My group had an amazing time in the haunted house. It was very well put together and the actors inside the haunted house did an incredible job. I don't get scared easily, but I was scared multiple times throughout. I gave this haunted house three stars because while I was waiting in line outside, two of the actors made comments about me that felt homophobic. I am not sure if their character brand was to be rude to paying customers, but my friend thought their comments bridged on bullying. Regardless of the intent behind their comments, it put a damper on my evening when I went to this to have fun. read more

Midnight terror is a must visit during the spooky season. The scares are there and the quality of the experience is fantastic. All the details in every room make this place. There's fun little scares while you wait in line so it doesn't feel as long. My only gripe is that the overflow parking is 2miles away and you don't know the parking lot is full until you get there. I recommend just assuming their parking lot is full and parking in the overflow garage. Take the shuttle, it drops you right off in front. read more

Terrible. Spent 170$ for two people and a fast pass. When I arrived, I was told there was no parking available. Had to drive 6 mins to a parking garage and wait another 20mins in the cold for a bus to arrive and take us to the actual place. The house didn't take more than 30 mins to get through and that's being generous. I felt like I waited for the bus longer than I was in the actual attraction, it went by very quick. The people scaring are mostly children or teens. I wasn't scared once, if anything, my boyfriend scared the people doing the scaring, just to see if he could. For that much money, they should have better actors (preferably adults?) and a longer duration of a walk through. if I could leave zero stars I would. I give my star to the palm reader located outside as you exit. He gave an excellent reading and told me things he would have never known otherwise. I have recommended him to my family and friends. Honestly I didn't want to go because I thought it was going to be lame but we were already near by so we just got the tickets to try it out and let me tell you it was sooo good! This was my first haunted house, and I had SO much fun. I was a little worried about the line from reading the reviews, but the line is incorporated into the haunted house so you get to watch and interact with the actors while you wait, so it's not like you're just standing there for 3 hours. We got there at 7:30ish and I'd guess we waited for about 45 minutes, but I didn't even notice because we were having so much fun. I love thrills but I'm also scared pretty easily, so keep that in mind--I went in terrified but honestly had fun, it was just the right amount of jump scares and blood. I went last year to MTHH, thankful my friends had VIP tickets because even with those, you wait for a long time in lines. This is normal in my opinion for every haunted house I've been to in Illinois, not sure why everyone complains so much about this. It's just how it is with these attractions. This haunted house is not super scary, and I'm easy to frighten. The effects are really cool though, I will say. The fog and lighting is neat. Lots of tunnels you have to duck under which is kinda fun but difficult if you're tall. The actors were fun to interact with, very chatty which is fun. Not super scary though. The scares that got me the most were the loud noises- air horns, banging on metal barrels, props going off. Overall this is a good beginner haunted house I'd say. read more

If you're looking to encounter very believable actors and walk through a haunted house with a story, this one is for you. If you're looking for high production-value, then try the 13th Floor Haunted House in Melrose Park. This one was just ok for me; there was a wait time of around 30 minutes before you enter for a 20-30 min walk-through of various rooms with endless turns and holes in the wall. The actors really get into it; they make this haunted house experience. The warehouse facility seems worn and could be more sanitary. Sometimes, the path was not clear and there would be another possible way to go, but would turn out to be a misleading dead end. The dark tunnel that we had to almost crawl through should be a shorter distance and be taller so that people aren't so hunched over. Also, I thought the chainsaws being so close to us was a little uncomfortable, especially when they targeting me holding hands with the person in front of me multiple times. I probably wouldn't be ecstatic to come here again, but I did enjoy how they incorporated the story element and some pretty scary characters. read more

We really tried to give this place a chance, but it was the worst haunted house we've ever been to. We started the night with a rude brunette woman (I believe she's the manager) purposefully being unhelpful. I don't know what the designers think is scary...but having actors argue and yell at each other for a half hour straight while waiting in line isn't scary. Literally an actor dressed as Donkey from Shrek was the main actor we saw while in line, and he was being funny not scary. Not a single actor jumped out and surprised us while in the haunted house, it was all just actors talking and laughing to themselves. They overuse the airhorn. Probably wouldn't recommend this house for a good scare. It was basic haunted house. One of the actors distinctively said "beware of the clown room". Two clowns, younger actors. Not funny. Very outdated and over played. I was more scared of the lady that was soliciting emails in line with an iPad. If you want a good fun scare this is not the place, props are mediocre at best. It was ok, very bright in there except for one short room. Some of the actors were good, others were just kinda there and added nothing to the fright. I'm a big guy so I feel like they didnt even bother trying to scare me. All the jumping out they did was on the first person in my group, everyone else is just kind of watching it all happen. The house itself was pretty cool, pathways were you have to crouch or squeeze past the air bag. They are over using that air gun though haha every ten seconds there is another one going off. The initial bit of "terror" comes from the awful wait to get in. Over 2 hours. There's no security or staff around and many people just cut the line. Meanwhile horrendous music and lighting hits you like the rave you never wanted to be at. By the time you get, and think you're done with the lines and wait, you're fooled again as you'll get plenty more throughout the house. The haunted house itself is so-so at best. Some good props and costumes, but noticeably lacking actors in key spots, and in others actors just lacking in skill. Sure you can spring for the VIP and fast-track the line, but you'll still get stuck waiting in the bottlenecks throughout the house which kills the experience. This place definitely isn't worth the extra money, and may ruin haunted houses for you for a while. read more

