Pardon me for the long review, but I promise it's worth the read. I'll start off by saying I feel for the moving crew. Two guys in their late 40's and mid 50's showed up in the morning. The first thing I was told is that they finished a move at 2 Am and were exhausted. I went and bought them sodas at their request and showed them the 3 total rooms I needed moved. I did this move with a buddy 2 years ago and was able to knock it out in about 4 hours. I hired movers due to having a fair amount of cleaning To do. I was quoted 6 hours max to complete the job, which was fairly expensive, but I thought was worth it for the sake of not having to do it myself (weird that this is why people pay movers.. I know). The movers worked very slow, which was understandable considering they had 4 hours of sleep. They asked not to work that day but were forced by their boss (Carlos) to take the job, and then told halfway through mine that they had another one to follow. It took about 3 hours to pack up a small van and depart to the new property. I stopped and got the boys lunch to help get their energy levels up. At the new house, these guys were so exhausted that they were carrying one suitcase at a time in a hand while using the handrail on the stairs for support. I felt so bad that I pitched in and started to carry heavy items for them. They would deliberate at the truck for 5 minutes before picking up the next item to carry up. I found out that the older gentleman had thrown out his back the night before (again, Carlos is an asshole but we will get to that) and had a size-able gash in his hand. These guys kept taking break after break, taking long phone calls, to the point where I started getting annoyed (since we were being charged by the hour). I had to leave at the 6 hour mark to head to the old property to clean. When I left, the main mover said they had 30 minutes left Max and had me sign the paperwork. My girlfriend showed up to the house a few hours later with a few additional hours added (they charge 105 an hour) and my bill for a 1 bedroom, kitchen, and living room had cost me $1,000 dollars. I called the company to speak to a manager about possibility of negotiating the price (since I was thinking this would cost about 4-500 bucks) and was then introduced to the famous Carlos. Now to Carlos. This "manager" is one of the most unprofessional people I have dealt with in recent years. I called to have a conversation about the thousand dollar charge and was immediately berated by this man over moving expectations. He first asked why I didn't have my buddies help move since I did it in 3 hours last time. I tried to explain that the whole purpose of hiring movers was to hire professionals who can get the job done efficiently. He did not seem to understand, proceeded to laugh at me and yell over me about how his movers take their time to do the job right( they damaged numerous things in a never lived in house). This mans behind the scenes motto is "since we are slow during Covid, go as slow as you possibly can to milk the customer as long as possible". When I asked him if nine hours was reasonable to move a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen, his response was that his employees were not slaves... He actually accused me of being a slave driver, despite his employees telling me they have been forced to work 14 days in a row, over 12 hours a day, with no paid holidays and no overtime, telling them they can go find another job if they don't like it. He then accused me of being wasted because I annoyingly explained to him that being a manager requires you to, at the bare minimum, listen to a complaint without interjecting and yelling at the customer. This guy is an absolute joke. I told him fine, I'll eat the cost of the move and would send them a bill for the charges I have for damages to the property. He said he was coming over in the morning to check everything out, in which I replied his incompetent, immature, and rude self was not welcome near my property. His responses were antagonistic, and from what I have read, this is how he deals with literally every complaint customers have. To summarize, the moving guys were very friendly, but as many have stated on these reviews, Carlos is slimy serpent who has no business running a company. This is the last time I will ever trust a recommendation, I will always be reading ahead on yelp to see what I'm getting into. I repeat, DO NOT hire this company if you want a move done efficiently and professionally. read more

I scheduled a grand piano move for my 87 year old Mother in law for the purpose of a new carpet install. I spoke with the reliable movers coordinator on the phone on 2 different occasions and explained what we needed and what type of piano was to be moved. An 80 year old grand piano. When they showed up to move the piano I heard the supervisor immediately yell out an unprofessional expletive. Completely unacceptable. He proceeded to inform me that the charge for moving the piano would be significantly more than what was quoted over the phone stating that I had requested the move of a much smaller piano. Under duress, we agreed to pay the $350.00 (versus the $215.00 I was quoted twice over the phone). They moved the piano to the garage in 30 minutes. The next day they show up to move the piano back into its original place and proceed to inform my Mother in law that it would cost an additional $350.00 to move it back. I informed them that it was extortion and that they were to immediately leave the house and that I would arrange for another company to finish the job. After 10 minutes, the supervisor called from the vehicle and offered to move the piano into its original place for a "reduced price". I stated that they were to leave once again. After another few minutes he came back and offered to move it back for free "because she's an old lady and they should just finish the job". This company clearly manipulated us to increase the cost of the move and then, when they saw they were dealing with an 87 year old woman by herself, attempted to double the cost. Unacceptable. They did move it back into the house for free but not until I called their bluff and told them to leave. I would never suggest anyone use this company for anything after this experience. read more

