Do NOT use this company! They say they use their own trucks for better control. Not true. Subcontractors were used and they even rented trucks. They will not let you talk to a manager. They "have to put a ticket" in and say they'll call back. Never happens. They made me request to speak to a manager in writing via email. Got the canned response, but never got to talk to a manager for over a month! We specifically called to move a safe and a few family heirlooms. We paid extra for the safe. Their "moving professionals" told me it was impossible to move the safe when they got there. I had to tell them how to do it! Our family heirlooms were one-of-kind items that they broke, unwrapped and threw the broken pieces inside, and wrapped them back up! They apparently tried to pry open the sides of a brand new trunk. The first person to whom you will speak is Steve, the sales person. He makes things sounds wonderful and takes down all the items you have to move. He then gives you a very reasonable quote. He then sends you an estimate to sign. THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET WONKY. BE SURE TO LOOK AT THAT ESTIMATE CAREFULLY BECAUSE WAY DOWN IN TINY WRITING THEY HAVE A LIST OF THE INVENTORY, ONLY STEVE DIDN'T GET ANYTHING RIGHT. HE EVEN PUT DOWN ONLY BOXES FOR MY SISTER WHO LIVES IN A TWO-BEDROOM PLACE AND WHO METICULOUSLY WENT OVER ALL THE FURNITURE INCLUDING HER ARTWORK. The estimate is only based on what he actually put into the inventory list no one tells you about...... Thus, when they call later a few days prior to the scheduled move, that's when things change. For me, they didn't tell me about the changes till they showed up to move my stuff on the last day of the month. They then told me it would be an EXTRA $3500. On the other side of the move, about ten days later, they showed up with our stuff, some of it broken, and only one woman and her very overweight husband who could barely walk. When planning a move, some things might seem obvious. You want to get a price for getting your belongings packed, placed on a truck, and delivered safely to your new home. You might also consider guarantees regarding the possibility of a loss due to damage or misplaced items. The quality of all of the work being offered also matters. Well, Midland Van Lines fell far short in every category and many others. Beware! This company is NOT a moving company with trucks and workers that are hired and supervised by a corporate structure. The fact is that the moving company business consists of movers and those who contract with movers. Midland will work very hard to convince you, if you inquire, that they are a full-service moving company. Do NOT believe them. They are a contractor. We saw two different trucks and two different crews. The competence of each crew was also quite different. Read their contract carefully if you are foolish enough to hire them. Two items stand out. They cover loss by paying by the pound but charge for the move by the cubic foot. They pay 60 cents a pound for damaged items. They do not cover any furniture made with fiberboard, such as almost all furniture sold by IKEA. Midland Van Lines failed to give me a set price. They gave me an estimate, called one week before the move, and altered it based on exact descriptions of items. They then upcharge for that change. We refused to accept the higher estimate. On the day of the move, the contract states that you shouldn't allow the movers to place any items on the truck until they give you a guaranteed final price. They refused. Now what could we do? We were stuck. So, delay our move? Not possible in almost any scenario, right? So, we let them load the truck. When finished, they said, we will either lower or raise the price based on the final cubic feet calculations. Did we get to measure? No, we had to trust them. The contract meant nothing. The increased cost was $1282.80. Now, about our move. They lost items and couldn't find them. They delivered items that weren't ours and didn't attempt to recover them for their owners. They refused to cover the loss because of that fiberboard clause. They offered a $50 courtesy payment for my loss of over $450 of items that didn't arrive. Two different moving crews and trucks were involved in my move. I paid three different entities, and only one was Midland Van Lines. The others were all contractors. You will find many reviews of this company, and they will all include some version of our story. Hire a company that gives you a set price, reasonable guarantees for loss, and has equipment and crew hired by them. This usually means someone local. Beware, some companies are NOT local and have similar or the same name as local companies. We believe our move was unsatisfactory due to the upcharge and undelivered items. read more

