I got a refund after informing the practice that I wasn't informed of this procedure beforehand. Apart from this, Doctor Seri's advice to use my custom-made mouth guard turned out to be very helpful--she kept forgetting that I already had one and was suggesting that they make one for me, but she allowed herself to be corrected when I told her I had one already. I also took offense to some things the hygienist said, even if she was comforting at times and gave me very helpful suggestions for home care. She even told me "you don't have a bad mouth" which relieved my anxieties. All in all, it's an okay clinic but a little big.

Dr Lauderdale apparently won't repair a denture tooth without a complete new patient exam including…read morex-rays. No value to the patient only more expense and in this case they could do the emergency tooth repair in a couple minutes but because of the exam needed they wouldn't be able to get a time until Monday leaving several days with a damaged denture. Didn't have this issue with aspen denture in Enterprise Alabama where the service was much better and the care team more compassionate. The receptionist wouldn't even ask the doctor if she would make an exception. Nobody should use this location. Go somewhere they care about you being a person. Update because of aspen dental reply. 1. Tooth popped out due to denture being dropped as was stated to the receptionist. 2. This location is the first location Aspen Dental location that required a new patient exam for a denture repair. I stand by my review and that the "need" for an exam is only to inflate patient cost, and look for more services to charge for rather than performing the service needed. IMAGINE going to a doctor for the flu and being told you need to have your annual check up first come back in three days when we have time for that and then we can see about solving the flu issue. They did the exam and x-rays -- no cavities or any other issues, hooray! But they withheld the cleaning (which I thought was included in the new patient special). To be fair, I was wrong about this; it's not included. They then performed a "gum pocket measurement" test. OK, fine. I've had those tests done before. It's when they call out the numbers (1-6). I had mostly 2s and 3s and a handful of 1s and 4s. About the same as far as I can remember from all the other times in the past I've had the test done. In other words, nothing of note. But here's where it gets interesting. They used that test to claim that what I really required was a deep cleaning (called "scaling and root planing") -- not a normal, routine cleaning. They then refused to perform a routine cleaning, even though I asked for one and offered to pay more. They told me my only option was the expensive treatment plan, which of course, cost over $2,000. It was for my own safety and wellbeing, you see. They couldn't in good conscience perform the routine cleaning. In my book, this whole thing was a classic bait and switch, and crosses the line into unethical and deceptive business practices. I've had plenty of dental offices try to upsell me on the "deep cleaning" over the years. I always just say "no thanks", and that's that. I've never had one literally refuse service unless I agreed to their upsell. Just blows my mind. End. p.s. I'm considering whether or not I should file a complaint with the state dental board -- they regulate unethical conduct. Or I could file a complaint with the AG's consumer protection office -- deceptive advertising is a big deal to them. We'll see.

The dentist Taylor Powers tried to pull my tooth and could not pull it but tried for over two and half hours before giving up and going to get Dr. Ray to pull my tooth. They had me on straight Nitrous oxide for the whole time and Dr. Ray was able to pull my tooth with no problem. They were supposed to put me on straight oxygen for a few minutes to clear my head and this was definitely not done and I was very lightheaded and kind of woozy from the gas. Never was asked it i was okay. I was given a prescription that was copied from the copier and was not valid. No pharmacy would take it, so I suffered until Monday when they actually called it in to my pharmacy. The unprofessionalism was terrible and I will never return to this office. I was also not given any antibiotics and fear I have an infection.

I will be speaking with the base commander, patient advocate at MACH and reporting her to the board of dentistry. They lost 4 patients today because of their actions towards me. There's no reason for Tricare to authorize them to treat military and hopefully after the hundreds of complaints, Tricare will drop them as a provider for military. * dental cleanings are not thorough * multiple x-rays are taken at every visit, even for a cleaning. * you have to ask for glasses when they work on your teeth * they do not change gloves after touching doorknobs and unsanitary objects * the Dr's do not agree with Dr Ray's treatment plans.
