Food: Mario's is a chain pizza shop that offers a wide array of Italian items. Ironically, I enjoyed the Philly the most. The garlic knots and Pepperoni pizza were also pretty good. The spaghetti fell a little short as the pasta noodles were bloated and cooked way past al dente. Service: The service was very barebones. The person taking my order did their job, but other than that we helped ourselves. Ambiance: They did a good job quickly cleaning after diners left. A decent place for a quick meal and good portion sizes. There are a couple locations in the area and there was plenty of parking at this location. You order the food at the counter and go back to pick it up once they call out your order number. The person behind the register seemed to be having an off day, but we were still able to order our food and figured out the questions that we had on our own. The tables are fairly spacious and the food was ready very quickly. The pizza was decent but a little bit on the oily side. The steak sub was one of my favorite items. You can choose to add peppers, mushrooms, etc on it and it elevates the flavor a lot. The bread was toasted on the outside and all of the cheese made every bite a perfect bite. The spaghetti was very simple but it came in a fairly large portion size. The pasta came with a side salad and 3 garlic knots but we were a little confused and thought it was either/or and accidentally ordered double garlic knots. It was a happy accident because they lightly toasted on the outside and very fluffy on the inside. They had lots of garlic flavor and we used the sauce from the spaghetti to dip them in. read more

My family has gotten takeout from Marios for a long time. The food has been great for years (I finely found pizza close to what I'd get in Jersey) but my last two orders we were given 15" pizzas instead of the 17-Inch New York Pizza I paid for and since we've ordered that size for a long time, my family knew right away. It is really a shame and I think we'll have to find a new pizza spot for Fridays. Felt like they were trying to cheat customers and I'm not down for that. Do better! read more

I LOVE MARIO'S PIZZA! If I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be pizza. This Mario's location is superb and solidifies my desire for great pizza. The pizza is amazing. True NY style from beginning to end. And that beginning to end is large. The pizza slice doesn't fit on the plate, let alone the tray itself (see pic). Nothing beats a huge slice of great NY style pizza. Both the pizza and garlic knots I had for lunch were made fresh, not something that had been sitting there and re-heated. What sets this one apart from the rest is the super friendly manager/owner of this location. He greets everyone and has a personal conversation with them. I was there for lunch on a weekday, and he knew easily 60-70% of the customers that walked in. From friendly banter to remembering personal information, he truly makes the place a fun spot to come to. And others seem to think so as well, since they are definitely repeat customers. They do have big thin slices but with no taste, it was like eating a piece of cardboard, they must use cheap ingredients and i kinda knew it once i saw the slices and saw the cheese they have used. This place is new to this part of town and smaller than other locations in the area. I LOVE IT! John-Carlo makes you feel like family. They take great care and pride in the way the treat their customers and the way the prepare your food. This is my second visit in two weeks and I'll continue to come here over any other location. It's the perfect spot for a quick bite or take food home. There are 4 booths in the center of the restaurant separated by glass partitions. How does this make any sense at all? So, I'm visiting from Tampa and stepmom offered to take us to lunch where they had vegan options. I ordered a slice with vegan cheese and extra green olives. Pizza came out and I noticed that my vegan slice had regular cheese on it with vegan cheese sprinkled on top of it!!!!!! So, I took it back up to the counter to confirm. Cashier didn't know the answer and cook said, 'yes, all of our slices are pre-made and the only way you can get it fully vegan is by ordering a whole pizza' Oh, and then didn't offer a refund but whatever. Oh my, oh my.... Mario's Pizza! I have been wanting to try Mario's for quite sometime however, there was not a location near me. Then they moved a location right beside my favorite olive oil store! My son and I went in on a Wednesday night right around 7:50pm to place a takeout order. I ordered a pepperoni slice, garlic cheese bread, the meatball app and a cannoli. My son ordered a sausage calzone. It took about 10-15 minutes for our order to be ready. I did notice that one of the employees locked the doors at 8pm. I was under the impression that they were open until 9 most nights as that's what's on the door. Once we get home and unpacked the order, I was amazed at the sizes. That was one of the biggest pizza slices I have ever purchased. The slice was pretty good although I had it for lunch the next day and I reheated on my pizza stone. I wasn't able to even eat half of the slice it was so big. The cannoli was delicious however, it was my first cannoli and I have nothing to compare it to, i enjoyed it. I dipped the garlic cheese bread in the meatball sauce. Both were delicious. My son was very happy with his calzone. Mario's is definitely going to be one of my go to pizza spots. Came in here to grab a little slice- but the slice was gigantic, and surprisingly delicious. My expectations were super low. But I walked to the counter to grab some crushed red pepper and saw some Karen SCREAMING at the girl at the counter. Apparently there was some sort of misunderstanding. The girl working was so nice , so apologetic, super sweet. Absolutely a doll. This Karen was screaming profusely at her and the girl kept her cool. The manager came over though, and (I don't know why but he) apologized, offered to refund the ENTIRE meal for her family, and respectfully asked her to be kind to his employees. This got me in the best way. I was hoping he would say something and stand up for his people. The lady was clearly off her meds. But the way the manager handled it, how he stood up for his employees in a gentle manner, still being respectful, and how the counter girl handled it- I mean- Karen was cussing at this teenager over a sandwich, it was crazy. I see her writing a review as I'm writing mine, so if you see this Karen, you're a disgusting human who doesn't know that it's wrong to curse someone out- OVER A SANDWICH that they offered to remake and give you for free. There are literally people dying, and this is what you lose your mind over? Lol ok. ANYWAYS- they were great, food is great, place is clean, I'll definitely be back. Ate here last night with a large party- the service was outstanding! John Carlo and his assistant (sorry I didn't catch his name) truly treated us like family! Everyone working there was smiling, enthusiastic and eager to make my daughter's birthday special. An added bonus was the great food! We had 2 big pizzas (one cheese one pepperoni), mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms and a bonus cannoli! The sauce was great- the friend food was super hot and fresh and the cannoli was soooo good (my daughter's favorite part!) It was very refreshing to feel so well cared for in a restaurant. Pizza quality is 5 star without question. My second go-to is the steak and cheese Philly which is also amazing. Recently I tried the baked ziti and it was dry. Noodles perfectly cooked, cheese was beautifully proportioned but it lacked marinara sauce big time. I ate two bites and took the rest home. This store is between the Hand & Stone Massage and Harris Teeter at Friendly Center. This was the 2nd day of this location's opening. The staff were polite but not too welcoming (and I was the only customer there for most of the 5 minutes it took for my order). I informed the cashier it was my first visit but she didn't tell me about the loyalty program or other specials which I found out later after looking at their website. I liked the fact they had single slices if one doesn't want a whole pizza, so I went with that. The veggie toppings were very fresh and the pizza was excellent. The dough was perfect - not too thick or too thin. Be aware that they add a 3% surcharge if you use a credit card to pay.
