It's pretty scare especially the cage and clown room. I loved it and the workers are incredible. would go back 10/10

Took the kiddos here for the family fun Halloween event. Paid $10 at the door and that included a petting zoo, a bounce house, various "carnival kid games", face painting, a balloon artist and the no scare haunted house with trick or treating. All this took place in the church gymnasium and the haunted house was in the church's basement. The latter was a bit of an oxymoron for me but to each his own. The kiddie games were okay, but seemed like it was catered for younger kids 6 and under. The face painting and the balloon artists were pretty dope. We got there close to when the event opened, so the lines were really short and we were able to take advantage of all the activities. The petting zoo was impressive also. They had a couple goats, some potbellied pigs, a GIANT rabbit (trust me that thing was HUGE!) and some normal rabbits, and a couple chickens. It was enough to entertain this animal lover. The animals were all very cute and friendly. For $1 your kids can also decorate a cupcake. And if you are lucky, you can catch Elmo and take a pic with him. The haunted house was definitely worth the $10. Loved how it was very kid friendly. They really put lots of effort into decorating that thing and i can see how it would freak most adults out during the normal scare hours. For the kids, you just walked through the whole thing and at every station, there was someone in costume with candy for the trick or treaters. No one would jump out cuz that would cause a lot of crying kids. It was pretty long too, so definitely worth it! read more

For being a locally-run haunt (with many volunteer scare-ers, no doubt), the crew at The Catacombs did a commendable job. Being located in the basement of St. Pascal's Church lends a definitely eerie vibe from the get-go. Before the 'rule room' was a staging area with a chance for a free photo op. The rules were briefly explained in an opening scene that resembled a wake, although the ghoul was in half-character as he reminded us "please, guys, no cellphones inside the haunt, that's just not cool." After descending several sets of stairs, you enter the church basement. I think the natural setting worked well, with exposed steam piping, furnaces and chain link fencing surroundings. They pumped fog in for an added effect. What The Catacombs lacked in high-octane scares, they made up for it in personnel. There were LOTS of costumed actors inside, way more than I anticipated for a haunt of this nature. While many of them were of the growling, in-your-face variety, several were of a more passive nature that provided nicely subdued scares. Given that this wasn't a widely-advertised 'mega haunt', my expectation level for quality of scenes was low. I was pleasantly surprised on a few occasions, notably the butcher's scene, which was replete with gruesome glass display case and bloody meat parts strewn about. Some scenes (like the one previously mentioned) had a great amount of detail--much more than I was expecting--while others seemed unfinished. In fact, many areas were prop-less or without characters, but I attribute this more to budgetary reasons (and abundant space) than anything else. Overall, I think the St. Pascal's crew did a nice job with their haunt. Although it's not a lengthy event, it's relatively inexpensive, and knowing that you're venturing into a dimly-lit church basement makes the experience that much cooler. I would recommend this to anyone in the area seeking milder thrills and chills. read more

I waited 26 years before I ever went to a haunted house, and with this being my second year of going (yeah, I'm 27) I've got to say St. Pascal's had the perfect blend of the jump-out-at-you goblins and overall creepy vibe. It really felt like I was at my grade school at first, and soon I was just freaked the F out. My boyfriend had a good time laughing at my expense and the rest of our group raved at what a great deal this was! Best $7 I've spent lately! read more

I go to this haunted house every year and it is fantastic. They put you through in small groups which is nice. There are lots of great corners and trap doors for scares, always well staffed, great acting (the kids get into it), the sets are very well done considering how much of it is constructed by the students and faculty. This year was especially good, partly because I went early and there were a ton of people in the haunted basement and not a lot of people in line but they also made great use of the space this year. I also visit Dungeon of Doom, Reapers Realm (RIP), Fear City, and Statesville annually and I must say, St. Pascals stands up to them amazingly well when you account for price, budget and scare factor. One of my biggest pet peeves is when haunted houses put you though in huge groups or don't space people correctly so you run into a lot of other people in the haunt. That happens way too often in the large $30 haunted houses but almost never in St. Pascals. Highly recommended! read more

Went here on Friday with 3 other friends and we all loved it! Someone outside gave us VIP passes so we did not wait. Last year was longer, but I loved it! It is only open two more days! Only Thursday and Friday! You better go and you will love it!!! P.S it is really scary, only 9 dollars per ticket, and you better be prepared for a LONG wait. In my opinion this is the KING of all church/volunteer Haunted Houses and one that Gregula and I make sure never to miss! For only $7 bucks you get a good scare at a good price! St. Pascal's Haunted House (formerly known as St. Pascal's Underworld) has been scaring folks with their haunt for 21 years and it just keeps getting better and better every year. The haunt takes place in the basement of the church and to enter you have to go through the grammar school (oooo scary waaaaaah I don't wanna go to school!!!) to purchase your tix and wait in line. There are treats available in the lobby such as taffy apples, popcorn and hot chocolate, which do come in handy as this haunt is so popular there is usually a long line. You do get some entertainment while waiting in the line and I'm not just talking about the kids (and some adults) acting goofy haha. There was a werewolf, some kind of bloodied up Jedi-ish sort of character and a hospital patient walking around all dripping with fake scars and blood. Occasionally some smartass will turn the lights on and off in the hallway which usually scares the crap out of the young girls, cracking the rest of us up. After the wait in line is over, you go downstairs and have a seat in the music room where a TV is playing a video telling the rules of the haunt. When it is your turn to go in a lady tells you the rules of the house and you enter the boiler room to your DOOM...bwahahahahaha!!!!! The haunt itself is very fun! A really dark and spooky maze, with just the right amount of lighting where you can see the scary scenes and feel the terror of what is in store for you. It is even creepier because you are going through an actual boiler room/basement which conjures up thoughts of Freddy Krueger coming to get you. The actors obviously enjoy their job and do a great one at that, the costumes were very scary and they put all kinds of props and glow in the dark paint to good use. My 5th year visiting this haunted house. It's in the creepy basement of a church attached to a grade school. They put lots of work into making this scary. Small groups go through at a time and you can tell the ghouls in the house love their jobs. Amazing that this is only $7, it's scarier than some $35 haunted houses I've been to. read more

