I hate to have to write this, but I feel it must be said and may help another family. I've been going to Middletown Animal Clinic for years with various pets over the course of 20 years. Even after I moved to Morgantown, I would still take my pets there. However, I strongly encourage you to find another vet if you ever feel something is not right with your animal. We took my 3.5 yo dog to them 8/28 because she had been up all night running around in a delirium and biting at her private area. She seemed to have difficulty going to the bathroom as well. They got in her and without running a lab or urinalysis said she had a bad UTI. She was given 21 days of antibiotics, antifungal (which I was told by the vet tech was a steroid), and previcox for pain. We immediately started her on the meds. It didn't seem to help so we called the next day knowing it may take 24 hours. The vet called in Tramadol for pain (which we found out is not even an effective pain meds for dogs). She had a follow up in 2 weeks 09/02. During this time she started exhibiting very anxious and aggressive behaviors. She seemed scared to go outside and was just off. We took her to her checkup. Due to Covid restrictions (which I get) you cannot actually see the vet. My husband took her. He said the tech ran her outside and said someone will call you. It was raining that day, god forbid they get wet to talk to you about your family member. He sat there for nearly 20 mins and the vet called. When she (Dr. Fraley) called she just rattles off information as quick as possible and doesn't even listen or address her behaviors. He asked that she call me to talk. She said she would at 230pm. I had to call her at 330pm. I asked her about the meds and my dogs behavior to be told to put a thunder coat on her and we can talk about anxiety meds. When I tried to tell her it was only recent I was dismissed, as she wanted to talk/push surgery for the UTI (first one she had in 3.5 years....not my main concern) We finished her meds. She slowly stopped wanting to eat and became very lethargic. 09/11 and 09/12 it eas evident she was sick and had been off meds for 5 days. We took her to Cheat Lake Hospital. She is now hospitalized with liver ALT enzymes at over 1400 when normal is under 125. They are running multiple tests to determine what is wrong. I am a complete and total mess. She has never been away from us for 1 day. My point is I knew her behavior wasn't right and the answer wasn't a damn thundercoat or more meds. Had they ran labs the first time we took her almost a month ago we may not be in this situation. Please send good vibes to my sweet Mazzy and don't be afraid to speak up for your pet. Brought my dog in for acl repair. Very friendly and very informative staff. The best part is our dog had 1 torn ACL and the other one was tearing. We werent sure if both legs needed surgery. The vet said they didnt know if they were going to do both or not till actual surgery day. Well we trusted them and our dog went under. They called us right after they were done telling us everything went well and that they only had to do one leg. I am glad they were honest and didnt use my pets life to make more money from us. read more

Will NEVER recommend them! My bulldog was in active labor and needed a c section. My husband took her in and they sent her home. We ended up at the emergency vet who said she must have a c section. Their techs are rude and ignorant. I was a customer here for 25+ years but when the original vet (who was a fantastic vet) sold the practice, it all went downhill. We just got a call a few minutes ago asking how our Waiki was doing. We had an appointment on Friday, poor fellow was falling down. He was a stray and had fleas, and was scratching at his ear, so I immediately figured it was an inner ear infection of some sort to throw of his equilibrium, etc, anywho, he is now doing so much better after getting his flea treatment of revolution, and his antibiotic for the blockage in his ear. We have never had a veterinary clinic call back to check on our precious loves before. I almost cried when I heard that's what the call was about from my mother. The place is amazing, great people, that enjoy being there. They have two waiting areas, one for cats, and one for dogs, which is brilliant! And they are cheaper than our not so accommodating previous clinic. I can't say enough good things about this place. All I can say, and all that really matters the most is that THEY TRULY CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL FAMILY. read more

Very impressed with the way they run their business and their professionalism. The staff takes the time to talk to you and to answer your questions and the vets are very knowledgeable about cats and dogs (can't speak to other animals, as these are the only pets I have). They performed a delicate eye surgery on my house-mate's dog and he is doing wonderfully when he could have lost his sight. They have been great with my dog and my cat when both have been in. I highly recommend them. Only unnerving aspect is that they have you sit in the examination room while they take your pet in the back. The wait, especially with longer procedures, can be stressing for both you and your pet. read more

Are you kidding me..I can just imagine what it must be like if no one else is around? They showed up a little after noon. They would not let me hold her. They put no IV in. Dr Fraley injected the needle straight into her paw and Hannah started screaming. And jerking to get away from the vet tech. Dr Fraley pulled the needle out. She was turning her poor little head looking at me, yelping. I said, "is it stinging?" Dr Fraley said "no, she didn't get enough." The vet tech said you want me to try. In the mean time Hannah has gotten away from the vet tech and I'm holding her whilst she is still yelping and crying. Dr Fraley says no, I will try her neck. The vet tech takes her back and Dr Fraley injects the rest into her neck. So much for a peaceful home euthanasia w/o the trauma of going to the vets office. Whenever I think of my sweet little Hannah I will forever have to remember her screaming and yelping and looking at me with those sad eyes that did not peacefully close, as so many had told me was the case when they put their animal down, while a 'qualified' veterinarian and her assistant performed a euthanasia that I would be ashamed to send me a bill for.... read more

I took my 9 yr old Yorkie in for a follow up for a urinary tract infection. Saw a new vet (Dr. Lightling) who diagnosed her with a stage 4 out of 6 heart murmer which had never been detected by Dr. Fraley. The vet gave us the name and address of the hospital in PA and walked out. I contract Dr. Fraley the following day and every day for 4 days for a callback to discuss treatment options and a referral to the PA hospital. After 4 days and no callback, I contacted the office for her records to take her to another vet. Dr. Fraley finally contacted me and asked to see her. We took her in on Monday evening (July 31st) they did an EKG and confirmed the heart murmer. We took her home waiting on the referral. Cali was unable to breath and we were up all night trying to comfort her and keep her calm. We contacted the Middletown emergency number, Dr. Fraley called in a diuretic since it was possible her lungs had fluid. I took her into the vet office first thing the following morning, they put her in an oxygen cage and started heart medication. We were then notified later in the day she would need transported to the emergency clinic to be under observation and oxygen throughout the night since the first 48 hours are the most critical and she needed to be stabilized to make the trip to PA for a heart valve replacement. Needless to say on the 2 mile trip to the emergency clinic she passed away in my arms. If Dr. Fraley had contacted me within the 4 days and only when I was going to take her to another vet did she call, Cali would be with us now even if for a short period of time. read more

Great clinic. The Doctors are friendly. One of our Cats had cancer, after a long battle we put him to rest. They had us bring him in first thing in the morning; they treat us and him with dignity and kindness. All our cats are now frequent visitors for routine appointments. read more
