Midtown wash is a great place to do laundry, meet new people, and feel at home. Whenever I enter, I am greeted warmly with a smile, a hello, and sometimes a hug. Vette is one of the nicest, most caring, laundry attendants I have ever met. I actually thought she was the owner because of the way she carried herself. Additionally, one time I was in a rush before heading abroad, and she helped me out. Vette has made Midtown wash a pleasure. I plan on coming back as long as I live in Atlanta. read more

This place is pretty decent..Big washers and dryers I see they upgraded and have debit card payments available at the washers and dryers. the first time I came they didn't..so that's def a plus..I wasn't going to comeback because of that specifically because it's such a hassle with quarters..I'll definitely b coming here more frequently now.. read more

I used to do laundry here regularly in the late "90"s when it was a dump. Wow, how times have changed! I just needed to wash my 2 comforters since I can't so them in my stackable at home. I knew the place had been remodeled and I was pleasantly surprised how nice it had become for such an old space.A lot more brand new washers of varying sizes, plenty of spots for folding, tables and chairs for sitting. Our washer at home needed repairs and and we had two weeks of laundry to do as this got sorted out. We had not stepped foot in a laundromat for decades. Not only was the manager helpful, but she was extremely friendly and gracious as well, and we were in and out relatively quickly. The place is clean, the decor is nice, and the machines are well maintained and easy to use. This place seems like the best place in town, especially compared to the well rated but tragic laundromat we walked in and out of beforehand. I want to like this place. I want to like this place so much. But every time I go here, I experience the most unprofessional disasters and I simply refuse to ever give these people my money. I showed up about 20 minutes before closing. The door was locked. I looked inside, there was someone still there folding their clothes. I was extremely annoyed and I knocked on the door. A gentleman finally came back, and to MY surprised he was extremely annoyed at ME, opening the door exasperatedly and explaining that it is almost closing time while simultaneously on his cell phone. We were not off to good start at all - I was going to let the door thing go, but don't open the door a fuss at me because you're trying to take it easy. I drop off my jacket, which needed a repair, and my down comforter, which simply needed to be cleaned. My tickets were printed and I was given an estimated time of Wednesday for the comforter and Thursday for the jacket - this was Monday, btw. I show up on Wednesday to retrieve my comforter. There was a lady there this time, she found my comforter and handed it to me. It was nicely presented in the bag and looked like it had been cleaned. Except it wasn't. Because there was this HUGE YELLOW STAIN that was NOT from me clearly visible right through the bag! She took the comforter back and did with in manner that clearly communicated annoyance. She could, perhaps, have just been annoyed with whoever was responsible for not cleaning it properly, but at this point, I was over her. I return on Friday - same obnoxious guy. I inquire about my jacket and IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN MOVED from the spot it was placed days prior. Annoyed, I asked about the time it said on the ticket and he explained that, "it doesn't mean anything." W. T. F! So many things. The blanket is ready. Ok, so it looks clean now - from what I can see from the outside. $20. You mean you're asking for the same price after you guys have been wasting my time and inconveniencing the hell out of me? Ridiculous. Of course, I explained the situation to the guy. All it did was annoy him more. I guess he just didn't like me, either, and just couldn't stand to see me pay less than the absolute most. For what it's worth, the blanket WAS clean this time. I return on Monday. Same obnoxious guy. I am so over this guy, it is not even funny. And still, the jacket hadn't been moved! I was so done with this place, I demanded I got my jacket back and snatched it from the counter so fast, I probably ripped it more. I went to Piedmont Cleaners and they fixed it for me in less than a day. Seriously. I'm glad everyone else has had such a wonderful experience here because the truth is, this place has given me the most consistently frustrating experience of any establishment that I can currently think of - save for the DMV! read more

This is my go-to place for washing large items that won't fit in my washer and dryer at home. When I've been here I've mostly been in a terrible mood because my cat peed on my bed, necessitating the immediate washing of my comforter and huge featherbed, but I never have to wait for a machine, and the hours are great (open until 10pm!). The staff has been very helpful on more than one occasion when I had to run my stuff through several cycles to get it dry and couldn't sit around and wait, and they'll keep an eye on my stuff and run it again if necessary. I've also brought dry cleaning here, and they do a great job with that too. This place is a lifesaver! read more

