So glad this store is in Greensboro! Years ago I came across a specialty olive oil/balsamic vinegar store while on vacation in the Tennessee mountains. There I fell in love with a lemon balsamic vinegar and had ordered offline from that store but then i found Midtown! I love that you can sample the oils and vinegars before getting them. All the associates I have worked with have been very knowledgeable about the products and have eagerly made suggestions when i was looking for something specific or different. The Sicilian lemon balsamic is my default and i always have it on hand. I use it as a salad dressing on its own - no need to mix with oil. It's perfect on chopped tomatoes, onions and cucumber. Hell, I can even take a shot of the stuff. It's that good. Go get some! And try out some of the other good stuff while you're there. read more

Company shipped me the wrong product. I was assured the correct product would ship out that day in time for the holiday. I sent the wrong product back via usps. Brittany from the raligh Store informed me via email she wouldn't ship my product out until she received the incorrect items back; a total of $20. Usps didn't scan the package at the local post office so Brittany is holding my stuff hostage. She states people steal and don't return the product. Horrible customer service. I would pitch a tent at their front door if they let me. The staff is extremely helpful working through the many oils they offer. I ended up purchasing 3 small bottles. . 1. Tuscan Herb: this seems to be a popular one and now that I have just sautéed some broccoli in it I can see why. AMAZING! 2. Butter: yes, butter olive oil. I am looking forward to trying this on popcorn and removing real butter completely. 3. Rosemary: love rosemary and looking forward to trying this in many ways. The first one will most likely be sautéed cubed sweat potatoes. They also have several kitchen items specifically about Italy including a new type of olive oil pout cap at the front counter that includes a cap. I fell in love with this pour cap vs the traditional olive oil pour cap due to the control and reduced flow rate you have. Will buy several more on my next visit. The bottle(s) you purchase are labeled for easy identification when back at home. Will definitely return. read more

I have been to a few places like this in my travels, and this is one of the better ones I have visited so far as far as selection and price is concerned. It is still pretty pricey, but I found some great options for balsamic vinegar, and there were many types of oils as well. I was a little disappointed to not see violet flavored vinegar offered as it is my favorite. The woman running the shop did however mention that there was a lavender flavored one, and I bought that, but truth be told, to it's not really the same thing, but it works in a pinch. There was one person operating the shop, and she seemed to not take me seriously as a customer. I got the feeling that she was not interested in answering any of my questions. Maybe she couldn't answer them, but all the same, if she couldn't she didn't indicate as much. I would come back at any rate because I love places like this and enjoy experimenting with different flavors. However I felt like I wasn't really welcomed there. read more

Beats the heck of buying a pig in a poke. The things they carry one might not see elsewhere, like Jalapeno Raspberry Jam or Strawberry Chipotle pepper jelly. Where have you see authentic Italian Pappardelle Pasta for sale. It is a great place to peruse Mario Batali's cookbooks as well. Great Dijon mustards. I was looking for a store that sold gourmet stuffed olives for a gift and came across this website. Most places I looked at the shipping prices were extremely high for what I was looking for. Midtown olive was the least expensive. After receiving my tracking info and waiting two weeks for delivery it looked like my order was lost. I emailed the company and the owner called me directly about my order. She was very helpful in finding out that my order had been lost and replaced my order. I would have given them 5 stars, but with my order being lost it was too late for the birthday gift, but I feel that I got excellent customer service from this small business and would order from them again. read more

Fabulous! Love going here to find new unique olive oils and balsamic vinegars - the store has a tremendous selection of both! They have all types of spiced and flavored oils and balsamic's - and you can taste each and every one before you buy! For oils, we currently have the basil olive oil and the garlic olive oil. For the balsamic's, we have the jalapeno white balsamic and the honey ginger white balsamic. These are awesome on a fresh salad or veggies. In addition, we use the oils for our various dishes we cook at home - it adds an awesome difference. 5 stars for a super friendly staff, great selection and the opportunity to taste everything! read more

I haven't tried the products, so this review is only about customer service. I wanted to get a gift card for some friends who live in Greensboro. The owner told me it could be emailed, but the website didn't have a place to put in a gift email. I tried calling the Raleigh store, but could not reach anyone. When I called back to the Greensboro store, the person who answered the phone helped me mail the gift card to its correct recipient. She was sweet as can be. read more
