I go here for for one thing. Guavas. They are perfect little buggers that make me happy and make my whole apt smell delicious. When I was growing up, my father and I would come here just about every weekend. It was the best and I do still have lots of memories from that time. Even if I disregard those memories and compare this flea market only to other swap meets I've been to in the area and where I live, this one is a huge disappointment. First I accidentally showed up on a Saturday. Though open, I only saw two vendors. I didn't get out of my car. Next I came on a Sunday, which has always been the better day. There were many vendors, but I'd say a good 70-80% of them were just selling new products. Cheap clothes, household goods, candy, electronics, etc. imported from Mexico and sold cheaply. I guess if you need something like this you may not feel like you have lots of places you can go, but I come to flea markets and swap meets for the "garage sale" aspect and that was extremely minimal here. Very depressing. I did buy a couple of items, but having also visited another swap meet earlier that same day, I can't see myself returning to this one. This is an interesting mostly Hispanic dominated market. There are legitamit businesses selling here from a local Bloomfield/Sebastopol honey company to a local Rohnert Park based cell phone company that sells accessories that are market brand on site. Note though you will find mostly iPhone not android stuff like bling cases. I love that you can get stylish jeans and new Levis and new shoes but you can also get used just about anything. Tools, toys, fresh latin based produce and random whatever someone got at an estate sale or just needs to unload from DVDs to wrapped boxes of tea. Some weeks there are excellent power tools. Sometimes there are great selections on old school video games. Or even old comic books. There really is something for everyone including snacks like nuts, gum, soda, and candy. It's not the most upscale but it's large and plenty of room to walk and browse. Just be mindful if you wear sandals or flip flops it's dusty so I always wash my feet right after visiting. Otherwise spare yourself and wear tennis shoes or boots. Also wear sunscreen or sleeves and a hat. It's deceptive here. Even overcast it's easy to tan or burn. There are NO trees where the stalls are. But the main "corridor" is covered. Definitely shop all the stalls before settling on any one place or thing. And keep in mind some things you can get cheaper online. Just like everywhere be mindful of pricing. Some vendors will even barter. read more

This is very comfortable flea market, lots of free parking, no admission fees to shop. The place is not loaded up with a lot of commercial retailers. There are some commercial retailers, there are a few that sell produce, nice selection of Latin produce. I'd say 70% of the sellers are non-commercial, and that typically is where I find the best deals. That's the good news. The bad news is the parking is unpaved and can be muddy after bad weather, and don't even think about going if it is raining, nobody's home. They have one building that sells food. Some flea markets have more options for food, but it is very limited here, come to think of it some sell beer ... not here. I have never bought any food there, so I cannot comment on it. It's also closed for 3 weeks around Christmas-New Years. It's not as big as Napa, but it has much, much more non-commercial sellers. read more

Eh wasn't too impressed with this flea market, I'd drive out of town before returning here. It has the usual flea market finds but if you're looking more so for the garage sale sort of stuff, junk and treasures this isn't the best place to go, granted there were a few stands here, just no jackpot. The parking lot seemed to be quite busy but when waking around it didn't feel crazy crowed because it is quite spread out, with people set up quite randomly, and scattered. Didn't seem like there was much organization in layout which made walking around a little hectic. read more

Once in a blue moon I actually "need" something, like a frying pan or replacement cable for a battery charger, or maybe even a battery charger, or some socks, or a set of socket wrenches, or a trowel. I can tell you this: I almost always will go first to the Sebastopol flea market. And 99% of the time I find exactly what I need, thereby giving the item new utility and saving the manufacturing sector the trouble of having to exploit a bunch of resources to make some crap plastic "better" version of the damned thing on my behalf. And about those vendors who are selling stuff that another reviewer said you could buy at Walmart, okay, that's fine if the mere thought of entering Walmart doesn't make your skin crawl. But why subject yourself to the 99 thousand piece-of-crap items that fill walmart just to find something that our friends at the flea market provide so conveniently, under redwood trees and blue skies in fresh country air? Ask yourself: How much crap do you really need? The great thing about the flea market is that many of the non-commercial stalls are a brilliant reminder of precisely how much crap we actually don't need, but buy anyway because we went to walmart. So one of the many things I like about the flea market is I can see a lot of the crap merchandise that came and went but which I didn't buy, while also finding the few actually useful and valuable things that I would like to bring into my home. Is that great or what? And if you start getting the feeling that all those flea market stalls look a lot like your own garage or house or, god forbid, your "storage container," well, there's plenty of food for thought in that too. I got my cast iron frying pan for $5, my battery charger cable for $1 (try that in a retail store), enough new socks for a couple of years for $12. You get the idea. OK, I might go to Sears today for the socket wrench set, because that's about the one thing that's any good that Sears still makes, and because the Sebastopol flea market is today in its winter holiday, reopening next weekend. Did I mention that you can learn a lot of Spanish and Chinese there? And when was the last time you had a good laugh at Walmart? Walk through the flea market and you'll find yourself pretty much chuckling the whole time, when you are not laughing out loud about some astonishing human creation that is on display there. And when was the last time you had a good conversation at Walmart? The flea market is a great place for shooting the breeze in multiple languages, and meeting interesting folks from all over. read more