We had an awful experience with our cross-country move with this company. They basically subcontract the move to over the road truck drivers and pay them by the mile. The truck drivers then call whatever buddies are available locally to help them load/unload. At no time are you working with professional movers. When you do actually get in touch with a Midland employee, they tell you whatever you want to hear, but none of the information is accurate. I called Midland every day for 10 days after our things were supposed to be delivered. I never once received a call back or an update on where our things were or when they would arrive. When the semi did finally arrive two weeks after the date we were told it would arrive, our belongings looked like they had been DRAGGED cross country. All of our furniture (including heirloom items) was very banged up. When we looked inside the truck, fragile items were loaded on the bottom and crushed by heavy items packed to the ceiling. It did not matter if boxes were marked fragile. Midland was also supposed to transport our car. The trailer did not show up by the time we needed to start driving cross country to our new home. We followed up incessantly to find out when the car would be picked up. After two weeks, the transport company that Midland sourced the job to said they still didn't have any drivers unless we wanted to pay significantly more. We ended up having to hire a different transport company directly and we had to forgo the deposit and incur additional expense to rent a car for weeks because Midland outsourced this transport to a shady transport company that did not have committed drivers. I've been calling three times per week they say someone will return my call and they are just keeping my money!!! If I could give negative stars I would. Close to a year and a half ago I was looking around, doing some price comparison on moving options. I put my number in to get a quote to see what price might look like. Big mistake. Soon after my moving plans got canceled as I explained over and over again to the representatives that kept calling. Months passed and just ignoring the calls because irksome because they happened so much. I BEGGED representatives to take me off the list and somehow blocked 3 different numbers calling me about midland vans. The calls continued and I reached out over email, telling them to take me off all call lists as I am not moving and do not plan to move. No response. Now they call me 3x a week and hang up before I can answer and tell them off- it is incredibly irritating. Today they called and immediately hung up twice in 3 minutes. I did not find the Midland "MO" to be any different than the discount brokers that I avoided. The day they loaded the truck I needed to pay $350 for tape to secure protective blankets. Regardless of the fact I was told by "sales" that I would only pay for volume shipped there were no provisions or means to collect for the smaller shipment. My original driver agreed to a volume of 85 cuft ($550) less than the estimate but despite my repeated efforts there was no credit. I had reviewed my address and location on google earth with "sales" and was told that delivery should be no problem. 2 days before delivery I was told it would cost an additional $500 for a shuttle because they could not access with their 80' tractor and trailer. This was the worst move I have experienced. Two Men and a Truck have done better. The first quote was for $6,000, then it went up to $9,000 after they took some pictures, then the day of the move it jumped to $13,000. One man showed up at 2:30 in the afternoon. He was waiting for two more men, but they had a flat tire on their truck, so he called two of his friends to help him. So I was moved by one professional and two of his friends. They almost left my mirror for my dresser and the leaf for my diningroom table behind. I had to catch them before they left. My furniture needed to go into storage until I bought a home in Virginia, but I just got a call that they have my furniture here in Virginia and they needed to deliver it but I need to give them$3600 now. My husband and I contracted with Midland Van Lines for a full service interstate move in July, 2025. Midland initially quoted a price under $10,000, then increased the price a few days before the actual move. They increased the price again during the move itself. We paid them the $14,740 they demanded, but they still only took half of our furniture and belongings. They showed up with a truck too small for our household goods, insufficient packing materials, and no tools to dissassemble furniture and appliances. We had to rent a 26 foot DIY moving truck on the spot, and take additional furniture and belongings ourselves. A lot of furniture was left behind because we didn't have the tools to dissassemble it. Mangement was horrible. We hired them to move a piano in our house. We informed them that we had steps, yet managment did not provide the movers with any equipment. The driver only had a dolley. Three other individuals showed up and they tried to lift the grand piano up the stairs manually which of course they weren't able to do and damanged our piano. This company promises to deliver with great service to get you started, but once quoted and they collect the deposit all good customer service ends. They farm