DO NOT BUY TIRES HERE! If you are a regular here, I urge you to go somewhere else. If you are thinking of coming here, don't!! After Rich left, the place is not the same. I have been coming here for 28 year and my family and I have purchased over 100 tires during this time and have never had an issue with workmanship or, have been treated as rude as I was when purchased 4 new tires in May of this year. I bought 4 Cooper tires that kept needing to be re balanced due to poor workmanship. Scott the manager insisted that the tires were not suitable for my car and forced me to purchase an upgraded tire which I did at an extra cost of $300. The same issue continued as these tires kept coming out of balance. Randomly stopped by another tire shop to see if they can help and they felt bad for me for the negligence that they saw.. They stated that Mr Tire used weights that should be used on trucks and that every tire was "counterbalanced" . They provided me the measurements to prove it. They re-balanced my tires on July 31 (at no charge!) and I have not had an issue since. Previously, during 4 other trips back to Mr Tire to resolve this issue, I kept telling Scott that the issue was tire balancing which he disagreed only to blame my car. When I insisted that they needed re-balanced, he stated, "IF YOU KNOW SO MUCH, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE" in front of 4 customers who were standing behind me. Worse, when I tried to file a complaint with their Corporate office, Monro Tire, I was on hold several times for over 20 minutes, was hung up several times and was told there is nothing they can do. As I stated way above, there are some good people at the desk however, save yourself from any future issues. Trust me, if there is one as a result of their poor workmanship, they will not resolve it for you. read more

Those leaving 3 stars appear to be very kind after my experience booking an appointment. Luckily I did not follow through and cancelled after an alarming display of Scott seeking to instill in me fear for desiring less than his recommended methods and seeking to charge almost double what I have been accustomed to recently. Far more honest and courteous mechanics before I moved to this neighborhood would call him a sore thumb among folks of their craft. Scott was simply fussy and crass despite how calm and friendly I was towards him, even to the effect of ignoring a few of my questions completely until I repeated myself and also to arrogantly correct me as if to establish superiority (force my trust?) which only works on insecure and desperate people. read more

The service counter ordered tires and call when they came in . Went to get them replaced and it was smooth and quick . great place to get tires. Service and quick reasonably priced. My truck drives so good after the new tires were put on . they supplied drinks and a waiting area . read more

We've gone to the Latrobe location for years but happened to be in the Irwin area with our dog when the oil light suddenly came on. I stopped in hoping they could tell me what kind of oil I needed to get so I could try putting a quart in to see if that resolved it. They had me pull the car in, checked the oil and got me on my way. Super helpful, very understanding that I had my dog and didn't expect to stop. read more

We had a completely blown out tire, managed to get towed to this nearby shop, 45 minutes after they had closed for the night. The two workers still on the premises were absolute angels, and helped us get back on the road despite being closed. Would 100% recommend them to anyone in need of assistance, whether from in town or out. We were several states away from home, and appreciate their kindness and generosity so so so much. read more

Most employees are very polite and helpful, one of very few places that will not try to convince you to pay to fix anything that is working/functioning properly. Not too great as far as price compared to other local chains and private auto service businesses, but not surprising as very rarely do "chain/franchise" style businesses of any kind offer comparable rates/discounts/promotions of a privately owned business. read more

I have gone to this location many times over the past few years for wheel and tire work, and have never had a problem.

These guys were fantastic today, they really helped get us back on the road fast, following a freak accident on the Turnpike that resulted in a blowout. We were able to get to them on our spare, but we were still 3 hours away from home and desperate to get to the end of our two-day journey. Josh and Mike hooked us up very quickly, with two new front tires and a realignment at a great price. I can't thank them enough for the courtesy, efficiency and kindness they showed our family this afternoon! Our family of six got some treats at the 7-eleven next door and they were done in a flash. I took my car in for emission and inspection, I was told I should do the 60,000 mile tune up. I accepted. $900 dollars later I drove off the lot with my check engine light on!! I took it to another mechanic and was told that the coolant was drained and never replaced! Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. I will never, ever return. read more

Not only are these guys professional and efficient, but they have hearts of gold. I came across Mr. Tire in Irwin PA completely by chance and arguably by the grace of God. See, I only became acquainted with this business because my car broke down 6 hours into my 11 hour drive from Southern MD to Michigan. My car broke down on the Pennslyvania turnpike on a Sunday.... HOWEVER, it was not just just any Sunday. It was the Sunday before Memorial Day. This was only the beginning of the long string of bad luck I was to be dealt that day. Long story short-1. my insurance company contacted a tow company they didn't even support, thus the payment was out of pocket 2. The tow company literally dropped me off at the auto mechanic and while I was inside, they literally drove off without checking to make sure everything was ok 3. Prior to leaving, the tow guy informed me that this business did free diagnostics and would be open until 7 pm ( this was untrue : the diagnostics was to cost approx.100 dollars and they actually closed at 5 pm). 4. I was dropped off at 4 pm- 1 hour before they close. Thus giving the mechanics VERY little time to figure out what is going on with my car. Well they actually managed to figure out what was going on- my throttle body was malfunctioning and would need to be replaced. No big deal, however they did not currently have it. This was particularly nerve racking because the next day was Memorial Day and the likelihood of not only locating the piece and getting the piece there by the evening was impossible before they closed. I was stranded. I had to locate and book a hotel/ travel to the hotel in about 20 min before they closed. Again, no big deal right? Not the case. Called two local taxi companies to no avail and the nearest uber was 45 minutes away. Again, I was stranded. This is when I am BLOWN away by the service of Mr. Tire's following employees: Kevin and Ken. Kevin took it upon himself to call several business around the area to plead with them to work with him in order to help locate the piece and strenuously organize the pick up for the part. He not only located the part, but made sure the part was going to be there FIRST thing the next morning. Again, mind being that it was Memorial Day. They had the part there by the time they opened at 7:30 and I was back on the road by 10 AM. That is absolutely incredible! By the way, my car has never run this good!!!! Finally there was Ken. Ken... There are few words that can even express my gratitude to you. You went out of your way and went above and beyond to make sure I was okay and safe. Instead of heading home after work, you took it upon yourself to drive completely out of your way to take me to my hotel. However, you did not stop there. You ensured that I made it into the hotel safe AND came to pick me up the very next morning so I could get back to my car. And finally, you brought me to absolute tears when I received a text message from you later on that afternoon checking in to make sure I made it home to Michigan safe. You are a beautiful person and literally my saving grace. Needless to say. If you need an honest and down to earth place to go for an auto mechanic, please take your business here. we have owned our lexus for over three years and have had our oil changes at serveral different locations including the lexus dealer and have paid between $50-65 per oil change. I recently had my wife run it in to a Mr. Tire right down the road from our house that was advertising a $18 oild change (for most cars) . I realized ours would be more expensive but when she returned home with a bill for $102? She was told that the tech "fixed" her tire pressure monitor issue while he was at it and this was the reason for the extra charge. First of all this car has had a tpms issue for over a year and comes back on no matter what which it did on her way home from mr. tire. Secondly nobody asked her permission to do anything but change her oil. After looking at her bill they charged her $14/quart for valvoline synpower which is easily found online for about $7/quart plus the extra b.s. Somebody saw a woman by herself and took advantage. Shame on you Mr. tire in irwin pa. on arona road. She needs tires in a couple months and is also do for a major servce neither of which will be done at this place! read more

Can't rate their expertise, but can sure warn people about their inflated prices. Tires are reasonable, but prices can be beaten. Other services are far too expensive. Inspection, brakes, rotors, oil change and tire rotation = $600. What a rip off! I would never again do business with these guys! read more