Don't use Reliable Movers, We heard the driver telling the assistant to never tell the customer if they damage anything. At the end of the move, we noticed that something was damaged, (which they admitted only after we brought it to their attention). For several months, the company never showed up for scheduled meeting to review the damage, or they "last minute" called to reschedule. They never came out to look at the damage, and we had to get the damage repaired ourselves. Stay away from this company. read more

Reliable Movers did a great job for me! They showed up on time, the driver was courteous and professional. They moved our 4 bedroom house from Thornton to Arvada in one trip, and it only took 4 hours. I will be using them again for our next move for sure! read more

Horrible moving company. Hired them to move one living room and two bedrooms. Took plants and packed in boxes, packed lampshades in boxes and stacked heavier items on top, crushing them. Wrapped a dresser one go around in the middle with plastic wrap, got to the storage unit and the entire top was scratched and destroyed. Took a flat screen tv completely unwrapped or protected and threw it on a brand new fabric couch, tearing a large hole in the middle. Sectional couch was caved in on the back due to the way they handled it. Called the owner of this establishment. They arranged to come out and investigate. In the end, they blamed us for the damages and vowed not to pay anything for repairs and left. Nightmare movers. Unprofessional. Zero integrity. Avoid at all costs. read more

If you learn nothing else from this review, be sure and do one thing when choosing a moving company: Do Not choose any company that will not come out and give a bid based on actually looking at your home, your possessions, and talk in person to you about how they move. Also m ake sure they provide something to protect your floors as they move. Make sure they have supplies that are necessary at times such as extra boxes, tape and moving blankets. Make sure they use experienced movers and not day laborers. Request a confirmation call that the move will take place the day before you ares scheduled to move. Reliable did none of these things. Due to a communication problem, they didn't show up for our move until 6 hours after they were scheduled. They brought day laborers who were weak, slow, and sloppy. I had to show them how to properly carry boxes. (Larger ones on the bottom, etc.) Carpet that was only one month old was left muddy and wet. Items were broken, scratched and dinged. They cost us hundreds of dollars that we had to pay the new owner because they didn't get us out by the contracted time. Carlos, the owner, will talk a real smooth line and tell you basically all this is your fault, not his. He will not back up his work. He will not allow for the slowness of his workers, and still charges full time for workers that our family members were "lapping" 3 times the things out of the house that the workers were. Carlos is not going to be truly straight with you. Do not trust what he says. read more

My washer and dryer were damaged by the movers and it's been a hassle trying to get the company to repair the damage. Reliable Movers was supposed to show up for my move between 2-3PM, but instead they showed up at 8PM. Their representative kept calling me between these times to advise me of their possible expected arrivals. She tried to get me to settle with a 4 men crew, instead of the 3 men crew I was expecting which would've cost me more money (not once did they offer any discount for their inconvenience). When the movers finally showed up, they were all tired from a previous 12 hour move they had done. I had to call their representative back that night because the movers were not planning on protecting any of my furniture or mattresses (even though I was told they would). My move ended around midnight and when I was inspecting my furniture, I noticed my washer/dryer were damaged by the movers. I notified the mover's Lead and he told me there was nothing he could do- that I had to call the office. The following day I called the office and explained the situation to their representative, who told me she was going to have their Supervisor call me which never did (I had to call them back several times before speaking with Supervisor). Finally when I spoke to their Supervisor, he told me "he was going to speak with his drivers and call me back to set up a time to come and inspect my property". I waited for about two weeks and didn't hear from anyone. I called their office again and their representative told me "she taught this matter had already been handled". I told her they haven't and explained the conversation between me and their Supervisor. It's been about two months now, the company still has not resolved the issue and is trying to put the blame on me because there's no debris on my property (off-course not, it's been almost two months). PLEASE...PLEASE...PLEASE people do your research before hiring them. Don't rely on their BBB rating because this company is not what you expect. READ... all the documents and take your time doing so because what their movers say is not what the document says. read more

Please Do not use this moving company! My husband co-owns a small business, so we understand it is sometimes hard to operate small independent businesses, and we always very nice and generous to the hard-working people like us. however, this company is set to trick you in any way they could. First of all, the person who seems to be in charge is very rude and arrogant. He uses offensive language right in our face. one of his guys left his driver's license at our old place. He could not care less about the people who work for him and basically said to us it was none of his business to help retrieve his driver's license. my husband is always fair and considerate when it comes to treating people who work for him, therefore, we felt it is incredibly rude for him to do this. Secondly, the company took their time and went to get drinks, and folded their blanket when on the clock, which is fine. but they charged us 30 min for only 5 min over. We felt we were being tricked and treated unfairly. we were not told ahead of time this is the case, otherwise we would paid more attention about the time. it is not entirely about the money; we really felt they were doing this on purposes, and took advantage of us. We always support the business that are honest and helpful to their customers. but NOT this one. very disappointed about their services. don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees. read more

