Can't say enough good things about this place. They are very honest and competent. We were driving through Sierra Vista about a month ago and find out our brake lights were out. They thought that we had a bad connector which they ordered, turned out it was just the bulbs- they replaced them for just the cost of the bulbs. They could have charged us for the other part (which would have been a lot more) and for additional labor- but they did not. read more

Used online service request to request an oil change. The called me immediately. I had a promo code and I was quoted $49.95. They read my request to me and knew the type of vehicle and it's requirement for oil capacity. When I showed up they lied to me and told me they had to charge for five more quarts of oil because gee whiz that car sure needs a lot of oil. So they said the price was double, $99.90. Total bs baiting is all this is. Midas in SV has a terrible re reputation. I should have known better. Lying pieces of garbage who prey on the unknowing and unsuspecting. I do realize that what they did is illegal, but why argue? Who knows what they would have done to my car had I successfully argued the quoted price? I needed a quick oil change and the Midas team helped me out. I called the same day for service and was told to bring in my Saturn. The guy at the counter (don't recall his name) was very professional, not only with me but by my observation of him answering calls and helping other customers. He also offered me a bottle of water. The glass dividers between the waiting room and service area allow you to see them work. The technicians seems thorough checking for any leaks, checking tire pressure, and other fluids. Brought in my mini copper with a new cabin filter and asked if they could install it for me. A very helpful associate assisted with taking out the old filter just to realize I brought in the wrong replacement. We then left to buy the right one but couldn't find it in town. Went back and the same associate kindly put the old filters in for us. Great customer service! read more

I am not normally a gusher. But Scott and David at Midas here in town truly understand customer service. They go above and beyond to make sure not only their customers problems are taken care of, but that their customers are as happy and comfortable as possible while waiting. From the fish tank and toys and books for kids to enjoy to the candy machines they give you coins for to the free Wi-Fi, they provide so much more than bare bones car service. Additionally, their prices are fair and I have never felt pressured once or like they were trying to upsale me. They simply educate and offer solutions, but leave me free to make the call I feel best without interfering on an emotional level. Scott himself is sooo friendly and bends over backwards to make his customers feel valued and taken care of just in his demeanor and personality alone. Both he and David strive to develop a personal relationship with their customers and it makes me feel like part of the Midas FAMILY and takes my personal brand loyalty (as well as this particular franchise) to the next level. read more

I am apparently one of the lucky few who didn't have any significant problems with the Sierra Vista Midas before it was sold to a new owner earlier this year. I do have an inherent distrust of auto repair shops, so it takes a lot to win me over, and I've never been particularly loyal to a shop, either. But I have to say, I kind of like Midas. They've always done service on my cars and I regularly get coupons in the mail for discounts. Last year for Christmas they gave me a free oil change. Woohoo! Considering I barely drive my van and only take it in for oil changes about twice a year, I thought that was pretty awesome of them. This week I had to get some maintenance work done (I have a 10-year-old van, and it needs lots of TLC) and they were quick about it. I was only without my van for a day and a half, which was nice, especially considering they had to take out the gas tank and replace a bunch of stuff. They offered to drive me home and pick me up, and Scott was super helpful about explaining everything that's dead, dying, or still working fine on my vehicle. He's also very optimistic that I will be able to keep this clunker running for my goal of another six to ten years, which is A-okay with me. Like I said, I'm inherently distrustful of auto repair shops, so I can't bring myself to give more than four stars yet, but if the exemplary customer service continues and I never feel like they're trying to take advantage of me- which would be awful because I really do like these guys- I would have no problem bumping this review up to five stars. :-) I definitely recommend this shop over anywhere else I've been in town. read more

One thing I am always dreading is vehicle maintenance appointments! Personal experiences in the past always made me feel like they (auto shops) knew I don't know much about vehicles (being female)- so I would feel like I wouldn't really have a choice but to pay whatever estimate was given because I need my vehicle. So, it was that time again to have my vehicle maintained. I gave Midas in Sierra Vista, AZ a call and scheduled my appointment. Let me tell you, I was nothing but absolutely AMAZED !! Scott & his team make you feel like family the minute you walk in the door. He kept me informed as to what was being done on the vehicle every step of the way & his prices are absolutely reasonable. This was my first time getting any work done at this Midas, and if it wasn't for me pcsing, it would definitely not be my last. The owner is a veteran and definitely takes care of the military folks and I can't imagine he'd treat anyone any differently. Bottom line, great service, polite, and professional. I highly recommend. My F-150 was leaking from somewhere in the undercarriage. They lifted it up, found the issue quickly, and explained everything to me and didn't tell me I needed to fix a thousand other things they just happened to find. (Which is one thing I'm always afraid of when taking my vehicle in alone. That they'll assume I'm a dumb girl who knows nothing about cars and they can get over on me.) They told me what the problem was, SHOWED it to me, and said this is what we have to do, this is how much, no BS, no hassle. They didn't try to hustle me, which I always appreciate. I even paid less than what I was quoted after the military discount. I hope I find service like this at my next duty station. read more

