    Falafel wrap

Jerusalem market has some of the best falafel I've had, their pita bread was very thin and light which made it very delicious, and all around it was a very savory dish! I also had their hummus and pita chips. They're a family owned business, and very helpful! The shop also had some candy's and dehydrated fruits displayed in glass jars! This is the smaller location they do have another location in Downtown Greensboro that I need to try since they do have a bit more options!

I'm not sure how I've overlooked this place for so long. I've eaten at several different restaurants with similar cuisine, but this is by far the best I've had in the area. First impressions was that it is super quaint and charming when walking in and I was greeted promptly with a smile and genuine hospitality. I didn't take a look at the menu very long and decided to go for the falafel wrap. My oh my! This is the absolute best falafel I've had in the Greensboro area. It's not dry like some places, and the hot sauce adds the perfect kick to balance with the other ingredients. I stumbled on this place by accident, but I will be a returning customer for sure. I visited around lunch time and I was the only customer which is shocking for the quality of food. I highly suggest anyone and everyone visit for the food and hospitality.

A fun place to shop and the perfect place to pick up lunch. I finally made it here after admiring from afar and being a loyal Jerusalem on Elm customer. I loved everything about it. The Turk is my favorite, with the falafel coming in second, but everything is delicious. Extremely kind service. I enjoyed picking up some high quality cooking ingredients while I waited for my wrap to be made as well.

Long time, delicious staple in Greensboro! Jerusalem Market is truly one of a kind. The owners are the kindest human beings and their food is fresh, authentic, and delicious. It's a great spot to stop by and grab a quick lunch or take food to go (it's just as good to go as it is there). The last time I stopped by I got a sampler and it included the falafel, pita, hummus, tzatziki. It was the perfect portion and we left feeling full. What I love is that you can eat light and healthy here!

After deciding to try something new for lunch, I came across this location. Upon arrival, I took note of dried fruit, variety of teas, candies, and more! Upon scanning the store, I arrived at the counter in the back & was greeted & asked what my order would be. Although I'd briefly viewed an online menu, I wanted to double check before ordering. I finally decided on the Turkey wrap & ordered the Turk Sandwich for the wife. Both orders were fresh and light. I had a bit of fear with adding the spicy to my wrap but thankfully it wasn't extremely spicy since I decided to only add a small amount. My wife enjoyed the Turk sandwich so much that I barely saw her come up for air but can confirm due to the half-mumbles and nods of appreciation in between bites. As our order was being prepared, we decided to continue exploring the space. We finally decided to try one of the Fanta beverages. I did see the GUS drinks and will definitely pick up a few on my next trip!

4 1/2!!! This is more of a tip than a full blown review. It's a market that sells Middle Eastern dry goods and meats. They have a deli counter in the back and they have a nice selection of salads and wraps. I went with the #8 which is the Turk. It had a dry sausage, provolone, lettuce, tomato, yogurt and some sort of hot sauce in a wrap. It was good and not heavy. It's a nice place to grab a quick lunch to go and pick up some ingredients you won't find in your typical big box supermarket.

We went to the wrong Jerusalem Market location. We have had many people recommend the take out options offered by the Jerusalem Market. Unfortunately, I had no idea there were multiple locations each of which offers a different range of food. We ended up at the "market" rather than the restaurant. Consequently, we opted to get a snack of humus and pita. These were delicious. I see why the Jerusalem Market earns so many 5 star reviews. Next time we will visit the restaurant location.

