Dee hung up the phone with us after we were simply calling to ask how much longer we were needing to wait on her to be "ready" to continue with the move in process. She said that she felt pressured by us and that was why she stated she needed to hang up. Dee Myers, and the Owner of Midtown Realty and Development, are some of the most unprofessional, unconsolable, and inconsiderate people I have ever met during my existence on this planet. I moved in mid Nov 2022. Our apartment had Central AC and heating, and was on our lease. We were informed the Central AC did not work at the time of moving in. I said this would be fine, so long as it was fixed by spring when things would get warm. She assured us it would be. I work in Landscaping, so I need a cool home to return to in order to rest for the next day of hot work. Dee Myers And Midtown Realty Advertised Security Doors. These "Security Doors" Lasted One Week. After Then, Both Doors Did Not Lock. They Remained This Way The Entire Duration Of Our Lease. Only Repairs To The Door Glass Was Made When Someone Broke It One Morning. The Locks Were Left Unrepaired. I Cleaned The Glass Up Myself. That Is The Only Time The Entire Building Received Some Form Of Cleaning During My One Year Lease. 98% Of Our Lease Was Spent In Violation Of The Lease By Dee Myers And Midtown Realty. Dee Myers And Midtown Realty Did Not Make Repairs To The AC For 9 Months Out Of Our 12 Month Lease. It Reached Over 90 F OFTEN. 75% Of Our Lease Was Spent In Violation Of The Lease By Dee Myers And Midtown Realty. Dee Myers And Midtown Realty Did Not Make Repairs To The Fridge And Freezer. The Freezer From Jan 2nd, 2023 Leaked Water Into The Fridge Portion Below It. It Would Fill The Drawers On The Bottom Of The Fridge To The Brim In Only A Day. I Informed Dee Of This, And Nothing Was Ever Done. It Made 50% Of The Fridge Unusable, As Water Would Drip Over Things And Freeze, Quickly Killing Any Fresh Foods We Tried To Store. The Floor Under The Fridge Is Heavily Water Damaged From Dee Myers And Midtown Realty's Neglect To Repair. 94% Of Our Lease Was Spent With A Half Working Fridge, Due To Dee Myers And Midtown Realty's Neglect, They Now Have Thousands In Water Damage And Mold Underneath To Repair. This Damage likely Goes Into The Apartment Below. Dee Myers And Midtown Realty Did Not Make Repairs To A Sewage Flooded Bathroom Sink From Dec 24th, 2022 To Feb 9th, 2023. 13.14% Of Our Lease Was Spent In A Clear Health Hazard Violation By Dee Myers And Midtown Realty. Dee Myers And Midtown Realty Did Not Make Repairs To A Raw Sewage Flooded Bathroom Sink From May 24th, 2023 To May 31st, 2023. It Took A Week For A Plumber To Show. He Then Left The Bathroom Covered In Sewage From The Snake, And Destroyed Our Neighbors Sink With The Snake. 2% Of Our Lease Was Spent In A Clear Health Hazard Violation By Dee Myers And Midtown Realty. Repairs To The Central AC Were Only Done When I Had An Accident, And Broke My Neck. I Could Not Return Home Until Repairs Were Made, Or Else I Risked Sweating And Infecting My Surgery Site And Wounds. I Called Dee Myers To Inform Her That I Needed Repairs Done For This Reason. I Was Directed To Voicemail, Left The Voicemail, And Then Got A Call From A Licensed AC Company to Schedule Repairs, Not 30 Minutes Later. They Said She Had Just Called. This Proved To Me That Dee Myers And Midtown Realty Will Ignore Communications Attempts, If It Is Something That Will Cost Them Money, Or A Tenant They Simply Do Not Like. Even Emergency Repairs Are Hard To Get Done. What Was Done In 30 Minutes, Took 9 Months, And The Threat Of Being Liable For Infections I Could Have Gotten. The Furnace/AC Is Sitting On A Rotten, Uneven Floor, That Was Shimmed With Bits Of Metal. We Even Had Cockroaches Start Coming Out From The Cracks In The Walls In Late Aug 2023 To When We Moved Out In Late Sept 2023. I Had To Clean Everything Before Transporting To Ensure I Didn't Have Any In My Furniture. read more

Terrible communication and handling of the property, so much damage hidden before move in, had to paint the rental because they half asses it, left trash and broken furniture around to hide damage, dog urine behind the couch hidden during walkthrough. (GRROSS) Super slow at doing any thing from repairs to responding to calls and emails, There's much better rental companies out there not ran by a super boomer, would suggest you keep looking. You will get subpar rental poorly managed and maintained, good luck getting quick response to fix anything. Midtown Realty reached out to me and asked me if I would be willing to write a review. I was surprised to see the existing reviews, because they are counter to my experience. Dee has been managing three rental properties for me, and I am happy to have found her. When I met Dee (essentially to 'interview' Midtown Realty for that job) I was impressed by the clear and candid answers she gave me - it was clear she wasn't interested in promising me more than she could deliver. Not only does this set proper expectations, but it conveys that I can trust her to tell me the truth. A lot of property managers are spin doctors to tenants, property owners, or both, and unfortunately, I've experienced my share of them from both sides. Dee is prompt and to-the-point. She's handled a wide variety of property issues - plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roof leaks / water damage, drywall, painting, utilities - and her contractors have uniformly done very good work (always proper fixes, not 'band-aids') and charged a fair or 'more-than-fair' price. One of the things Dee told me when I visited with her is that she does not treat repairs as a profit center (another common bad habit among property managers), and having paid for a number of repairs, the fact is clear to me. I've had contact with multiple of the current tenants and they report that she has been responsive and that we have addressed issues they reported promptly. Pretty simple! I'm going to withhold a fifth star owing to some small wishes of mine - mainly, I wish they offered EFT to get me my rental income, and I bet some of the tenants wish they had that, too. But, based on my experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dee to other property owners, nor prospective tenants. read more