My woman had her car towed to Midas after speaking to David over the phone when her car wouldn't start up due to an engine problem. After getting to Midas David and James informed us that the engine was glued together because the head gasket sealant that was put into the coolant mixes with the oil. This isn't even true, can't even happen, and what's funny is they told us the next day there was no water in the oil, well no kidding. James even asked her "what would you be willing to take for the car?" because the engine was probably "shot". David and James all let us know that the damage done by my stepson and his mechanic friend had caused the engine to become seized and that the IAC sensor or Idle Air Control sensor isn't working. David told us "... it could cost 700 to 800 dollars but it's not guaranteed it would work, look I just want to be honest with you here." Sure the customer service was great, because they were participating in a scam and if it wasn't for me getting on my phone and googling 2004 Mazda RX8 issues specifically regarding what we were experiencing they would had either bought the car off my woman or she was going to have to have it towed to a salvage yard! Are you kidding me? Of course that wasn't going to happen, well after telling David what I was reading he informed us they could change the oil, coolant fluid and the spark plugs and charged her just under 300 dollars!! She went to pick up the car the next day after speaking to David that morning, he telling her, "sorry we couldn't figure what's wrong," she paid the money and left. She right away took it too another shop who actually fixed the issue which was bad ignition coils, now the car is working better than ever before. So, after everything has been said and done, Midas will never get our business again, and we will definitely let others know about our experience. Seems like everything was a scam, the bad spark plug they conveniently showed us, James asking my woman what she'd be willing to take for the car, and then David saying the repairs could be around 800 and that's not a guarantee it would work. Just ridiculous, thanks guys, that 300 dollars would be nice if it was refunded, that's about to the extend I'd deal with this Midas location. read more

We have a pt who was in need of lots of TLC! We took brought it in being new to this town...and wouldnt take it anywhere else! They got back to us quickly and fixed everything fast!!!! Great price and honest about everything that needed to be done! He had to take it back a couple days later and the ossue wasnt even because of them and they fixed it at no cost! Absolutely most horrible service ever! Went for an oil change, came back in an hour and my car wouldn't start. At all. Which was funny because how did they drive it out of their garage area? Any whom, after another hour of them trying to resuscitate my vehicle they said I could, "Drive it home while keeping my foot on the gas, (because if I took it off the gas it will stall) and bring it back tomorrow." Because that's safe right??? And as a professional mechanic, wouldn't they know how much of a hazard that is on the road? Shouldn't they have recommended me not to take it off the lot? How repulsive they would offer that. Anyway luckily enough, a friend of my fathers repaired the whole issue. WHICH MIDAS CREATED. Horrible, horrible place. I have more nasty words for them but I'll settle with: Most ignorant, unprofessional experience of my life. STAY AWAY. *They don't even deserve that one star. Alright, this is probably the most ridiculous service experience I have ever had. I went in and scheduled an appointment to have my brakes done. I dropped my car off and was told by a very pleasant man that they would do an inspection and call me with the results. I had had some other service done up the road about a month ago and was told I had about 20% pads left. When Scott called he told me I was at 2% and I needed new rotors. I had never had my rotors turned before so I asked why and told them I had conflicting information. I came in and was offered to be shown. I appreciated this, but wanted to be sure before I authorized work to be done, as I am sure anyone would with conflicting information. So I pushed my stroller and two year old out to the shop and the very pleasant manager (Scott Fincher) pointed to my rotors and said they were worn. As my eyes are not calibrated to read measurements in the thousandths, I asked if he could show me the measurement. Suddenly he stated in a hostile and condescending tone, "You mean the micrometer reading?" I said, "yes". He replied, "How about I put the wheels on your car and you take it out of my shop? You came in here questioning me from the first moment. We are a shop that prides ourselves on integrity, and you are basically calling me a liar. I don't even want your business." (As if I grew up with this guy or did any business with him in the past causing me to trust him over another expert.) Anyone who responds in this manner to a request that would take 2 minutes and validate his claim is not a man to be trusted. So I responded by saying, "I think you are a liar." His reply: "We are experts, why did you even come here? We're the experts right?" He then pulls out a micrometer and shows me the reading and then points to a book that says the acceptable amount. (less than 2 minutes) The reading was above the amount in the book. I say, "That's more than the acceptable amount." He replies, " I have to remove .15, are you having trouble with the math? Get out, get out of my shop." I ask for his last name and his district manager's contact and he repeats his demand for me to leave. Reluctantly I go into the parking lot. He follows me. After that the exchange became inappropriate and obscene on both sides. Bear in mind, my 2 year old daughter is still in the stroller while this man chastises me for my desire to verify what needs to be done. I can't say I have no blame in the exchange in the parking lot. I certainly said my share of nasty things, but it was not unprovoked. He then tells me to leave the parking lot and wait in the neighboring lot while his employees put my car together. I complied. I then left. I went across the street to Brake Masters, they showed me everything with a smile. There was a long wait as they were quite a bit busier, but I certainly understand why. They got my business for the brakes and a few other jobs making for a decent ticket for them and my return business. For what it's worth Scott was not lying, at least not about the rotors. I was leaning toward believing him until he told to take my car and go. I don't trust anyone that tries to intimidate his customers into taking him at his word in the face of conflicting information. I contacted customer care and was told a district manager would get back to me within 48 hours, but that was 5 days ago and I've heard nothing. I suppose this is either a regular thing or the DM is apathetic. A co worker I trust was shocked and he knew Scott by name and said, "he must have been having a bad day." He said he had done a lot of business with them and had never heard anything like that. Maybe that was the case. Either way I don't recommend you go there unless you are particularly trusting of mechanics you have never met before. read more