your business to other movers (even though they promise to handle your account from start to finish), and when there is a problem, they just don't answer the phone. They are also not transparent about pricing. Each person along the way demanded more money. They delayed pick up and when I requested an earlier pick up for the next day, I was told that I had to be ready during my time for all 3 days. I reminded them that I was and it was them who did not deliver. Next day we waited for 7 hours for the truck to arrive (after a 3 man crew was sent to pack up all my stuff that was already in boxes). This company is a criminal enterprise. Please do not use them. Everything that is described in the negative reviews is happening to me now. I wish I had done my research because if I had, I would never have hired this company. I am so scared I will never see my belongings again or if I do, they will be unusable or irrepairable. Please do not use this company. They are absolutely liars and scammers: 1. They initially underquoted my long distance move from Wichita, KS to Charlotte, NC. 2. When they called to confirm the pick up date(s) and the inventory of my household goods I willingly agreed to pay $6200 up from $5000 to ensure adequate cubic feet on the truck and quality, professional packing services. At this point, they know you are in between a rock and a hard place because of the time limitations to coordinate a long distance move: this recognition is used as leverage to gouge you for more money. In addition, you have already made a large deposit which is no longer refundable. 3. They only accept cash which prevents the consumer from disputing the transaction as fraud which they fully intend to commit. Only disreputable moving companies demand large deposits and payment in cash. 4. On the day of my pick up only one man arrived in a dirty Penske truck. Midland Van Lines is not a carrier with their own trucks as they claim. The U.S. Department of Transportation lists the size of their fleet at 6 trucks. Customer service continued to insist that they are a carrier despite this documented fact. In addition, they are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau as advertised. 5. The man who arrived insisted my move would cost $8000 up from $6200 because I was quoted inadequate cubic feet in addition to a full-service pack and ship. He and his supervisors proceeded to gaslight me using my ignorance about cubic feet to convince me that I had not paid for enough. (Afterwards, I learned that $8.00 a cubic foot is considered standard for long distance moves. Using this formula I should have paid $4488 for 561 cubic feet. I had already agreed to $6200 at this point which included full service pack and ship.) They then offered to start loading the truck so I could see how woefully inadequate 561 cubic feet is. I rejected this offer and threatened to cancel the entire job. After 1 1/2 hours of negotiation we agreed to proceed at $6500 up from $6200. However, I had to pay $2685 in cash. 7. I became suspicious when no one else arrived to help and I saw how my furniture and belongings were being packed. My couch was not wrapped properly. He put it standing up vertically on the truck which is guaranteed to damage it. My brand new mattress and adjustable base which I am still paying for were not protected with the proper materials. My glass coffee table was not properly wrapped or protected. My clothes were shoved into boxes instead of hung in wardrobe boxes. I have no doubt that other fragile items were improperly packed and will be damaged. Still, I felt bad for this man and bought him dinner and tipped him in cash. That was before I did my research belatedly and found out that what I had been dealing with was exactly what others had experienced. 8. As of today I have no idea where my belongings are or when they will be delivered. I have been promised call backs from either Kathy or Rachel who are supposed to be managers. Neither has contacted me. In addition to the broken verbal promises regarding price and the assurances of quality packing services and professional care of my belongings, Anthony promised I would receive my shipment in 5-7 days. The time frame was specifically why I cancelled service with another mover who I became suspicious of. Ironically, both companies accused each other of being scammers. At least the other company played a recording on the phone informing you that they are brokers - which is what Midland Van Lines is even though they claim to be carriers - and that they can not guarantee price or anything else regarding your service. I did see on the Midland Van Lines contract that I may not receive my goods for 14 days. I called Anthony on this yet he swore I would receive my goods in 5-7 days. 9. I am taking a big risk in providing a review prior to delivery. I believe I need to provide some insight to this company so others can know. We pray our beinginglys arrive safely/not damaged we take full ownership that we did not throughly review the contract prior to signing and that was our first