Not too bad. The onsite employees are always there and keep it very nice and tidy. The only thing that sucks is that not all of the washers are credit card. Make sure you look at the washer for the credit card reader before piling all your clothes in. read more

I give this place 4/5 Stars for quality of service and 2/5 Stars for customer service. Don't let their phone skills deter you from using this place. Every time that I've gotten my clothes done here they've been excellent. I just feel that this business needs someone who's a little more polite on the phone and can at least pretend to care about a customers situation. They have some strict rules as long as you can operate within them. The rules are very clear, call in the morning if you need your clothes picked up and they can have them back by the end of the day or the next morning. Very, very, I mean oh so very rarely do they ever make exceptions. If you're just using facilities to wash your own clothes it's very nice here. Free wifi, coffee, great machines and the place is clean. In fact if I could give it 5/5 for appearance alone I would. read more

After hunting down for laundromats all day, unfortunately this was my choice. I arrived with a huge bag of laundry, only for the ATM, coin machine, AND wifi to be out of order. Everyone inside all had to inconvenience Trader Joe's and surrounding business by exchanging their money for quarters before washing their clothes. :( never again. read more

I live about 10-15 minutes away from this little laundry spot, but it's worth the drive. I usually come here between the hours of 7:00 and 11:00am, and it's never been crowded. This laundromat is very, very clean, and all of the machines appear to be functioning. There is a coin machine, but all of the machines also take cards. Cycles run less than 30 minutes for wash and less than 40 for dry. They have large machines and drop-off laundry service as well. What really keeps me coming back to this place though is how comfortable it is. There are plenty of chairs and a few tables to sit at while you wait, lots of natural light, and tons of magazines and a snack/drink machine. There are also usually chairs outside if you want to enjoy the morning air in this quaint Poncey-Highland neighborhood. read more

Clean and conveniently located tucked away in the neighborhood near Ponce De Leon. I love that I can use my debit card on both the washing and drying machines. The machines I used had timers on it. I perused through magazines and worked remote while I waited for my laundry to finish. Gotta love the free WIFI. It's the little things that make all the difference. Midtown wash is clean and the attendant is friendly. I can get my clothes washed fairly cheap and quickly. The only think I dislike is that they put a hold on your card for $20 (anytime you go over $20 they put another hold. I spent $25 there and $40 was taken out). There should at least be a notice stating that. I will come back but with be paying with quarters only from now on. read more

So it doesn't say anywhere on any advertisement, website, or even the building that they don't let anyone start their loads past 8:30.. When my small load of work clothes and sheets takes 45 minutes total on both wash and dry. I walked 3 blocks just to be told this at 8:50.. which means I would have been done 25 minutes before close. I'll just walk a little farther and get sexually harassed a lot less to do my wash elsewhere. read more

Prices average but very clean and friendly. Machines are all in good working order and clean! I came to wash an oversize comforter that cleaners charge 25-75 to clean. I was able to wash and dry it in the oversize Machines for 8; not bad! read more

Best laundromat I've ever been to! Never ran into one sketchy person or felt uncomfortable which for those of you familiar with most laundromats, that's a pretty big deal. The machines work well and there are plenty of them. The place is always clean and bright with tons of reading material and free wi-fi. The music is always at a reasonable volume and old school, normally motown/rat pack/funk mixes. I adore this place and am so happy to have it in my community. Very clean and they have friendly service. The attendant on duty helped me with my comforter I kind of ruined at home. She helped me understand how to take proper care of my comforters and taught me how to add tennis balls into the dryer so the comforters dry faster and thoroughly. Midtown wash is fantastic! It has created a friendly atmosphere in the neighborhood and the people who go there to wash their clothes are happy to be there. The new machines are great to use and never have a problem with them. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. One thing that I really like is that it is dog friendly. My dog loves coming with me and I love taking her. I can even watch TV on HD if I stay and wait along with getting free wifi!!! I came here with two large comforters to wash because I didn't want to pay out the nose at the dry cleaners. After all, these are just down alternative comforters to fill duvets. The place is clean, cool (lots of ceiling fans...and Southerners know how important that is in this hot, sticky Georgia weather), great 80's music playing, lots of full size detergents for purchase, plus a vending machine with smaller sizes, refreshment vending machine, free wifi. They even do dry cleaning and/or wash/fold for you. I mean, what more do you really need? The super nice lady at the front, Lanita, was extremely helpful to me. Although I've had to go to laundromats in the past, I hadn't been to this one, so I needed assistance at first with the machines, mostly because they take credit/debit cards and I needed instructions on how to use them. She even provided me with free dryer sheets because I use fragrance-free detergent and decided I wanted my comforters to smell a little fragrant after the wash. If you have to use a laundromat, this is the place. I am so happy to have found it! read more

