Had my 2006 Prius completely detailed, interior, exterior and engine for the first time. Will not wait another 19 years to have done again. Overall, I would give 2.5 to 3 stars to this business. Not sure if it was a language barrier but I though we mutually understood of the services that would be done on my wife's car. I expected from $300 that at least the inside windshield would not streaky, the wax buff with machine would be done instead of just washing the car, no grease fingers all over the place, bird poop remaining on the front hood would be washed and buffed like agreed which I could see 6 feet away. Not sure if I would go back there. read more

I give them a 5 for customer service. They dropped my car at my house because I could not pick it up. That was a big help. I hate to do it but I gave them a 3 for the actual detailing. For example - there was a couple spots of tried tree sap in the hood. I licked my fingernail and gently scratched off. They should not have missed those spots. The interior was ok/good. Little hazy here and there. Missed a spot here and there. read more

As a person who works in the dog handling and training industry, I am well aware of the fact that sh*t happens (literally). About a month ago I purchased a new SUV for hauling dogs around. It was beautiful, it's a couple years old but perfect condition. Less than a week of having it and the day before I was going to purchase liners, and a client dog had a serious accident in my back seat. My seats are fabric. Mesh, to be specific. I was horrified, my brand new car reeked, I couldn't get it out of the seats, and I was concerned that I would have to reupholster seats in the car I just bought. Enter Middlesex Auto Reconditioning. This was the first place I called, and when I described the issue they said they would have to look at it before they could say for sure if they could clean it. The next day I stopped by, fully prepared to either be told it wasn't possible to clean it or that I had to spend $200-300 on a full detail. Gus had me pull the car in right away and immediately got to work. Within 20 minutes, it was like the accident had never happened! Better yet, I didn't have to get a full detail. He only cleaned the spots that needed it, and he did a fantastic job. No stains, no smell, nothing was left - I had a clean car and I didn't have to shell out a bunch of money. I've had my car detailed by a shop in North Reading and it was awful. They forgot to do the inside front and rear glass. I had another shop in Methuen do the same job and it was pretty good. Now that I've settled in Ashland and a pit for a car, I went looking for a new place to clean my Ion and found Middlesex Auto Detail. I made the appointment a week in advance for noon time but because this is all manual and intensive attention to detail, I didn't get taken until 130, otherwise this is a5 star effort. This is a family owned business, mom, dad and son. They all contribute and it resulted in my 10 year old Saturn shining in and out. It takes time so go run errands, go out to eat or spend 3 hours in the library. Supporting small business is important because it is the employment engine of America. Middlesex Auto Detail is one I will support again. read more

Before I took my convertible to Middlesex Auto, I checked the reviews on Yelp. Based on what I read, I was comfortable taking my car there. I have to say I was pretty disappointed with the work they did and I would not take my car there again. I have a Volvo convertible that I was getting ready to sell. I brought it to Middlesex for an estimate and was initially impressed with Gus. He was friendly, energetic, and seemed to know what he was doing. I mentioned that the paint on the rear trunk lid was in bad shape and needed to be redone. Gus told me they also did body work and he worked with a guy who could repaint the trunk lid for me. I asked if the guy was a professional, and whether he had the necessary tools. Gus assured me he was and that he had done great work for him previously. We agreed on a price and I dropped my car of a couple days later. Little did I know I was about to enter detailing hell. What was supposed to be a 2 - 3 day job stretched out to a week because the guy doing the paint work was short-handed. Gus eventually told me my car was done and I went down to pick it up. I was shocked at how bad the new paint looked: It clearly didn't match the rest of the car and it had an orange peel finish that was very visible in the reflection. I told Gus the paint job was unacceptable and his initial response was "black paint is hard to match." He eventually agreed to have his guy do it again. Five days later, Gus told me again that my car was ready. But, by the time I got there, he had inspected the paint job and realized it was still bad the second time. He decided to send it to another shop in Milford and it was gone before I arrived. I was pretty frustrated with the quality of the paint work and the nearly 2 weeks they had had my car. Gus admitted his guy didn't actually have a paint booth. That means he lied to me when he told me the guy had the proper tools. Whoever heard of a professional paint guy without a paint booth? Had I known upfront the guy didn't have a booth I never would have let him work on my car. A couple days later, Gus told me my car would be ready the next day. He also informed me that the second guy cost more than first guy and said he would need to increase the price we agreed to previously. I told him no: He'd had my car for two weeks and we had agreed on a price up front. It also wasn't my fault that the first guy was incompetent. Gus eventually backed off and I picked up my car the next day. After the frustrations of the prior two weeks, I was anxious to pick it up and get out of there. Consequently, I didn't spend much time inspecting my car and I should have. I noticed it looked dusty, but I assumed it had pollen on it from sitting outside. I was wrong: After washing it, and noting that the "pollen" wasn't coming off, I realized my car had paint overspray all over it. I also noticed the new black fabric top had wax on it, and that whoever used a buffer on the car left swirls in the paint. There were also several areas where the buffer came into contact with the fabric top leaving wax worked into the fabric. I tried to reach Gus several times by email and voicemail to discuss my concerns and he never got back to me. Since I got my car back, I have spent 3 - 4 hours working to undo the damage Gus and his team did to it: I have washed it twice, scrubbed the convertible top, and gone over the entire car with detailing clay. Although it looks better, it's still not back to where it was. I haven't decided what further steps I will take at this point. What I do know is that I'll never let Gus near another one of my cars and you shouldn't either. read more

Despite a busy schedule, he gave me an evening appointment and my car was clean and looking like new despite that it's a 2009 model. What a find!!! One of my criteria for purchasing a car, is that it is pretty. The problem is I use the car as a truck. I drive a 2014 Cad CTS, (light cream with light interior) and it was quite the mess after the spring planting season. This was my first visit, and it is my go to from now. The owner is very willing to work with your schedule. I picked up my car, and it looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor. I can't say enough about this place!!! I work at an auto dealership and had heard very good things about Gus. My car was in rough shape (it's 7 years old and has 100,000 miles on it. I've done well with up keep but this car had gotten really dirty from daily use and abuse). Gus worked really hard to squeeze me into his schedule, I got my car back in an incredibly fast turn around time and my car looks almost brand new. I honestly had forgotten what my car looked like this clean. An incredibly friendly, personable guy who obviously really understands the detailing business.