mistake. Mark the salesmen was very convincing that we could trust him and not to worry with a sprinkle of "we have all in-house trucks and employees. We don't third party anything see our license number? other companys third party out everthing." Isn't the use of UHaul trucks a third party? Mark (the salesmen) explained that "we don't send out anyone from the team to review in person prior to creating the inventory list and proposal for your review. We will set up a time for facetime and walk your home together." Meeting was set up, facetime meeting walking the entire house and garage and outside furniture. Proposal came, a few corrections make (ie: our small 5 gallon air compressure was not a power washer as listed on the inventory list sent by Mark (salesmen) with proposal back to us. Next step. Gary P (Dir of Quality) missed two phone appointments and did not respond back to text nor calls and the one text was to reschedule at 7pm which we were not available, but again radio silent. Finally I got a hold of Mark, Mark stated that Brian the boss over Mark and Gary would be taking over our account - Gary got back in the mix and stated that he Gary was the boss over Mark and Brian. What a mess...... with everything else going on. And as you know selling a home packing moving is very stressful. Finally the day of packing and loading - again a big mess which we learned exactly what the contract stated and didn't state: 1. Double the Quote: Owner provided Inventory List by holding the phone during the Facetime walk of Home for Mark the salesmen: States that this proposal is guaranteed unless the owner addeds items. When I asked Gary why the quote from the packers were double the price when the contract states guaranteed since we did not add but rather removed items strongly suggested "that our lamps looked old and wouldn't we like to buy new ones?" Gary stated that since we do not provide a person to come to the home, the facetime walk was the owner providing an inventory list not Mark the salesmen since we held the phone during the facetime walk. Hense why the price is double the quote." 2. Owner to provide all packing and packing material expect for furniture blankets: Not stated in proposal - we ran out to get from UHaul box springs and mattress plastic covers. We had everything packed in boxes but mirrors and large pictures which Mark at time of facetime walk through stated "not to to pack any mirrors nor large pictures and this would be included in proposal" Day of packing, we were charged whatever price stated since we did as Mark the salesmen told us not to pack these items. Gary stated that the packers price holds and Mark never said that to us; their Receptionist yelled at myself and spouse "ITS NOT IN THE CONTRACT AND YOU CAN NOT TALK TO MARK!" When I asked Gary to listen to the recorded calls, he refused. All calls are recorded and they use this when it suits them to hold the client accountable but not for them. Packers did not fill up two Uhaul Trucks (one was already half full from another move) and Packers did not have mattress boxes for any of our three Tempurpedic mattresses. one was bent leaning over boxes I sent pictures to Gary and the king size cooling mattress was bent in half when I walked in with three men sitting on the folded part with the fourth packer strapping the mattress in half. I called Gary and hiis response was "how else are we to get this to fit into the UHaul truck?" Not that way and this isn't per manufacture's specification. Gary repeatedly would say they do everything per mfg spec. 3. Delivery is going to be a mess: I discovered there are step, staircase platform, turn fees, and special van/shuttle fees if their semi isn't able to delivery to our new home: Step Fees: $75.00 for every 15 steps max Platform Fees: $75.00 for every platform on stairway steps Turn Fees: $75.00 for every turn made Special Van/Shuttle Fees: I don't know this fee though I have requested this information via email. Not confirmed: fee from truck unloading and steps to home Conclusion: READ UNDERSTAND PROPOSAL 1. Gary P does not like emails only text - I email after every conversations and with new information, If I do not have the opportunity to have a verbal conversation, I will email, then text and leave a voice message for Gary P to check his email. I include in the email, Mark (the salesmen - against Gary P's instructions to me) and outside person and my spouse. 2. We decided with these issues/fees to have Midland Vanlines delivery to Public Storage in TX. Unit that is climate control, first floor. roughly 50 steps from covered unloading to unit and 2 turns. read more

