like a show. I asked him if he knew the Check Engine light was on and that he never mentioned that on the calls we had & that when we brought the car in there was no CEL!!! He said ok lets plug it in and why! At this point I'm already sick to my stomach! Then he came back and said something about and Oxygen sensor then the mechanic who worked on the car came back and said oh it's our Alternator!!! Which one is it??? They he said when he took it for a test drive the lights came on! No Way! Then he said if we try to drive it out of the location that the battery is only showing at 9% and that the call will just stop running on us. This whole time my wife and I are looking at each other wondering how come none of this was mentioned and they just handed the keys to drive an unsafe car!!! I said how much is it to fix and Alternator? He brought a quote for $1440+ and was laughing with his buddies the whole time!!! I knew it wasn't that much for Alternator and when I looked at the details, he was charging us twice for parts!!!! A Reman & a new Alternator! At this point I realize I needed to get my car out to there so Needed to risk it. The car was smoking by the time we got home! No one from the shop was picking up! DO NOT take your car to Midas or this location! Not if you work hard for your money! Nightmare!!! read more

After getting estimates from multiple shops around my area I reluctantly decided to research the "chains". I was getting frustrated because of some bad experiences with them. My last local garage did not tighten my front wheel on and as I was about to get onto Route 28 it began wobbling severely. I barely made it to the shop as they were about to close. Also find out that I was charged for parts and labor for something that wasn't even replaced. I could go on but this type of BS is why I turned to a chain. I just had extensive work/inspection done on my car here at Midas. From the beginning to the end this shop was spectacular. Even though the place is quite busy they take the time to listen and then explain everything in detail. I never felt like just a number. Everybody was pleasant and professional. They worked with me on some of the costs for parts, applied some discount coupons etc.. The estimate fell within range of the other four I obtained, and was less than one of them. Believe all the shining reviews of Eric, Shelby, and these guys. They are well deserved. If you are on the fence about coming here just do it. You wont regret it. Thanks guys! read more

I went in for an oil change for my Dodge Journey and I was very happy with the overall experience! I originally went to Walmart Tire and Lube for my oil change and the wait was 2 hours. I have my 2 year old with me so that would not have worked! In a pinch I went to Midas and the guy told me about an hour wait and was very nice and polite! The oil change did not take more then 20 minutes (which I was so happy for) and it was the first place as a woman entering alone did not try and get ripped off! I have never went anywhere just for an oil change without someone telling me all these expensive things were wrong with my car (and there wasn't). I will keep going back for my oil changes from now on! Also is the same price as Walmart! read more

The only reason I use Midas is because of the excellent service I received out in Aurora. I need to write a review for them...but on to this review. I am highly disappointed. Highly. I agree with the previous reviewer and state inspections. If possible do not get your inspection/emission completed here. They try to charge you for things that have nothing to do with passing/failing. But I wasn't falling for that. What ticked me off about this business...as I said I have used the one in Aurora, CO numerous times, and they price matched. Anytime I found a coupon at one of their competitors, they would honor it. I had a coupon from meineke...and the worker said they don't price match. Since when? Is this company policy now? After I said that they price matched at other locations he backtracked and said that my work completed didn't qualify as services. Are u flipping kidding me? So I used one of Midas' coupons...expecting to receive $30 off. But no, I only qualified for $20 - they don't look at the final total but look at the individual service. So if you had a transmission flush, replace headlights, replace a tire, etc...that coupon on service is only going to apply to that tranny flush. This has left a very bad taste in my mouth for this business. I know that Midas is managed individually...and I have nothing but issues here in the Pittsburgh region. My advice? Find a local small business to get your work done. read more

Brought the car in to have a noise looked at, they said there was nothing wrong. I kept driving it, and a whole bunch of other crap started happening, so I called and Dave, the manager, said he would take a look at it for me. I asked for him to look it over and let me know what is wrong with the car since we just bought it from a sleazy dealer. He told me to come in anytime and he would do that. I drove 30 minutes to this location today. When I get there, the asshole tells me he won't look at the car and I need to just take it back to the people we bought it from. I explained I just wanted him to take a quick look at it and let me know WHAT is wrong with it so that I know how to put my foot down with the sleazy dealer. If I don't know what's wrong, how can I make sure they fix it???? He refused to look at it or even let me finish talking. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

