This merchant does framing and notary service. I went there for notary service on 12/15/2012. I had a Pour Over Will which is not a Will. The person did not know what a Pour Over Will and he took out his Notary manual and read me the definition. He wanted me to interpret what he read from his manual. Incompetent on his part. Not knowing his subject matter he did not notarized the document. It was a waste of my time and I had to educate him on this matter. The documents can be notarized as stated in LegalZoom.com. I even told him that I got the form from an attorney and he didn't even care. I even showed him the website URL as well. They should try to concentrate their business on framing and not take a side business performing notary service just to fill in their time as an amateur because they are doing a disservice to their community and themselves. In addition, I will report this incident to the California agency that license people like him. He should not be performing this service if he is not a subject matter expert like his picture framing skills. read more

Only place I will go to get my framing done (and I live in Wisconsin). I recently went to a number of places in Sacramento with 2 pieces I was looking to have framed. Midtown Framing had the most extensive selection of frames as well as the most knowledge. They spent an hour with me going through various options and with their artistic eye we were able to find a beautiful combination for the 2 pieces. i recently had 5 pieces of art repaired. They charged exorbitant prices for this type of repair. $10 to replace the paper on the back. they also did not point out some other problems with the art - it needed acid free matting - otherwise the art (original and older) will start to deteriorate. they just slapped the art back together. I then went to another framing place in the city and their work was extraordinary. They went the extra mile. I went in on a Wednesday afternoon, around 5:00, to ask about quotes for framing a poster for my girlfriend's birthday. Kevin had a couple of unique frame materials he had in store already that would reduce the cost. He showed me this one of brushed silver with slight red hints (really unique and accented the poster perfectly). He explained the use of spacers (which I ended up declining) and the different options I had. I needed it done in a week and he said it would be close, but he could have it done. I seriously damaged a very expensive piece of art during a move. The frame, glass, and pastel were damaged. I was desperate but Midtown Framing took care of my art, where you can't see it was damaged unless you were looking closely. Midtown Framing was actually our 2nd Choice -- and I'm glad we discovered it. We had gone to University Art -- where we had another print framed this year -- and they couldn't get it done for 5 months (very busy). Midtown did it in a few weeks and the price was about 33% less than University had quoted for a very similar, simple floating frame. Their quote was high - even after a coupon was applied - and it was going to take over two weeks because they send the work out.
