This is a state of the art swim complex with Olympic size swimming pool that is 50 meters. There is a large viewing area that accommodates 500 spectators. There are three diving boards, including one high dive. There is a large full color graphics score board. They host regional, state and college swim events here. There is a kids area with splash pool, water slides and lazy river. There is a warm water therapy pool. Just to address a couple complaints. You cannot bring in outside food. That is because there is a diner that is run by a third party. As part of their contract they have exclusive rights to food. Having a full service food option at the facility is excellent. It is completely fair for them to have exclusive rights. They pay rent, staff the restaurant and even when the place is empty. The complaints about life guards are strange. This place is very well supervised. Why is that a bad thing? Children need to behave and if your kids can't, go somewhere else. Place is amazing and a treasure for Sioux Falls. Keep up the great work.

pool is great but I was disappointed that the lockers don't have locks on them. My son and his friend had their wallets stolen.

Just to give full history: We enrolled our two sons. First Semi-Private Lesson (Trial): One of two lessons that had no issues. Second Semi-Private Lesson: We enrolled on the app. We had the confirmation email. We arrived on time. They didn't have us on the schedule for the day. They spent five minutes trying to figure it out. Our kids spent 20 minutes in the water. Third Semi-Private Lesson: There was a "Code Brown" so we needed to make up the class. Not there fault. Fourth Semi-Private Lesson: The second lesson that had no issues. Fifth Semi-Private Lesson (Make-Up): We scheduled on the app for the 9:15am-9:45am class on a Saturday. We received an email that this was our time to go in. We arrived at this time and sent our kids in. There was 5 minutes of confusion in the pool area where Our kids went from one teacher to another and then they were sent out at 9:30am. Apparently although we had confirmation that the class was at 9:15am, their system said 9am in some locations and 9:15am in others. Confused we tried to talk to the older receptionist/admin on duty. She was adamant that we were in the wrong and that we were being rude although she was raising her voice to us. I then showed her the confirmation email which resulted in her changing her tone. In all this confusion, they "graciously" let our kids go back in the pool for another 10 minutes. After which I asked for a printout of their remaining classes and to have them dropped from the program after with the younger receptionist/admin. She did explain that it was a fairly new system and that she could see the discrepancy. What left a real soar spot for me about this whole experience was that nobody apologized for this situation. I was obviously upset about what was happening. Not necessarily at them but about the situation and how they didn't seem to care to help resolve it. They cared more about explaining why it wasn't there fault and making us out to be the bad guys then trying to rectify the issues their system caused. A little customer service to address a poor situation goes along way.

The YMCA is an awesome place to workout. They recently upgraded all of their cardio equipment,…read morethey have numerous classes to take (Yoga, Pilates, Boot Camp, etc), great lifting equipment, full basketball courts, racquetball court, great staff and the option for indoor and/or outdoor pool access with your membership (at an additional cost). Their prices are very reasonable as well. I paid $636.65 (tax included) for a yearly family membership with the indoor pool option, which included two free months (New Years Resolution rate). Before you say, "Whooooah, that seems expensive!!", understand this price comes out to be only $1.498 per day (at 14 Months/425 days). Now divide that by the number of family members you have and it really becomes apparent how economical it really is. Just for kicks, compare that price to a larger metropolitan facility in Iowa, such as Prairie Life Fitness in Des Moines at $2.33 a day for an individual month to month membership (NOT including unnecessary and expensive sign-up fees). Living in the Ice Cream Capital of the World and the surrounding area, certainly has it's cost of living advantages. If you want to workout (or workOFF that ice cream weight) there are also three large economically priced workout facilities to choose from: 24 Hour Fitness on Hwy 75, The Body Shop on Central Ave. and the YMCA on 12th St. The 24 Hour Fitness and The Body Shop facilities definitely have a clear advantage over the YMCA if you can't workout during the day - they have better hours. 24 Hour Fitness and The Body Shop are open all hours of the day (including holidays), compared to the YMCA at 5 AM to 10 PM Monday through Thursday, 5 AM to 8 PM Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Saturday and 1 PM to 5 PM on Sunday. Although I have not researched the cost of 24 Hour Fitness, compare the YMCA's Family Membership cost with The Body Shop's (for the same promo period as the YMCA). The Body Shop's Family Membership is $577.16 (tax included) for thirteen months for the cost of twelve ($1.461 per day). However given the number of additional amenities included with the YMCA membership (indoor pool, showers, courts, classes, etc) for only about $59.50 more than The Body Shop's, the Y's membership benefits simply outweigh The Body Shop's hands down.

Yes it was lunchtime but I still should've been kept up to speed. My pedicure took way too long, the student was friendly but slow and did not do a good polish job. I was there 3 1/2 hours for 3 procedures. When I got to the front, the cashier, who I'm assuming wasn't a student but a coach, rang me up. Didn't say a word to me. Didn't look at me. There was no customer service like "how was everything?". The pedicure coach had already checked the work and asked me if I was satisfied but the person who is taking my money should definitely be thanking me. Overall summary: there was no urgency to anyone and it took way longer than it should have and almost everyone looked unhappy. The procedures I had were fine, would I go again yeah but I wouldn't do three things. I would only do just a pedicure/manicure or just a facial but not a bunch of stuff because it'll take too long. I know the students need to be careful but they also need to respect our time. Also no one asked if I wanted anything to drink or showed me where the restrooms were, etc., these are all expectations at a salon now so the students should be practicing this as well.

The instructor came out and kept talking about how they could only use 10 developer and how I would have to come back for multiple sessions for my highlight to go a couple of shades lighter than my natural dark blonde light brown hair. I HAVE NEVER had to go back to the salon to have my hair bleach a couple of shades lighter. Then the instructor was trying to convince me I am a medium brunette. I have light eyebrows and bleach blond arm and leg hair. I was getting frustrated because it should not be that hard to blend 2 to 3 inches of regrowth into my old highlight. In the end, I was told I would have to come back because they could not understand what I wanted. I WASTED my whole afternoon going here from Brookings and back. Very unprofessional instructors.