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT. DO NOT PAY THE 50% UP FRONT. THE COMPANY IS GOING UNDER AND THEY'LL TAKE YOU WITH THEM. Scheduled a pickup a month in advance for July 26-28th. I was encouraged by this company's guaranteed pickup window. That is, in the contract, they state that the pickup is guaranteed and if they fail then they will refund your deposit. They failed to pickup my items entirely. Worse, they kept reassuring me each day they missed that they would show up the following day. The contract sneakily hides an additional day (just in case), so your guaranteed 3 day pickup window is actually 4 days. Because they did not indicate to me that they would not come, I was forced to overstay my lease for a day, rent a storage unit, and vacate by myself. I incurred thousands of dollars in additional costs to rectify their service failure and to top it off they have yet to disperse my refund. I do not think they will unless I get an attorney involved. Finally, Midland Van Lines is not the business's name. The business's name is Spartan Transportation Inc. The relevant registration numbers are DOT# 2630462 and MC# 19674. They have a history of having their insurance revoked and as of the posting of this review their insurance is currently being cancelled. The business owner, Shay Levi according to public records, has a history of starting moving companies that go under only to start another one. Their history of name changes and soon to come name change is merely to dodge their increasingly negative reputation. I only gave them 1 star because I had to post a review ..Avoid this company at all costs! They will give you a blind quote over the phone purposely leave me things out so they can charge you more when they come pick up your stuff. For example, I told them I had two beds one queen and one king. When they got there to move my property, they called me stating that I didn't tell them that I had a headboard and a boxsprings. I only told them about the mattress. How would I know as the customer that I need to break down every piece of a bed and the representative did not ask me. So that's one of the ways that they get more money out of you when they go pick up your items. They stating that those items were not on the list. However I did put 12 boxes on the quote but ,told me they can only take a couple boxes because I was over my cubic feet limit. How would I be over my cubic feet if that's what you quoted me for. So they pick and choose when they want to go off the quote. Also, when the mover arrived there to pick up my items, they said that I underbid and they tried to charge me an additional $3500.00 to move my items . I refused. These people are crooks. Wow . My friend was moving from South Carolina to Colorado and was Quoted 11,150 before they would load the truck they demanded additional money . When the truck came - 15 days later they demanded before unloading 6500 her total bill was 30,000 - criminal. The driver (Mason) was extremely rude and had hired 5 guys off Craig's list . 1 pulled a knife on the driver due to an altercation. They subcontracted our move to a FL mover who then subcontracted to Sunshine Relocation. We had damaged furniture, broken crystal glasses, destroyed $2500 piec of glass art, missing items including a brand new ladder. Price started at $12,000 ended up at $32,000 cash or they won't unload. Worst move of our life. Submitted claim with photos and insurance offered $200 with full waiver. Stay away from this company. They pulled what I would describe a classic bait and switch. Having moved 18 times cross country, I began planning our move 9 months early (March 2025) The estimator provided a low ball of how much room (cubic feet) our belongings would take up in a truck. The estimate was under $8k. They set the bait (hook). There is no way we would know how much room (cubic feet) we would take up. They should know after having completed a walk through our house via facetime call. We did all of the packing...all but a handful of items, so everything we owned was laid out in front of the company to see upon arrival. Then the day of the move, nine months after the bait was set, a crew of 4 shows up in two U-Haul trucks....Not the Midland Van Line truck, U-Hauls...at 9 am, The driver then does a complete walk through of our home to view all of our household contents, and I mean actually walking through our house to view all of the items to move (all boxes, etc) we were provided a quote of $13k and this is after a discount we had been provided earlier because we were moving on December 29, 2025. After loading all of our items and after it was real dark, (gets dark at 4:30 late December) the driver then told us the cost would be $18,000. That's right, his estimate was conveniently off by 27%. After 90-120 minutes of the driver and his boss at the company brow beating my wife and I, we got the price down. Midland apparently uses a 3rd party to load and move household goods. Also, I have moved cross country 18 times and each time, the crew tags each item with a number. That number is recorded on an inventory sheet. This crew tagged all items but never recorded it on the inventory sheet, so when the household items were delivered, there was no way to determine if a box or several were missing. They didn't even provide a inventory list upon loading. I had to use by cell phone to take pictures of each page. We are now in the process of reporting this company to AGs in Denver, Washington DC and