I took my kids and little cousins here and they were scared out of their minds. There were two 8 year old girl with me, 12,7,6 year old boys with me. The pice is really good for the effort that was put into doing this haunted house. I would recommend this to any one who is trying to go to a haunted house for a reasonable price. The ONLY reason this is getting two stars and not one is because the haunt itself is great. The haunt is now up to $8 - also not bad. Now, in their defense, we went on opening night and things are bound to happen. Our experience last night, however, was unacceptable! We got to St. Pascal's around 8pm and were told the wait would only be 20 minutes long. Not bad.... if only 20 minutes were true. An hour and 45 minutes later, the following happened: - There is absolutely NO organization whatsoever. They have you line up through the hallway and there are no stanchions. A group of about 7-10 year olds tried to cut in front of a group of 4 boys in front of us. Nice try, kids. They were booted to the back of the line and I'm pretty sure one of them called me b*tch in Spanish. Did I mention they were 10? - There was an obnoxious group of 4 girls behind us. I heard them say they were 13. Not only were they incredibly horny and evaluating every little boy that came around them, they also thought they were cool and came out with EVERY cuss word imaginable. I wish I was kidding. I'm pretty sure I didn't know the c-word existed when I was 13. Best. birth control. ever. - Behind obnoxious horny girls was another group of boys who decided it would be fun to scream "oy, oy, oy" each time they turned the lights out in the hallway. - The line stopped completely for about an hour - no joke. When it finally started moving again, two boys decided to be cool and cut in with the group of boys that let the girls cut in before. One of them, who I'll refer to as "hat creeper" was the most obnoxious, entitled little turd ever. At this point, my husband and I were livid and so were the two nice women in front of us. We tried to tell a security guard who didn't do anything. Apparently, there's no chain of command and no one you can complain to. It would have been better if the little creeps hadn't continued it.... - Hat creeper group got called in. Hat creeper proceeded to left his shirt and be like "what? what? take that." - We got called in and were able to sit in the holding room with them. - Horny girls also got called in - amazing. - Horny girls proceeded to bring up the fact that we were trying to get creepers kicked out. Hat creeper pointed to us and I'm pretty sure I called them little sh*ts. When asked how old they were, they said 12. Best. birth control. ever. - Teacher facilitator came out to get the group of creeper boys and since she knew them, they got called in first. - Hat creeper proceeded to smack his butt in a "kiss it" way as he went in. By this time, I was shaking mad and the security guards did nothing... again. - Shockingly, hat creeper and his sidekick didn't have tickets. Two nice ladies, my husband and I went off. - Nice teacher lady told group of boys that she didn't want to hear a word out of them and held them in the room. We got to go in first. Take that 12 year old creepers! Inside, the haunt lasts about 12 minutes and is scary. It's quite dark and the characters do a good job of guiding you after they scare the crap out of you. Again, I know I am better than 12 and 13 year olds, but it's insane the lack of respect kids have these days. Where are their parents?! It's ridiculous. We found out that they had to shut down the haunt for an hour because someone lost their keys. That would have been nice to know while we were waiting the hour and 45 minutes. If you can stomach the wait, lack of organization and the most disrespectful, obnoxious teeny-boppers, then it's worth it. If not, stay in and rent a scary movie... read more

We had so much fun! My daughter and her friend, both 9, were literally crying, but didn't want to leave. My 6 year old chickened out even before we walked downstairs. I have loved this haunt for the past 3 years! They have always had great sets, great actors, and great 'ghouls' roaming around the line. However, this year we arrived an hour before the haunt closed and it was a long line. When we got into the haunt, the actors seemed tired, which is completely understandable, because they were volunteers that had been working for over four hours (they still did a good job). The only thing that annoyed me was that they put us through is a huge group of people, which they have never done before (I think they did it because the haunt had already closed, but we had gotten in line before it had closed). It was a line of people so it was greatly less scary. I am goin to go back with a group of friends, and we will make sure to go earlier. Overall, I love this haunt because the actors really get into it, and it is scarier then some of the $40 haunted houses. I would only recommend to go earlier. read more

This haunt has been around for many many years and it's not hard to see why! They're amazing at what they do, and they only get better as the years go by! The fact that it's located in a church basement automatically gives you a spooky vibe and the moment you walk down there you're immediately submerged into an atmosphere filled with copious amounts of fog, twisting hallways, uneven floors, trippy lighting, and not to mention you'll find yourself face to face with ghoulish creatures everywhere you turn. The best part of it all is The Catacombs price their tickets at only $9 (or $15 for VIP if you're naturally impatient like I am) and I've gotten scared more times at this haunt than I have at other haunted houses that cost me $40 to go through. I especially love that they have creatures working the line entertainment scaring you before you even enter downstairs! That definitely helps when you're trying to kill time waiting anxiously in line. All in all it's a wonderful local haunt and I would recommend this place to anyone who asks. read more

My sisters and I were in Chicago to visit my niece who is attending Columbia College there. We were out while my niece was at work. We can across this beautiful church having a Haunted House. We thought it would be fun so we stopped. It was only $8 to get in, how great is that? We had to wait for awhile but not as long as you do in Louisville, Ky and not for that price. It was a great Haunted House, just scarey enough with alot of laughs. Oh did I say we are 48 to 53. We had such a good time and it is for a good cause. There was security and everyone was so nice.
