One thing I've come to understand about self storage is that most of the systems they use for billing purposes is automated so that they never miss a beat due to human error. It's a double edge sword. I came in close to closing stating I needed to see if I could pay for only 6 days of April as my move in date got pushed out due to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, they don't do prorated rent but the lady there at least tried to help in some way. She checked the system and asked if I could fit my smaller unit into my bigger one (I had two units that were 355.00 altogether! ) And that if I could empty the smaller one before Saturday morning and she'll move me out so that I'd only have to pay for one at least saving something. She even went as far as reserving the U-Haul for me the next day so that I'd have first dibs when I got off work! It's frustrating they couldn't prorate but it is what it is. I've been using this storage site for years now. Its location is key: close enough to the Loop to make use easy wherever you live in Athens, but not squeezed into a busy, more congested area where you're doing automobile acrobatics trying to get to it, The front office staff onsite is helpful and friendly; one of them (Neal) has been there for years, under the previous owners and the current ones, so the consistency and continuity is a nice bonus. They've always been accommodating when I've needed to upgrade or downgrade the size or quality of my unit. read more

Upon entering the facility I was greeted by a virtual attendant. It is a real person! Marcy was very kind and helpful in the rental process. She made sure I had everything I needed in place to rent a unit. Navigating the property is a bit tricky as it is a big site. They have an onsite Property Manager Shannon who is an absolute gem. She is the kindest person even after I talked her ear off about my personal problems. Shannon helped me find my unit and made sure I didn't need anything else. I was unaware the site was virtual and someone comes on the screen when you go into the office. They came on right away and were able to help me. The virtual aspect is great because someone is always there to assist. After going onto the property, I got lost. It is a big site and I didn't know where to go to look at the unit. Thankfully the Property Manager Shannon was on site and helped me find what I was looking for. She went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of.