Florida where we moved to. PS. Some items were not delivered. We were moving from AZ to CA in June 2025. We hired Midland Van Lines based on their advertising and the promises made by the sales representative. We were promised a low cost, efficient, timely move. Talk is cheap. Midland did not deliver on any of their promises We informed the company of our closing date in CA and 'it would be no problem to have our household belongings delivered within 'a few' days after we closed escrow. Escrow closed on June 17th. 90% of our property wasn't delivered until July 2nd. The remaining 10% has never been delivered. We had no housewares, no beds, no clothes, no furniture, you name it we didn't have it. Midland Van Lines is a broker. Midland Van Lines hires subcontractors for every phase of the move. One set of workers picked up our property and took it to a warehouse in downtown Phoenix in a rented moving van. Midland Van Lines then proceeded to request bids for another subcontractor to deliver our property to us. When a low enough bid was submitted to Midland Van Lines, our items left the warehouse in Phoenix and arrived in CA that day. DO NOT USE MIDLAND VAN LINES. Their employees lie, their subcontractors steal items from various customers and if you cannot PROVE that you owned the item you will not be compensated to replace the missing items. We complained to BBB and because Midland Van Lines stated to the BBB that 'they have no record' of doing business with us the BBB cannot pursue any further action. Midland Vans was an absolute nightmare to deal with. They stated they would be there on a Monday and the driver got into an accident and didn't show up. They then said they couldn't get another drive until WEDNESDAY. 2 days later! OK - I get things happen. But then they stated they would be there from 12PM-4PM and we would get a call an hour before. No one contacted or showed until 8PM.........we had to call them many times to get any answers and were told multiple times "we can't get ahold of the driver." Their customer service number/emails are hit or miss to get anyone. Luke Sullivan was my agent who helped me get this all set up and he just ghosted me once things started going wrong. Getting Midland on the phone is also a nightmare and they don't have a text line. I've learned a lot of moving companies have a text line and I think those are way more reputable. Horrible communication and said they would call me back multiple times and never did. Just flat out ridiculous. I did a little research and the company is owned by a man named Daniel Azuelos who owns 6 other shell companies. It clearly is a shady business. I finally did get a refund via check in the mail 20 ish business days later but it was a 45 minute phone call fighting with them about it. In the end I'm happy they did the right thing with a refund but it shouldn't have gotten to that point. Please avoid Midland or any shell companies owned by Daniel Azuelos. read more

Currently in process with this company. Spoke to some kid named Luke for the initial sale and he assured my wife and I that "expedited" moving, means door to door, not sharing a truck with other peoples stuff, and not being transferred to another truck at some facility. That was the only thing that made us book with midland. Here we are a day before pick up and I'm being told that our stuff is going to be taken to Kansas City to get loaded with other stuff on some truck. Mind you, we are paying just over 10k for this move. I do logistics for a living, that number does not make sense for shared trucks. I can send 20,000 pounds of goods on a full truck for 3500 across the country. So I call our rep Gary Parker, and he tells me he will listen to the phone call between me and Luke and get back to me. Over an hour later we have not heard from Gary or any higher up and Gary supposedly left for the day. That's a move people make when they are wrong and don't want to make it right. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Find a shipping company that has better communication and make sure they aren't a broker. read more

After a detailed in-home assessment, we agreed on a two-phase move and a $2,800 deposit. Days later, they demanded another $2,000, falsely claiming the full deposit was $4,800. They aggressively reassured me it was refundable--a lie. Another huge red flag I now recognize: they refused to accept credit cards and insisted on scanned checks only--clearly a tactic to avoid chargebacks and accountability. On moving day, they arrived with a truck far too small, demanded even more money for multiple trips, and then quoted $22,000--double the originally agreed $11,000. The assessor denied the written agreement, and despite numerous requests, they still refuse to return my deposit. They also claim that all calls are recorded, yet when I asked them to review specific calls to prove what was said, they refused to go back and listen--completely dodging accountability. They'll quote you one price and then magically change it the moment they show up--classic bait and switch.
