Cool thrift shop with a big collection of books. A few home goods and clothes, but not much. If you dig you can find some craft supplies - I found some stamps and ink pads which I have been looking for! The books are well-priced.

There are thrift shops and there are thrift shops and this one's a good one. It's more curiosity than thrift and though the foot print's not "huge" there's lots of interesting bits and baubles filling the space and there's cats!!!! An X girl friend will appreciate that. Anyway, thanks to you, was able to get my laptop up and running after my power cable crapped out and you had the lead I needed. ...would have cost me bookoo bucks at Microsoft but fiddling and finagling a bunch of use pin ball parts was able to get up and running for $1.00. Also picked up several really good smalls.

resident store dog catching some zzzz's, so adorable!

I like that this place benefits the Humane Society! They even had a resident dog there, who was napping on the couch, so cute. There isn't that much selection for clothes. I wanted to find a cool old T-shirt, but no luck. There was actually a lot of cool art though. There was even a really nice beach landscape piece by a local artist, but for $70 was too steep for me. Plus, I didn't know how I would bring it back in my luggage. My friend picked up some cool frames and even a signed Matisse print?! We don't know if it's authentic, but if it is, she got a KILLER deal.

Nice thrift store, akin to finding items from grandma's attic and perhaps marveling at 70s and 80s era electronics ( a blast from the past). Proceeds go towards Mendocino county's Human society. In the shop you will also see perhaps a cat, waiting for the right owner to adopt it. A large bucket of used jeans ($1 each). Probably has been through the woods many times. Part of the entertainment value is glancing at the old records/LPs and their covers. Such interesting hairstyles and designs. About two rows to the right of a stash of Christmas music LPs was this one (see uploaded pic). *Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrarrrrrr*. Now I feel like driving north again 5 mins to Cowlick's Ice Cream and get myself a mushroom ice cream. Maybe even with whip.

Sooo angry. We all get frustrated at the tourists for taking the glass of our beloved Glass Beach, but what about the locals? I recently saw a giant jar of sea glass on sale at The Ark for $15. Really?! That's kind of despicable. Its illegal to take the glass off the beach, and here they are selling it!

We bought a 40$ tent and once we got it home it had a huge hole in it. I feel they should have checked it out before they priced it at 40$.

A busy location and a fair amount of women's clothes. Lots of books but very little larger items.

Very organized thrift store. The books are so organized I felt I was in a book store or library.

However, as soon as you walk inside, you're hit with a heavy odor of tobacco meets broccoli meets mildew? There's a heaviness to the air that gives you the sense of haunted house. Truly, did not like my time there. But if you're into oddities and are trying to do every single thing in town that you can, it's probably worth 5-10min of time to run in. Very strange.

White Elephant Thrift Exchange…read more Ok, so this really isn't a museum but a (not-so) cleverly disguised Thrift store that's pretending to be one. While this may seem like a grift, it really isn't. Just an eccentric old man trying to do some good in this world. The Good: *25% of sales go to African Wildlife Foundation *Prices are actually really reasonable. We found a really cool Kenyan handmade basket for $15! *The old-timer running the place is really nice. Make sure you count your change if you pay cash, as he tried to give me an extra $10. *If you're into African décor or animal print clothes this place is def for you! *Free Admission! ;) *Right off the Hwy heading into Ft Bragg The Meh: *A lot of the stuff really is just Thrift shop level stuff but at least they stick with the theme! The Ugly: *Some of the clothes are, well, an interesting fashion choice... 0_o TLDR: Interesting place that's worth a 10min visit if you're in the area and like weird shit. :)
