The AAA did not offer to jump-start my car and towed my car to this shop. All they had to do was to jump-start my car and see if my car would start or not. That is the very 1st thing anyone with very little knowledge about a car will do. But instead they told me that my car engine is destroyed and I need a new engine. The gave me an estimated invoice for $11,200. Can you believe that? Yes, it is hard to believe but they wanted to charge me $11,200 for a new engine. All my car needed was a jump-start. There was nothing else wrong with my car. At that point I told them that "NO" I do not want to spend that on my car and I would like my car back to take it to another shop. The owner of this shop forced me to $176.00 for nothing. I mean they did not do a single thing other than wanting to scam me and steal my money by telling me I needs a new engine. I never got charged for things I didn't need. Never had a headlight that mysteriously stopped working the moment I stepped away for the inspection. They always did upfront, honest work and were great. Older guy who worked there was equally kind and helpful. They worked efficiently and did not overcharge. They charged $25 for an oil change last year. Including labor, my total bill last year was $108 for inspection and oil change. This year, the new worker/owner is saying it would be $135 for an inspection and oil change. I didn't bother asking if that includes labor (though I sure would hope so) because still that's about $20 more expensive than other places nearby. If any former employees see this, thank you so much for your years of honesty, kindness, and hard work. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who worked here so I could follow her to wherever she is now. I went in for an inspection several years ago and she uncovered some sort of issue with my insurance. She went out of her way to figure out what the issue was so I could resolve it, and then did the inspection for me the next day once I had it sorted. They even refused to manually redeem the unlimited membership for me despite showing them my active membership status. They also do not offer a barcode or code to enter into the terminal to redeem. They then said there was nothing else they could do to help me and when I reached out to their customer service I find out they don't even have an active email to contact for assistance. Thus, I wasted a $40 membership because THEIR system couldn't not recognize my car. I DO NOT recommend as they are not professional and do not care if you experience any issues. I attempted to reach out via the phone number listed multiple times but only reached a voicemail. I could not cancel the membership because it requires that you contact them, via the number provided, thus I was charged again for a membership I could not use. My only option was to contact my bank to get rid of the charge. In regard to the front license plate requirement, it seems rather restrictive and excluding given not every car has a front license plate especially if the car is registered outside the state of Massachusetts. I recommend that you (the owner) look into a back plate option.