Got here at 730p and there was already a 45min wait. They had signs direcring you to a parking area, but once you got there they turned you back out and into another area next door (ehy not just move the stupud signs?) Music in line queue was excessively loud; even small kids/teens had their fingers in their ears. And of course people were fake screaming at the same 3 actors that came out, and OH MY GOD THE PHONE LIGHTS. People are so inconsiderate, especially in the dark. Once inside they gave directions which you couldn't hear. 20min walkthrough attraction which consisted of characters just screaming at you and blowing their hot breath down your neck, which is sooo gross. Not scary at all. *** Beware of you have a bad back, because there's a series of pitch black twisty tunnels you must bend over to get through unless you're under 4'5". *** This wasn't scary; instead was annoying. It gave me a headache. Glad I didn't pay for this, as it was awful. I had such high hopes for this Chicago area haunt, as I was out of town and I heard this was one of the better ones. If this is one that helps sets the bar, Halloween is then both tame and lame in Chicago. read more

Amazing!!!! Last Saturday my husband and I decided to finally take our eight-year-old daughter to her first haunted house. She is completely obsessed with all things Halloween/scary. And let me tell you this haunted house was amazing. I scare very easily out loud noises and when people jump at me. My daughter it's like me, she was barely scared at all. The entire place is decorated so great! I was hoping for some more actors throw out the house but with covid it's understandable. Speaking of Covid if you are someone who is concerned for your health but still wants to have fun this is the haunted house to go to. While standing in line to get tickets they were doing a great job of making sure everyone had their mask on and every party stayed 6 feet apart. Once you enter the house they completely separate you from other groups until it's your turn to fully enter. While walking around the house my glasses kept fogging so I pulled my mask down and I even had some of the actors tell me to pull my mask up, but stayed in character the entire time. "You better cover that nose before I eat it!" My family loved the experience we had! We will definitely be going back to see Krampus!!!! read more

She clearly knew my 3 tickets were paid for , but for some reason she wanted to be a fat ignorant bitch - then she ask, whats your name- I said soooo for 12 minutes you made me search my phone in the dark and all you had to do was enter my name.. Outside of that Ignorant women -This place is amazing and I will be returning- So creative with each room had different theme- I loved it- kinda ran and left my kids twice.....LOL read more

It's rare to experience a walk through haunted attraction in which every character you encounter appears to be a theatrically trained actor. I am happy to give this cast and crew a standing ovation. The storytelling in Midnight Terror Haunt is wonderfully executed. The scares are plentiful. I enjoyed the use of levels and actual mazes aspects throughout. This place is soooo much fun! It's actually called Combat Chicago. I celebrated my 3? Birthday here with my good friends. I felt like a teen again. This hour long Combat between the wives and the husbands. The Combats were broken up into 3 different sections so it didn't feel to long, but oh what a workout. It was just like being in the video game call of duty. Really had an awesome time! We also did the Escape Room. We had 30minutes to find all the clues and make it out, just at 28 minutes we made it! Great value and minimal wait - and the wait is INSIDE. When you consider that other haunts can easily be twice the price - you're getting a great deal. Many actors and great scenery make this interactive and scary and fun. I took my 15 year old daughter who has been to a few haunts and it was my son's first time. He was pretty terrified in line but by the end he was having fun. You should know there are some pitch black areas where you feel your way along and you'll need to get low to get get through some areas - the effect is Claus-tro-phobic but it doesn't last too long. There are more than a few inventive jump scares. The Krampus on stilts was awesome and there's even a fun "snowball" fight. My only complaint - the line music is REALLY loud. I'm a bit adverse to blaring music and it took away from my ability to talk with my group while waiting but I imagine most other people weren't really bothered. I was also there last year and things were ramped up - and I imagine this talented and inventive group will keep building this haunt to greater heights. read more

I had a great time at this haunted house. It was phenomenal! The line monsters were great and their costumes were elaborate. I loved the scariness of each of the rooms. When you first enter you're given the story that you're looking for Willow who is lost and trapped in the house. Each room is extremely detailed and the only reason that I'm not giving it five stars is because I just wished that there was just a little bit more lighting or glow in the rooms so that you could see the details of the rooms and monsters. Their costumes were very creative and the rooms were well thought out but it was very, very dark. I know it's supposed to be a haunted house but I'd like to keep a visual of the monsters and layouts but couldn't because it was so dark. I won't ruin it for you - I'm a haunted house connoisseur - and there were several times when I was a little 'spooked' and I loved it! You can tell they worked hard all year to to be creative for Halloween and they succeeded!! It's worth every penny! read more

The line was so slow, when I finally reached the point to go inside my line was skipped 5 times so the VIP could get in fast, and when you finally get in SURPRISE! Another line! The staff was rude and very unhelpful, the haunted house portion was not worth the wait. Even though I got a Groupon and got my ticket for $15, I would much rather spend $30 on a better one where I get my money's worth. Glad I got the groupon. I would have been disappointed if I paid the full price. VIP was definitely better than waiting in line, we pretty much got right in. The walk through was a good amount of time, but a lot of it was just walking through a maze. Not a whole lot of jump scares, mostly predictable. There were a few surprises and a handful of really good costumes. I felt the staff did try to stay in character but there wasn't a whole lot of depth to character personality, with the exception of two or three of them. Lots of strobes, claustrophobic black fabric walls and a few opportunities to shin yourself if you're not looking where you're going. Overall I've been to better, but I've also been to worse. So this is probably safer for kids than some others. More a family friendly option than a real fright night. read more