Follow-up: Carlos came out and replaced our door oven after he had repaired the door. While disappointed by the initial response, we were impressed by reliable movers willingness to apologize and repair the damages after the full story was understand. Horrible and unreliable. The worst company that I have ever came across. My friend hired these movers, they had given her a flat fee to move her entire house. The agreement was confirmed more than once by the owner, which by the way was very unprofessional and rude. My friend is a single mom, which makes this whole situation so infuriating and upsetting . She pays the men to move her things, only 1/2 of her house gets moved and the rest gets left behind. We tried contacting them about the agreement we had set upon and everything got denied, according to them they don't recall ever agreeing on moving the entire house on a flat fee. This by the way had been confirmed various times, even by the employees, they even said " yes that is what we were told" .... so where is the reliable part of it? They should change their business name to Unreliable, Rude and Unprofessional Movers, I assure you that no one would hire them again if that is their name. So, now we have to hire another company to help her move the rest of her home my poor friend is now out $600 and who knows how much more for these additional movers. DONT ever used them we will ensure that they get the worst reviews, it is a shame that there is people that will take advantage of people this way. read more

Be very very careful we paid $1,700 for this particular move. The boxes were not labeled correctly. I put piles of things that I did not want transferred or stored and they packed it and stored it anyway. I asked for numerous things to be put towards the front of my storage unit and all of my clothes and my makeup have still not been found. I called the owner Carlos and the Mover Carlos and all I got was disrespect and an argument stating that I never said anything. I have random boxes that say kitchen that have my son's toys. The crew does not communicate with each other very well so apparently who's ever running the crew make sure that you're talking to each individual person because the message does not get passed around. I am very upset that they refuse to send somebody over to help me find my important items. I highly recommend that you find a different moving company because this one takes their sweet time and then when they make a mistake they refused to fix it. read more

I recently had the good fortune to work with Reliable. I had a move scheduled with a competitor who, for the second day in a row, could not complete my move. At the last possible second, and VERY frustrated, I called Reliable to see if there was any way they would be able to move us the same day. I was SHOCKED to find that they were able to help me. They were at my door within a couple of hours, succeeded where the others had failed, and were busy loading the truck. The guys were very patient and kind, and did everything they could to make sure the move went as smoothly as it could. My husband and I are thrilled and consider ourselves very lucky to have stumbled upon Reliable Movers, they saved us!! read more

The movers themselves were great, very professional, their boss Carlos was an asshole. I told the movers to stop before they went over and he tried to bill me for an extra 1/2 hour. Apparently his policy is to hold 3 expensive items on the truck and wait to take them off if the customer is having trouble paying. I told him I wasn't paying for the extra 1/2 and he said he was just going to take it out of the helpers pay check because he wasn't the boss and didn't have the right to stop time. Never using again. Boss treats his employees like shit. Millennium movers is who the job was originally scheduled through but they were over booked and handed over to these guys, apparently the owners are related, so wouldn't recommend either one which is a shame cause the guys working for them are great. read more

Reliable Movers did a great job for me! This is the first time I have ever used a moving company, so was not sure what to expect. I was blown away by everything. They showed up on time, were very professional, very careful, worked hard and were very personable as well. This move they put our belongings in storage while our house was is sale. After the sale, I will most definitely be calling back to have them move it again to the new house. read more

Beware this company is a rip off I was quoted 75.00 an hour then at the end was charged 90.00 get something in writing. They sent me what seemed to be rookies they broke and scratched my things and the company did nothing about it these guys didn't seem to know how to load a truck and they were folding moving blankets on my time for 90.00 dollars an hour they need to be loading and unloading my things only!!! I wish I had read the reviews of this company before hiring them. Movers were scheduled to be at pick up address between 8-9am. Did not show up until almost 10am. When I made the appointment, I was told that Discover card was an acceptable form of payment. When I called to confirm the appointment I again verified that I could pay with my Discover card. When the time came to pay for my transaction, my credit card was declined. Why? Because they DO NOT take Discover! After I went to an ATM to withdrawal cash the movers had discounted my move for me which I appreciate. However, an hour after they left I received a phone call telling me that the owner , Carlos, was on his way to my house to collect another $100 because the amount that I payed was incorrect. Even though I had a signed receipt for the agreed upon amount. Carlos was very rude and unprofessional. I finally agreed to pay $80 just to be done with this horrible company. Spoke to Carlos, owner/manager boy phone, He solicited our business. Told him what we wanted. He promised us he was the best and that everything would go well. Told him that we had alot of items, furniture and boxes. He said he would reduce his hourly rate. We had already put down a deposit on another mover, which he said he would pay (to my husband). Of course, he didnt. His movers were fast, but that is all. Werent careful. Put all in storatge, afraid when we get things out, how many things will be broken, etc. He also neglected when he solicited our busines that he would want almost 3/4 of the cost up front, When movers got there that morning is when we found that out, He said "either pay it or my guys can leave." He knew we were up against it and had no choice. The guys were nice, but not careful at all. Would not recomend them! read more

