I've had ~12 custom frames made by Kevin at Midtown Framing over the years. I trust his judgement enough to let him do his thing and select the materials and configurations. Always exceeds my expectations. Artwork, family photos, diplomas and special documents, anything worth framing, go see Kevin.

9.3.2020 Custom koa frame by Kevin of Midtown Framing. It is a magnificent frame! Thank you Kevin!

9.3.2020 Kevin, owner of Midtown Framing, created the most stunning custom koa frame with sub frame. My family and I love, love, love this koa frame. This completes our house! . Kevin gave my husband and I excellent frame choices. We wanted a koa frame or something similar because we know the cost of koa. Kevin was patient and extremely helpful. We appreciated that he let us choose which specific frame size. He gave us a projected date of when this project would be done. We were pleasantly surprised that it was completed a week earlier than promised. Tip: An appointment with Kevin is necessary because of this COVID-19 situation. Safety precautions honored. Tip: We highly recommend Kevin!

KEVIN is amazing!!! He framed my photo and had me all finished within 10 minutes!!! Keep in mind I didn't need to purchase an extra frame at all because I had my own but he reinforced my original screws with extra strength ones and my photo looks beautiful! Now I can safely add the extra touches I want! I will DEFINITELY be back again! As an artist this local location is a jewel and needs to be preserved! Great customer service!! Thanks Mid Town Framing!

I had an antique family photo, but there was no glass protecting it. The gentleman here (I'm sorry, but I've forgotten his name) found glass to fit the photo and the original frame. The new glass looks antique. It's as if it's always been a part of the piece. Now, this family heirloom looks as good as the story behind it. I'm beyond happy.

Laying out the jersey to position it exactly to my specifications
Kyle J.

I went into Midtown Framing on September 9th at around noon to get a jersey framed. I was quickly greeted and helped. I explained my desires to frame a jersey and Gary walked me through the entire process. He helped me pick out the frame, the matting, the glass, the specific jersey layout and overall size. Gary took the time to lay out my jersey and put my selected frame and matting around the jersey to get a preview of what it would look like. Gary spent at least 45 minutes with me as I chose exactly what I wanted. Gary explained to me how the size of the frame and presentation of the jersey would affect cost. He was upfront with me about total cost and what cost cutting measures I could take if desired. Fastening the jersey to the backing was labor intensive. They actually sew the jersey to the backing for better preservation. This was one of the more expensive portions of the total cost. I chose museum glass which added an additional $120 from the other glass options. I also got lifted matting to compliment the red/gold colors of the niners. With these add ons and a dimension size of 32" x 40" my total cost was $642.00. Gary answered all my questions and explained any process or cost I was unfamiliar with. I sincerely appreciated all the time that was spent helping me create the exact shadowbox I wanted. I picked up the framed jersey in October and it was exactly like I had requested. If you want to get a jersey framed and pay for a good product then I'd recommend Midtown Framing.

Close-up of the frame and sub-frame. The brown mat is the only one we chose, the white is part of the artwork.

Wow. I'm almost suffering from writer's block as to what to say about this place. We had a beautiful painting that was done by an artist friend of ours. It was going to be the center art piece in our living room so we wanted it to be nice, not to mention preserved as it will be a piece that gets passed down. We checked out some of the other framing places in Sac and finally decided upon Midtown Framing. They did an amazing job. They're professional, friendly and absolutely know what they're doing. They'll explain the process to you and offer you frames within a variety of price ranges. It's great to know that small businesses like this exist and I plan to help keep it that way. I will undoubtedly use their business going forward. Oh...if you post a review on Yelp...they'll give you a discount too! Thanks MT Framing! Pics to follow after I hang up the finished product this weekend.

Amazing job on my crinkled delicate paper art from China and I loved the way they framed the small painting above it.

I love this place. I have taken a number of items there and it is so worth it to have them frame artwork with care. There are tons of options that they will help with for the frames mats, etc. They even somehow managed to straighted out my unfortunately crinkled delicate paper art from my trip to China. Beautiful and worth the cost for custom framing.

Kevin was a dream to work with. I live in San Francisco, and had an art show lined up at B. Sakata Garo in Sacramento. I got my 14 large frames quoted in San Francisco, and the price was three times what Kevin at Midtown Framing quoted me. I'm so glad I called Midtown Framing. Not only did my frames turn out beautifully, but they even delivered the framed artwork so I wouldn't have to make a special trip from San Francisco. I give Kevin and Midtown Framing 5 stars, well deserved!

I WISH I had the BEFORE pictures to show! I really went to Stella to restore the pictures because…read morethe frames were so damaged. In my opinion, damaged beyond repair. The frames are made of plaster, that was cast over wire. They are at least 100 years old. Chunks missing. The photos are curved. No glass covered them. The glass was lost or broken years ago. No way she could find glass that could fit the photos and the frame. The restoration took Stella around 3 months. Now I am talking about MUSEUM QUALITY restoration. When I picked them up I couldn't believe my eyes. The picture of my Grandfather, (which was almost torn in half and is the only known picture of him in our family)was nearly pristine! As was the one of my Grandmother. Now these treasures will be able to be passed down for many, many generations. Thank you so much Stella. We are so fortunate to have such an Artist in the Sacramento area. P.S. If you are a good client Perhaps you will be privileged to meet Zeus.

Instead of a polite correction or guidance, the owner abruptly stormed out from the back and shouted "WHOA WHOA WHOA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"--startling both of us. My wife apologized immediately and tried to explain we weren't aware there was a specific process, but that didn't stop him from continuing to raise his voice and snatching the poster from her hands. He then gave us an unnecessarily condescending lecture about how "it's really just common sense." Even after my wife apologized again and said she would remember for next time, he kept going. His tone was rude, patronizing, and completely disproportionate to the situation. We decided to leave without buying anything because we simply didn't want to be treated that way. To the owner: if you don't want customers touching merchandise, that's completely understandable--but then clearly post signs asking people not to handle items without assistance. Don't assume people know your process, and definitely don't talk down to them when they make a simple mistake. Your behavior was unprofessional, and it ruined what should have been a simple, pleasant shopping experience. We won't be returning, and we sincerely hope others are treated with more basic courtesy and respect than we were.