Craving something Mediterranean, something international and authentic. Shish House popped up on my radar and I stopped in for an early weekday lunch. They have the usual and traditional Mediterranean dishes, but I wanted something different today. Went with some authentic Yemeni food. I ordered the Fahsah Lehm. This is a Saltah (traditional Yemeni stew) with melt in your mouth lamb that came out piping hot and bubbling in a clay bowl (see vid). You can feel, hear, smell and taste the authenticity in this dish. Spices and flavors flowing all over. It comes out with an amazing garlic sauce and a Yemeni style green sauce, almost like a salsa. And if that wasn't enough, you get the biggest clay oven bread (a Yemeni Malawah) you have ever seen. Words don't do it justice, see pics for details. This is honestly the perfect edible shovel. Tear some off, scoop up some bubbling lamb and spices, then drag it through the garlic and green sauce. Get messy...flavor the authenticity this dish explodes with. One of the best international experiences which transports you somewhere else. And it's just a small unassuming spot in the international corridor on Market St by Super G Mart. ***PLACES LIKE THIS DEFINE MY LOVE FOR FOOD, AND WHAT MORE FOOD CAN DO THAN JUST SATIATE HUNGER. The menu is not too complicated. I ordered the chicken Sambosa. I think I would prefer if it was a vegetable Sambosa. I also ordered the lamb shawarma. It wasn't bad. I can't count the number of time I've had the food at the various locations, probably over 100. This small, local chain started in 1970 on what was the then (and remains so for some of us) High Point Road near Stamey's. They moved into a spot vacated by a pancake house and remained there for about 45 years before closing. The menu has been reworked from time to time, but the classics remain as always - Steak and Cheese Sub, Chicken Kabobs with double salad, gyro, falafel, hummus, Beef Kabobs, tabouli, za'atar fries, mezza platter, wraps, chicken salad, and more - and they have number of rice bowls you can choose from - Chicken Shawarma, Harissa Chicken, and others. On my visits here I'v had my favorite, Double Chicken Kabobs with Double Salad , as well as the Mezza Platter, Za'atar Fries, Steak and Cheese Sub, and several Rice Bowls. All good stuff. In my opinion, this restaurant chain offers the best combination of semi-fast food Mediterranean in the area.

As I waited there were a few guests dining in. The drink machine and utensils area were tidy. Overall the appearance of this location was tidy. I ordered the chicken bowl and grabbed a sweet tea. The pickles in this and sauce drizzled atop weren't a great addition. The bowl was bland, the pickled onions were good and crunchy. However bearing the bottom of the bowl it had little to no flavor on the chicken. The thinly sliced chicken appeared compacted in the bowl and all other ingredients were simply tossed in the bowl. This was unfortunately not an appetizing meal or experience. I'm Not certain that I'd want to try any other items.

Where else can you get a salad with pasta salad, piyaz, and grape leaves in it? Talk about so many Mediterranean flavors in one bowl! Our server was great; she was very attentive, checking in on us and refilling our waters when needed. Our food came out quickly, and it was fresh and delicious. My spouse ordered the Duram Adana, which was full of flavor, and was definitely spicy. Our only critique was that it came with a bag of chips, though you can get a different side for an upcharge. We shared the Mixed Appetizer plate, which came with hummus, baba ganoush, piyaz, grape leaves, and fresh pita. The baba ganoush was beautifully smoky, and the pita was pillow-y soft. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch spot, or a cute place for date night, be sure to check out Sumela for a great, local place.

I began working for myself around that time and don't eat out much anymore but I do occasionally still make it in when I meet friends or family for lunch. I've noticed a more prominent social media presence lately and in those posts Turkish pizza, pide, was featured. I'm in! We started our dinner with an order of falafel. It's one of my favorite dishes and I make it at home occasionally. My husband ordered the Adana Kebab and I of course just had to try the pide. The choices were only beef or spinach so spinach it was, since we had beef with the other entree. We almost always eat half and switch plates, so we can try several things and this was no exception. As always the adana was delicious, I just love the seasonings in the meat. The tabouleh was very different than I remembered though, consisting of way more greens than much of anything else so the flavor just wasn't the best for me. The pide was yummy, simple and flavorful, a perfect size for a lunch portion in my opinion. Filling but you wouldn't be stuffed. The staff were very attentive and as always, the owner made a few rounds in the dining room. It's great to see a local business standing the test of time and still cranking out good eats!