Reliable Movers are not reliable. They were scheduled to be at my son's house at 9:00 a.m. to do a 2 hour move of heavy items. We were all there (8 pople) waiting & no movers. My son called them & they said they were on the way. 11:00 a.m. no movers. He called again & was told they would be there by 1:00 p.m. 1:00 pm. & surprise surpirse, no movers. Another phone call & we were told it would be 2:00 to 3:00. 3:00 still no movers & then they said they would be there by 4:00 or 5:00 or they would reschedule for 9:00 a.m. the next day Yeah right, we could depend on that happening. That is when I got on the phone & said they needed to guarantee they would be there at 5:00. Yeah, 5:00 & they were actually there, but we never received a single phone call from the company letting us know what was going on. Then we wre told there would be a $55.00 additinal gas charge, that was never mentioned in the original agreement & the question was asked at the time of scheduling . They said there would be no additional charges above the moving charge. After all the hassleing they did say they would give us a whole 5% discount for the delay, which amounted to about $10.00, but insisted on the $55.00 gas charge , for a 3 mile move, that was never mentioned until the movers showed up. Whoopieee $10.00 off for 8 hours of waiting for them to show up. & then trying to rip us off for an additional $55.00. I called the owner, his wife answered & started laughing when I told her were were not happy with the additinal charge & the long delay & we were not going to pay the additinal $55.00. Then the ownere got on the phone & demanded to talk to his driver. I todl him he was not going to put his driver in the middle. He started yelling at me & called his driver on a different line & told him to hold our things until we paid. Fortunately, the truck had already been unloaded. To top it off the driver asked us to recommend them to our family & friends. I told him that was never going to happen. That a dissatisfied report was more in line with the events of the day & I would write to Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, Tom Martino & any one else I could think of. Do not use this company! They told us that we didn't need to take the stuff out of our drawers, they would just shrink wrap them. Then they turned the dressers upside down on the truck. Needless to say I couldn't open the drawers. Now I am missing jewelry that was in a secret drawer in my dresser. They broke several items, scratched my wood floors. I asked them to replace a tile they broke on my table top. Carlos slobbered it back together with apoxy. I told him it looked terrible and would not accept it!! We moved June 9th and I just got the replacement tile yesterday, July 12th and it didn't fit. One mover spent more time trying to boss the boss then working. We spent $1600 and tipped the movers as well as bought them pizza for lunch. Once I started unpacking and seeing all the damage, I wished I had of taken time to read the other reviews. I would never recommend this company as their name should be "Unreliable movers" I called them and reserved their service as they are a BBB company. I had to be out of our shop by 5/31/14 as our lease was expiring. On moving day I called them, Juanita/contact person said they would be there at our scheduled time 1:00-2:30, at 2:15 I called again, she said they had some problems with a previous move and would contact me, they never called or showed up, I called left numerous messages no return calls, thereafter, I called again 4:00 she said they would be at my shop at 7:00? 7:00 came no call, no show, thank God we had already started our own moving process, my shop phones were disconnected, I called on a cell phone, she said they were trying to reach me?? again not giving me any information other than they would be there at 8:30 p.m. This is unacceptable, 8:30 came and went, some representative called, asking how much moving was required, how many men we needed? This info had already been given to Juanita. Another company All the Kings Men showed up at 9:00, they said they were tired and had worked all day they wanted to see what we needed moved, they expressed dissatisfaction about moving and that it would take until 2:00 a,m, , I was completely unaware who these men were and why I was not notified of them coming, they said they were related to reliable movers, I asked for insurance and liability info, I was handed a paper to sign which indicated no responsibility for liability, I refused to sign it, he said I had another option which he presented for me to sign, it was the same paper. I asked to speak to a manager, he called a person named Carlos, stepped outside, they got into the truck and took off with no explanation. I called Juanita in the morning and she put me on hold, never answered, when I called again she said they were cancelling my service. It has been a horrible moving experience, these people should not be in any business. It was the weekend and end of month so it was impossible to get any movers at this short notice. My husband did the majority of the moving and had to be taken to the emergency room as a result of their not showing, failing to provide the service they agreed to, bad customer service, dishonesty, bad attitudes and poor credibility. I had over usage on my cell phone, my lease had expired and I was still looking for movers on Sunday, we had things missing as a result of having to leave things behind. We had extra moving expenses as a result of this company. This company should never be allowed to be in business, they are a fraudulent company, beware of their insurance and liability tactics as they are negligent, irresponsible and unreliable! Don't use them you shall regret ever calling them!!!They should receive no stars but F or failure ratings.. read more