I like to go here only on Sundays (my "church") and only early, leaving before 9:30 or 10 at the latest. It gets too crowded after 10. I prefer to shop with the people who are cleaning out the garage rather than the higher priced "venders" who make this their weekend jobs. They seem to hike up the prices more than they need to. Mmmm. I'm not sure how I feel about this place 100 percent yet. I came here on a Saturday which is a huge No-No nobody was there! So next week I went but on a Sunday and this place was poppin' I would say 90 percent of this place is like little Mexico. Lots of new stuff being sold, electronics, Mexican candy and food also. I made sure to grab a sweet churro to share with my sweetie. Hehe. As far as the vintage is concerned....it's a bit lackluster. Sadly, Midgley's Flea Market is far from a true swap meet, as there are far more commercial sellers, hawking underwear, blankets, plastic toy guns and other new items that can be found at WalMart. We came out here yesterday - it was kinda small (but I'm guessing it's because we popped out on Easter Sunday) Tons of produce, nice and fresh, and also lots of mexican candy and baked goods (yum) Lots and lots of soccer stuff! I found a table of brand new soccer cleats with incredible prices. I didn't find anything in my size, but I'll be back. Great fun way to spend a sunday with your sweetie, walking around getting a snack and a drink and looking at all the stuff. read more

Reliable and regular, even in the off months (except their prolonged 'vacation' over the holidays). A decent flea, about the best you can hope for north of the bay. A few 'reseller dealers' always spoil the 'spoils' so to speak, snapping up cool or valuable items early and putting them out for more-than-ebay prices, but there's still deals to be had. Surprisingly good food at some of the kiosks/coaches, too. A fun morning excursion, just don't expect a huge market like you find in the east or south bay. Lately their attendance has been really low... I assume it's the time of year. This place can be a bit like the Wild West, with non-handicapped cars to parked in ADA designated areas, fights, assorted humanity issues... Just be careful out there! read more

I have been selling here for years. Here are my suggestions... clothes and shoes sell very well, especially if they are low priced. Leave your better household items and collectibles at home. Most of the buyers are locals who work in the farms. Also, beware for people who will steal from you while you are unloading and setting up. There are groups of regular resellers who swarm anyone that is not a regular. I have had lots of stuff stolen at this point and the "regulars" told me after it was too late. If possible, bring a friend to watch and help when you unload. It is stressful and this is my least favorite part. Also, bring an old sheet or table cloth to cover the plywood table. Bring some water and coffee and always go in a Sunday -especially close to pay days. I like to buy a few things, which have usually been plants and some household or Christmas items. It is hit and miss. Don't make a trip up here looking for antinques - maybe years ago, but not so much today. Read the other reviews about what the place looks like, so you are not shocked. Altogether, still a good place to sell garage sale items without the garage. read more

If I need to clean out the garage overflow this is where I go . Sell what I can for $LOW cash$ and maybe $5 tops then after my stuff is all picked thru , I just get in my truck and head on home .The scraps I left behind on my table are instantly cleaned out by rif raf ! it's a great place to make a few bucks or break even on your garbage before tossing it . read more

Went as a seller on a Saturday. Sunday is the better day to sell, so they say. I would never sell here again because 90% of the buyers only want stuff they can resell. They expect your stuff to be cheap, like around $1, with nothing more than $10. Poor people attend this event. Most know nothing about quality. If you have good stuff to sell take my advice and go elsewhere. Maybe you could have your own yard sale and actually make some money. read more

Never been on Saturday but heard it's usually a no-go. Sunday is best. Although the hardcore crowd is there at 7 am, most vendors aren't set up fully until 9-9:30. Lots of kids stuff and toys if you are willing to dig through it. Interesting porcelain and bric-a-brac collectibles if you're into that stuff. Vendors are eclectic from the Sebastopol crowd practically giving away their used LPs to family produce vendors to the sellers aware of how much their stuff might go for online. LOTS of guys selling hardware, tools, generators. DO WATCH OUT there are loose sharp objects and knives at these markets so be careful rummaging through tables and definitely hold on to your kids. They seem to have about everything for sale except Books/ DVDs/Blu-rays - there's some but not of good quality/quantity. Some of the crowd is laidback and will cut you an easy deal under $5 while the others you will need to haggle with. Bring your game face if you need to. CASH ONLY SMALL BILLS there is no ATM as far as I know and the closest one is an inconvenient drive away. Good flea market with a family-run atmosphere but it's a dirt lot with port-o'-heads so it's not really friendly for the senior crowd or little kids. Food trucks/vendors on site. read more
