Worst customer service ever. Will not be coming back. While they do have a good selection of spices, the staff was downright unfriendly.

Once you peep their prices on some imported items - such as roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, feta cheese, and olive oil - you'll laugh at the fools paying the regular grocery store prices. The BEST dates!! I grew up on pretty delicious dates my dad used to bulk order from a food cooperative, and I've had a hard time in the past several years finding decent dates - the standard U.S. pitted type are always horribly dry, and most others are too (and, yech, I can't stand those dry poopy pellet looking rolls covered in flour). I've looked all over town - including several other groceries of this genre - and been disappointed, until El Baraka! They don't always have a shipment in, but check in the glass case at the counter for the black box - those are the dates imported from Lebanon, I believe the proprietor said. For the juiciest dates I've ever had (they were literally oozing, and still on the stems!), $4/lb was an ultimate bargain. Lastly, this pesky pescatarian can't tell you much about the fresh meat counter, but the smells are good and it's all halal (that is, in accordance with Muslim law). Additionally, one side of the store has other retail items, like soaps and knick knacks and clothing.

Their prices are not as competitive as they were last year; however, there are NO other places you can go to purchase the quality of meat, olives, sauces, soap, beef bacon, beef pepperoni and Moroccan bread in the Triad area. I will give you an example. I bought an organic chicken and organic chicken wings from Earth Fare. My husband and I were excited. We fried the chicken wings, in Avocado oil, and sat down to eat. We took about (2) bites and spit it out. It tasted horrible. So disappointed, we ran over to El Baraka and bought (3) lbs. of chicken wings. They were stellar!!! We ended up giving away the whole chicken and chicken wings from Earth Fare. I have not bought ANY meat ANYWHERE else since. They also have an abundance of herbs and spices such as, Turmeric, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Cumin etc. By the way...we have never been disappointed with any purchase.

I was prompted by a craving for breakfast meats when I realized that Town and Country Meat & Produce carried Frank Corriher meat products! I high tailed it across town and was greeted by smiles and a plethora of products you just don't find in chain stores. When I left, I had sausage, livermush, and country ham in my basket and couldn't wait to get home and fry up a livermush sandwich. I am mad at myself for not remembering that the Town & Country Meat & Produce Market carried the products I craved! It is worth the drive across town and the employees make you feel as if you are the only customer in the world! I will admit that my willpower kept me from buying some of the candies I grew up with. The selection is awesome and is reminiscent of old country stores of a bygone era. Thank you to the Umfleet family for continuing to have this wonderful place that has no peers! The only reason I gave this a FIVE STAR REVIEW is because you don't have a SIX-STAR CATEGORY!!!

By accident, I typed in the wrong location causing me to pull into this place instead. Thank goodness I did as this place is off the charts, da bomb, ridiculous, Bammm, what else??!!! Extremely crowded on a Saturday morning around 11am, patrons packed to the door, nowhere to stand, and a incredibly hard time understanding any English whatsoever. That all equals to being authentically superb! Sopes and corn tortillas are hand patted and screams of a impending explosion of taco goodness! We ordered a pollo sope which came of average size, but loaded with chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato slice, and a avocado slice. Perfect! Ordering two sets of tacos (set=3), we went with three Asada and three pork. The tacos are single layered with the homemade tortillas and loaded with meat, onions, and cilantro! I must say that the steak is life changing! A good cut of steak that's marinated and cooked to tenderness and a slight seared texture on the outer edges! This taco is without question a standard bearer in this area. The language barrier is real here, even with a slight knowledge of Spanish you'll have issues ordering, but just give these guys a try!

Sometimes I get the whole chicken w fried beans to feed my family dinner on those days I don't have energy to make a homemade meal. The tacos are excellent!