We went on a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale and decided to drive to Atlanta to visit MLK's campus along with the other heritage rich things to do in ATL. Problem was we had no clean clothes!! Well the hotel manager at The Downtown Atlanta Hyatt Place suggested Midtown Wash and we are so glad she did. We are from Los Angeles and knew nothing about Atlanta. We Google Mapped our way through the downtown neighborhoods into what we later learned was Midtown - a suburb of mid to middle high class primarily educated neighborhood protecting people! Kim, the manger of Midtown Wash was friendly and down to earth. Honestly we had not been to a laundromat in 15 years and were intimidated and lost on how to operate the modern day machines. I've never seen a washer that takes debit cards! The machines and facility was clean, quant, modem and appropriate. They offered various types of liquid detergent, bleach, change machines, snack vending, dryer sheets and even a very clean bathroom. The business dubs as a fluff n fold and dry cleaning. Also offered was delivery service. Kim walked us through which washing machines to use based on the size/weight of our loads of laundry and did the same for which dryers. Kim also took the time to suggest restaurants, tourist attractions and advised which neighborhoods to avoid. I highly recommend Midtown Wash! read more

This was my first visit and I must say that I am happy with it. I am tired of my clothes looking dingy after doing in the laundry room in my apartment complex, so I decided to find a laundry mat to do them at. Midtown wash is clean, convenient and has what you need. The attendant was friendly greeting me when I walked in and when I left. I could tell the attendant knows the people who come in frequently to wash clothes because she talked with them. When I asked how long the large washer would take, she offered to transfer it to the dryer for me so I would not have to make two trips. I'm sorry to have to write this review - but when a business loses your property and then refuses to right their wrongs (or even be in touch with you for that matter) i find it extremely upsetting. Mistakes are forgivable, not taking responsibility for your actions is not. The following is what I submitted to the Better Business Bureau: On December 2nd I dropped off a dress (valued $200) for dry cleaning at Midtown Wash, at 307 6th street, Atlanta, GA 30308. I was told that it would be ready for pick-up on December 5th. When I arrived on Friday December 5th, the dress was not there and I was told that the owner "must not have dropped it off yet" and that there would be no drop off over the weekend. I was leaving town on the morning of Monday December 8th and was told that they would notify me if it was available for pick up or potentially drop off the dress to me before I left town, neither of those things happened. I was understanding and gave them my address so that they could ship the dress. The next week, when I called to follow up again, I was told that the owner had fedexed the dress to the address that I had provided. It is now January 14th and I have not received my dress. I have been calling every week, and though the women who work there are very kind, the owner has never spoken with me or gotten in touch with me as he has promised so many times. Ironically, Midtown Wash advertises on their website 'Next day service on dry cleaning is de rigor.' Translation: "required by etiquette or current fashion". I would like the cost of my dress, $200, to be refunded. Thank you. read more

Place is always clean and they have coffee and wifi available for free! Now the machines take credit cards so you don't have to worry about having cash or withdrawing $20s from the ATM and making change. Only negative is they will start taking your laundry out if you're running late and they're trying to close. One woman was particularly rude to two patrons when she was trying to close up (I was on my way out). though to be fair, they're open really late so it shouldn't be hard to be out before closing! read more

I've been going to this wash for almost 2 years now, and really appreciate them. Most times I wash my own laundry, while sometimes I drop it off with the ladies that have been working there since before I started being a customer. It's convenient to have the coin machine, coin only machines and CC only machines. Always seems pretty clean, of course it's a laundromat so there's normal static sheets around sometimes, but this place can be very busy at times. When they've been busy, the ladies have helped point me into the direction of open machines. Sure sometimes when I've dropped off my laundry, a couple of times I've had a staple go through a shirt... but it's just a shirt. They haven't shrunk my clothes, or stained them, or lost them.. instead they washed them for me. If you're worried about overages on your CC, then pay in cash/change. Been there, done that.. learned from them. The ladies here are very sweet, and the place is very convenient and clean. read more
