I bought my retirement home by the sea seven years ago and happily financed it through The First National and was extremely pleased with the care and service I received from Petrea Allen (now retired).  I never thought that I would ever find anyone who could possibly match the TLC that I received. When I decided to apply for a HELOC with The First in Ellsworth I found Ms. Lorianne Jackson and Ms. Emily Lajoie and they are an extraordinary asset to the First.  They went above and beyond my expectations and I thought you should know about these wonderful ladies.  For example, my LLC had mistakes that were made when I bought the property....Lorianne and Emily pointed this out and I have contacted Ellen Best to ask that she correct her mistake!  They also noted mistakes on my IRS returns that were NOT in my benefit.  These ladies are neither CPAs or Attorneys, but they are extremely bright and alert and should be recognized for their due diligence as well as their timeliness and efficiency.

Last winter, I did a crazy thing and let a homeless lady stay in my car because I don't drive it…read morevery much. (It had been in the single digits outside the previous night and she was sleeping outside.) One day she decided to keep my car, I had to call the police to get it back, and then she kept my only ignition fee. So, because I live on Social Security and am pretty poor, my family sent me $500 to change all of the locks on my car. My credit union wouldn't cash the check for me even though they had done that for me previously, but my friend had a Bath Savings Institution account. She took my check, deposited it into her account via ATM and gave me the money, so that I was able to keep the homeless lady from taking my car or stripping the parts. That is when I decided to get a Bath Savings account. I am now a loyal BSI customer.

I pay my parents rent by putting their cash in my account and paying their rent through my cash app account. well I put 1800.00 in by breaking it up but before I left to go to the bank I counted their money and there was exact amount 1800.00 well the machine was acting up and kept spitting money out but at the end I didn't get 60.00 back but when i moved over to the other machine people were using the machine that wasn't acting right. well according to the woman I spoke to she said what happened was a penny jammed in there anyways to make my point the denied there was any extra 60.00. after their supposedly audit. 3rd times the charm for me. time to find a new bank. done with it.

What a breath of fresh air! Having banked with wells Fargo…read morefor three years in DC I was so ready for a small bank like this. When I went in to the bank to open my account I couldn't have had better timing. They were having a customer appreciation party with prizes and goodies galore. There were cupcakes with cider, popcorn and chili, cornbread and sweets it was fabulous. It took no time at all for me to open the account and get my free wind chime (that was made in Maine of course). Now I use the drive through bank teller more often than not as my pup LOVES getting a treat. Without fail, when I pull into the bank parking lot his tail starts wagging like crazy. I was given referral slips and you can bet I used them. I wouldn't stop talking about the bank for about a month. A definite favorite at parties. ;-)