We worked with Dee to find a rental property. She was fantastic, gave us the full tour (instead of here it is, take a look, and ask me questions) which I really liked. She also worked with on the timeline of turning in the security deposit and was very prompt in responding to emails. I used Yelp and researched several companies in the midtown area before deciding on this company to manage my recently purchased rental duplexes. The cost was right, not the lowest and certainly not the highest, but fair from what I gathered during my calls to a number of other property management companies. Dee is the owner, she is attentive and very knowledgeable about real estate and property management which is helpful because I'm new to investment property ownership. It's a new relationship but so far Dee has been very responsive and professional. read more

I had Dee from Midtown manage my property for 18 months and was unsatisfied with her level of service. She did not adequately maintain communication with my tenants, the property was vacant for multiple months, maintenance requests which I made were not performed, and when I finally turned the property over to another management company the property was in such poor condition that I had to sink $10,000 into the property to make it marketable once again. read more

There's really only two words to sum it up, Slum Lord. They don't hold up their end of the lease agreements...when they fix issues it's duck taped and not actually fixed or repaired. They keep the heat almost off when it's freezing cold outside and even with countless calls to Dee, nothing is done about it. You have to threaten with lawyers and moving to get anything done. They don't communicate with tenants about anything...even when the water is off for days, they just do it with no warning. They are cheap and don't take care of the tenants needs, even as they are written in their lease. They manage like slum lords...they're cheap and selfish and have no concern for the apartments or the tenants who live their. They should be shut down entirely... and getting to the point where I need to hire a lawyer and find a new place to live. It's not worth it. If you're considering living anywhere they manage...RUN. read more

We are once more without a working clothes dryer, and a gent in a basement apartment has told my hubby he has not yet been able to find a used dryer. There are six apartments in our building, only one is vacant, so at this time there are 9 tenants. We are on the top floor, and it's more than 30 steep outside stairs down to the laundry room. When we found out the dryer didn't work was after I had washed two loads of clothes, so my 70 year old husband and I, both with our bad knees and him with his bad back, had to carry damp clothes up all those steep stairs then hang them around our apartment. Once during the winter, Dee locked us all out of the laundry room. It's more than 30 stairs out the front to our vehicle, so we washed clothes in the bathtub and hung them around the apartment. It took about three days for them to get dry, but one can hang them so you can at least take a tub bath when you need to hang clothes on the shower curtain rods. We stay here because the apartment is huge, has original beveled glass French doors on the sunroom, many original doorknobs, great views, lots of storage, built-in bookcase room dividers, and the heat is paid. We have looked for apartments in this rent range, and most of them are tiny with dead-end kitchens, while ours has a door out to the shared landing to the stairs down to the laundry room. There was beautiful landscaping when we moved here, she hired the same man who hacked the row of lilacs next door to us, and in the early spring, he hacked the bridal wreath bushes down to their nubs. read more

Besides having a really disguising attitude toward there customers when trying to get help these people are all smiles .............. At first they lead you on and are nice and of coarse want you to buy whatever "house,apartment,building" . Once everything is bought and you have settled ..... they keep those smiles . Until ! Something arises that they don't really want to be accountable for . They are really disrespectful , conniving , and have the worst customer service skills I have ever heard of . They don't know how to treat nice people and they don't know how to keep a bong with there sellers . I expected the ladies here to be really nice but Instead they had me all wrong . We never got an apology when trying to get help for something and were rudely shunned by them and they told us that they don't even know why she was having the conversation to begin with and that we just have t cooperate with whatever problems we are having in the place we are staying at . We will NEVER , work with Midtown Realty and management ever again and best believe that I will tell my friends and family . I don't want anyone else having to deal with people like that its not fair for ANYONE . So please choose wisely if you want to work for this company or buy with them . read more

That is actually a photo of our apartment building at 610 S 32 Ave. We have let Dee know that our bedroom a/c has died; same one we had when we moved in almost 12 years ago. That was 2 days ago. Luckily, the apartment runs from front to back, so we moved our bed into the dining room long ago. She does not want to put a lock on our laundry room, so there were 4 people who aren't on leases here with wet clothes on the ground, dry clothes stacked all over in and out, door wide open, because we have one coin-free washer, and dryer is also coin-free. We have explained that folks were always wrecking the coin-operated ones to get the coins. She hired a man who hacked some of the flowers as well as the bridal wreath right before it bloomed this spring because he was already doing the yard next door. Now I know why the lilac bushes over there have almost all died. She says she is going to get rid of a basement tenant who lets folks squat in his small apartment, for which they have repaid him by breaking his windows.