The guys there were fine. Apparently the parts used are not. Rear brake pads and rotors replaced 07-01-2015. Both need replaced 10 months later. Read fine print. Lifetime warranty on BRAKE pads - labor not included. The service writer merely states "lifetime warranty on brakes" I was in a bind, out of town and wish I had more time to shop around. 6/17/17: This is my first dealings with Midas. I got a flat tire (LF) and called for roadside assistance to put my spare on. The spare was bad, so we took it across the street to the Pleasant Hills store, which was about to close. The manager, Eric Cichaski said he didn't have a spare for my car, and couldn't fix it, but that it wasn't bad enough that I couldn't drive it across the street. He took the time to drive across the street, looked at my flat tire and found a nail in it. He told the guy that came to help me to put the spare on and drive it across the street to the store (it was safe enough to drive, like Eric said). Once he took the tire off, he said he could fix it and he did. He also took the time to look at my other tires and checked the air pressure, without charging me. I asked if he could order a spare, he checked all the sites they deal with and no one had one. That was a bummer, because after all he did for me, I couldn't even buy a spare tire from him, which I really wanted to do. My only suggestion for the Katz's would be to deal with at least one tire company that carries spare donut tires. I'm sorry to say you missed a sale today. But because of Eric, I will be back for the excellent customer service, honesty and going the extra mile. I will be recommending the Pleasant Hills store to everyone I know. If there was a way to give them 0 stars I would. They are horrible with the worst sense of professionalism/business ethics. THIEVES and CROOKS. So this will be long. [UPDATE at the bottom] I took my car there for the PA Inspection and an oil change. And they tried to get me to pay $921.88 in unnecessary repairs. $921.88!!!! for something that should not cost more than $90. The 921.88 did not include the oil change by the way. I had purchased my car just over a year ago. It is used but you will not be able to tell. Also recently I took it to the Ford dealership where they had fixed the recalls and any existing problems so I know my car was in good shape. They tried to charge me all that money for things I did not need. They did not do the oil change which I repeatedly asked for because they were so focused on scamming me in other ways. Even though they told me my car failed, they still charged me for the inspection stickers and had the audacity to tell me to ask them to mail the stickers after I have completed the test elsewhere. Who does that? Anyways what happened is below: I just needed the inspection completed and the oil change done. The Manager there insisted I needed to change my Rear Shock absorbers because they were leaking fluid. He "showed" it to me and I could tell the residue there was normal. The kind of residue you will get on any car part/device that uses lubricant. I am sure he assumed I must be a dumb female with no idea about how things work and I would eat up whatever he said. He also told me I had to fix my alignment. By the way, alignment test is not part of the PA Inspection.The manager had informed me I needed to make these repairs before they would pass my vehicle. I had been sitting in the office looking out at my car as they "tested" it and I did not see them do any alignment checks. In fact, the only thing the guy had done was to lift the car and take off the tires. I was actually watching him work on other cars, return to my car to take out the tires, do the emission test and then go talk to his manager. After the manager spoke to me, I simply told him I would ask my husband which shocked him because he did not see that coming. He later tried to ask me how long I had been married and if I had kids as if he was trying to make conversation. Though I knew it was to cover his shock. Whatever. In reality I simply told my husband what transpired and made arrangements for the next day commute to work while I took my car to my trusted auto shop close to my house (I did not go there because they are a local shop not a chain and their operational times conflicted with my work/commute schedule). I took my car in. My mechanic did my test and the car was fine. FINE!!!. I called in and made sure I asked for all the things the MIDAS guys asked for and he told me the rear shock absorbers were fine and did not need change. The alignment was unnecessary, not part of the test and he could do it just to make me feel at ease if I wanted. You should note that I have been going to my auto shop close to my house for years. They never do unnecessary repairs and time and again they would check my car and tell me what needed to be repaired. If it was not an emergency, they will tell me how long the part could last for and when a change is recommended. I trust their judgement. UPDATE: I called them to get a refund on my inspection sticker which they charged me for and did not give to me. They told me I had to go into the shop to get it because they do not save card details. Fair enough. I can be that petty if need be. So I went to the shop and I asked for my refund. He asked me if I was told I did not need the repairs. I told him yes. Then he asked how much I spent on the inspection and I asked him if it mattered. He told me he was going to refund the cost. I did not reply because I really did not care. I just wanted to face him and let him know I knew what they did. He decided to refund about $42 and free oil change but I told him I ready changed my oil. Thanked him and left. read more

Word of warning when getting a state safety inspection, unnecessary maintenance is money out of your pocket and cash in their register. Upon receiving an inspection, I was informed that my vehicle failed due to excessive front end play. Having a copy of the Pennsylvania State Code 175.80 (inspection procedures for cars and small trucks), I cited the paragraph to the Midas maintenance representative, noting that the discrepancy was well within the states acceptable limits. At this point I was informed that they are held to a higher standard, in which the maintenance representative cited the manufactures maintenance procedures for installation of a new part. Some question to ask yourself, why is there a tolerance in the state code or why does the state code not have a note (See Manufacturer's Maintenance Manual). It appears to be an abuse of the state safety inspection. Makes me wonder if there in a commission given to the employees for work performed. read more
