They didnt bleed our brakes properly. They failed while driving home and my wife almost plowed into another car. Because of the brakes not being bled properly the brake booster failed and began making our car rev on its own from a vacuum leak cause from their failure. I called them and the manager had the audacity to say it wasnt the booster it was the master cylinder. Anyone who knows anything about cars knows master cylinders dont cause that problem. Im currently bringing my car to another mechanic to build a court case against them. Horrible not certified mechanics. Don't go here read more

I arrived on time for an 9AM oil change/tire rotation appointment. By 10AM service had not yet begun. No explanation from customer service as to when the work would begin nor any apology for the delay. In the meantime customers are walking in with no appointments asking to fix tires etc... which appear to be addressed. This facility opens at 8AM. How do you schedule so poorly to be at least an hour behind schedule in only two hours? The purpose of an appointment is to begin the requested service at, or at least near the scheduled time....didn't come close. I left with no services performed, very dissatisfied and won't be back. read more

My pickup was in one of the bays most of the morning waiting on Napa to warranty my battery. I was shocked by how little my bill was. They recognized I was at their mercy and I had no control over Napa and their bench testing. Quite happy with their service. Napa did replace my warrantied battery at no charge, i actually got money back and a new battery. This day, Midas shined. read more

Was not impressed at all with the customer service. Called to see if they had availability that day and they said i didn't need an appointment as long as i worked with them on time they would get me in for an oil change. Gave them my name and told them what time i would be there. I got there at the time i said i would for the oil change and asked them to also check my tires because they were shaking when i accelerated in the highway, he said no prob. Free of Charge. An hour and half later when my car was "done" it took the guy 15 min to ring me up just to charge me $40 for the tire check that nothing got done and i was told was free AND let me know he didn't do an oil change and had the AUDACITY to say "If this is my worst mistake all day I'm doing good"?!?! Apparently their customers valued time isn't there priority! I would NOT recommend going here with that mentality in a business! read more

Okay, this place isn't as bad as the reviews make it sound. I've been going to this place for about three years now for my regular oil changes and little repairs etc. and I have not been disappointed. Wes, the lovely old man behind the counter is hilarious and has great customer service. He is a joy to work with and their mechanics shoot straight and tell you when you don't need service if it isn't necessary, even if it means they could have taken you for a ride just for the dime. Amazing place! I had friendly service right away as I walked in. I asked for and oil change and they serviced my broken headlight as well! It was more than just an oil change, I knew my car was in good hands. There were also more little commodities as well! And at a really good price. Midas is a scam. I took my car to Midas to get my tire rotated. I bought my tires there. I was told they could not rotate the tires because I needed my tyrods repair at $1000.00. The guy that works at the desk talks on the phone telling his boss he is trying to make sales. While i was waiting every person seemed to have some problem for a routine visit. I took my car to another mechanic and he said there was nothing wrong with my car. It appears the lazy mechanic didn't want to work on my car because they wouldn't make any money from me. I hope people get a second opinion before. You pay Midas any money. They just want your money. They will find a problem even if there is not one. read more

Yesterday and everyday that I go to Midas all I ever receive is the utmost courtesy and respect. The customer service is stellar and Horst is a fantastic person --he is honest and never tries to sell you something you do not need unlike some of the other shops in town. the shop is friendly and extremely neat and clean as well as very well organized. This Midas is a place you can go to with confidence that you will be treated fairly and also efficiently. I had the privilege of meeting Will and he is a very courteous person as well. They doubly overcharged me for reconditioning Rotors for my front brakes and led me to believe they were new ones. In addition after a check engine light came on they diagnosed my car needing an old fashioned tune-up. In the process they did not check the timing belt which had 80,000 miles on it. The timing belt broke and ruined the engine just minutes from leaving their shop. They did tow in the vehicle and determined the engine was toast. In closing up the hood of the car they didn't re-secure the engine covering and closed the hood over them causing the hood being damaged. I feel they are a pretty inept crew of mechanics and would not trust them to do any work on any vehicle. read more

Worst place on the peninsula to get your car fixed. They're thieves. They make up false diagnosis to get more money out of you and I'll never give them another dime. When you say it will be $90 to fix something I expect it to be $90 when I come pick up. Not $300. The problem wasn't even fixed. You lost customers this month. Good job. read more

A lot of people seem to have had good experiences with Midas, so I took my car into Midas in Soldotna to get my tires changed over. I can get past my car being forgotten by them for an entire day, being that it is tire change over season. But the part that I can't excuse is having my car falsely diagnosed. They told me that the tie rod ends were worn out and about to come off but when I took it to another shop to have them replaced, they told me that they were as good as new and that I had been misled. They even showed me the part. Bottom line, I will not be taking my vehicle to Midas in Soldotna again because they falsely drummed up a diagnosis to make more money off of me. I can't trust that way of doing business. read more
