Discovered this place because my employer has a warehouse in the same complex earlier this year. You mostly shop through their website and this is just the pick up location. The concept is simple. They get discounted items from many online distros such as Wayfair and Target and pass the savings unto the consumer. The catch is that it is NO frills. Their website shows what they have and it is often just one-off items. If you need a set of 4 chairs, good luck but if you only need one, best place to come. No delivery. You have to come pick up yourself during limited hours but will also schedule a time if that does not work for you. There is no show room. Everything is boxed up. You have the opportunity to check things out when you come but once you leave it is pretty much as-is purchase. I have purchased 3 items and it has been a pleasant experience overall. The people are nice and I have not had an issue with any of my items. I saved about 25-30% off retail. It is convenient for me because I live and work nearby. My wife was verrrrry skeptical about ordering from here. Not only because the price was almost too good to be true, but also because she wasn't sure about what kind of shape the product was in. Nevertheless, we made the plunge and purchased 6 patio chairs that were from target and well over half the price as target. As I went to pick them up, she kept wishing me luck, because she was real nervous. I'm pleased to say my experience could not have been better! We purchased these during the stay at home order (this will be funny to read in the future) and I got directions to text upon my arrival. Sure enough, they directed me to pull around and I literally did not have to get out of my car. They put the box in my trunk and said thanks! Upon arriving home, I took the chairs out and started to put them together. There was zero damage to any of the chairs and they were essentially brand spankin new. Let me tell you how awesome Midtown Bargains is. First of all, the products. I found this place through an ad on Instagram and found myself looking through their website after seeing their post of a cool egg chair. I was surprised to see a lot of their furniture was from target but at a deep discount. Because of the price, I was a little hesitant about purchasing furniture since it seemed too good to be true and I was worried about the old stigma of "you get what you pay for". But the website clearly describes what condition the items are in, whether it is brand new or damaged. So I went ahead and I was able to fully furnish my patio, buying a fire table, dining set & two wicker chairs at almost half the cost of buying them retail. Example, the dining set I bought was originally $760 brand new at target, but we got it for $230 (with their monthly web deal and an additional discount from the owner which I will get to in a second). Like really? What an awesome price. The cost of a new dining set at target was almost what we paid for to fully furnish our patio. All the furniture was brand new and in their box. The only blemish we saw on the furniture was on the dining table that had a minor scratch and tiny dent on one of the legs but we didn't care plus the rest of the furniture was in excellent condition. The second reason why midtown bargains is so awesome is because of their customer service. During the whole covid-19 lockdown, customers are only allowed to come and pick up their items that's purchased online. You text them that you've arrived and give them your order number and they load up your car. Easy peasy. When we came to pick up our items, the men working there informed me that they could only find 2 of the 4 dining chairs I bought. Something about a mix up with their inventory. They were very remorseful of the mix up and offered to give me the 2 chairs at half off or offered to refund me for the order. I ended up taking the refund because I didn't want to get a dining set that may not have matching chairs. HOWEVER, the next day, the owner of midtown bargains, Tom, called me to let me know that they had found the chairs and asked if I still wanted the set. Of course I did! I was so excited to get the set back. Tom, the owner was so nice about the whole incident, not only did he offer an additional discount on the items, but he also offered to deliver the items to my house. That, you guys, is outstanding customer service. He really went above and beyond to rectify the situation. We are extremely grateful for the care and service we received at midtown bargains. Midtown Bargains is a family run business that sells overstock and return items from vendors like Wayfair. On occasion, these items are damaged, in which case Midtown Bargains will clearly display the damage and discount the items accordingly. The vast majority of items, in my experience, are brand new items in the box with discounts of 50% or more. The items down the spectrum from smalls to large furniture, exterior furniture, etc. The owners, Oksana and Tom are absolutely the nicest people. After our first purchase, they remembered our names and asked about things we shared with them in passing (e.g., buying a new house). They run Midtown Bargains as a side business, which accounts for the less-than-traditional business hours. They are absolutely committed to taking the time to unbox your item, inventory all the pieces, and making sure the item is in the condition described. We have been absolutely satisfied with our purchases. Pictured (if I can attach a photo to this review) is a dining room table (retail $2700) and 10 dining room chairs (retail $1200) that we purchased for a total of $1300. My wife is absolutely enamored with our new dining furniture. The conundrum really is whether to share about Midtown Bargains, or keep it a secret. Fact is that they have plenty of stuff to go around, and we want to continue to support their local small business. I wish all businesses ran the way this one does. I ordered some shelves from a Midtown ad. It was a long drive (3.5 hr roundtrip) to pick them up, but the price made it worth it. I didn't open the boxes until 60 days after I picked them up, and when I did, I discovered that they contained desks instead of shelving. This was their mistake of course, but I was also in the wrong - first, because I didn't thoroughly inspect the items at the pickup address and second, because I waited 60 days to open them. When I emailed them yesterday about what had happened, they responded INSTANTLY (how many companies do that?). Technically they could have just said "tough luck." Instead they were more than fair about resolving the problem and were incredibly nice in doing it. Highest recommendation. read more

Can't say enough about this place. Moving is already pretty stressful--finding the right location, hauling furniture, all of the above. When I moved out of my apartment in Seattle to come to Sacramento, I knew that I didn't want to lug anything around so I sold everything. I didn't even think about the cost, however, of furnishing a new place upon deciding on a spot. Already, deposits and rent add up...now I have to have furnishings to actual do some real living? Ugh...more money to spend. ENTER: Midtown Bargains. I found so much of what I needed at seriously low prices. Quality was there in the products, and the people were kind and extremely helpful with loading up my car with three medium-sized furniture items (table, fan, and granite top kitchen cart!) I spent $130! Insane! The regular retail total would've been close $250, I think. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a bargain!
