When I stay it's chock full of inventory, I mean to the brim! They carry tons of nautical items, including the elusive mermaids. Also stocked downstairs and upstairs is kitchenware, tea towels, and antique tins and trays. I love the candy shop, full of "penny" candy from yesteryear and an ice cream shop in the back. For your tots, there's a large selection of toys and puppets, puzzles and more. I had a Blast moseying around Parsons store filling my basket with bygone treasures. After we browsed a bit, and spent a fair sum on well priced trinkets (I fell in love with a bicycle planter that I got on sale!), we set a spell on the rustic white porch and watched the whirligigs do their thing. Some days I end up with two shakes, T, protein balls, and may be a waffle for protein, oatmeal or donuts. We are staying on Emerald Isle, and the two shake shops in the vicinity are each 30 minutes away at the best. I was excited to try, limitless, nutrition, and shocked to find their door slot. I tried calling them, to see if maybe they had closed, but they had no voicemail or greeting. It just rang and rang. I finally checked their Facebook page only to find out they had closed for the day. It would have been nice if they had put a sign on the door or voice message up, since they did not, I commented on their Facebook page, requesting that next time, maybe they should do that for customers, especially out-of-state customers, and at that point, I was very polite. However, they took my comments down, and have never messaged or responded to me. Obviously, they do not need new customers. Being as this is a repeat location for us, I will not waste my time or money heading to limitless nutrition again.

I was able to buy one of the reds at a restaurant and it was really good. So, we had a rainy day at the beach and drove over to the brewery. It was about a 30 min or so drive for us.. This is a very small brewery. It has two main rooms but one was closed when we were there. The lady working there was very nice and we had a flight of beers while there. I also got a six pack of the red now that I had a chance to try it a couple of times. It is located in a very small row of stores with some side and front parking. They had a few good beers but I really liked the red. It is called Fire Tower Red... give it a try

Their beers are very good and they always have a cider on tap. They also serve mimosas and wine. There is plenty of seating inside and a variety of games. Behind the brewery there is a covered shaded area with picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, corn hole and room for the kids to run around. They do not serve food but they schedule a great variety of food trucks, you can order from a local joint or bring in your own food.

Today, after recommendation from a friend to try Vittles 2 U, I gave it a try. we had a busy day and wanted to have a working lunch, so how perfect of an idea is having lunch delivered to you, especially from a restaurant that doesn't deliver. Vittles 2U touts itself as being sort of like an uber for restaurants. I am familiar with such concepts in the Raleigh area, and have always had excellent experience with other companies, so why not give them a try.?! We easily ordered the food online and paid. The program has a notification system telling you when the order arrives at the restaurant, when the driver picks it up, and when it is on the way to being delivered. First, our order arrived and the driver pointed out that ketchup had spilled inside the bag, getting onto three of the orders. Two, didn't mind so much, but the third entree belonged to someone who hates tomatoes and ketchup, so we have a problem. Second, one of the orders had chips instead of fries. Third, a burger that was supposed to have cheese, had nothing. I pointed all of this out to the driver and he said he'd be right back with the corrected orders. After 30 minutes, another Vittles driver returns with a burger, asking for the wrong order so she could "take it back and show them what they did wrong". This burger, that was to be cooked well done, was pink on the inside, so we called Vittles just to have this taken care of as it obviously wasn't going to be remedied by having them come back. I mean, lunch only last for so long in the day. Not only was the Vittles phone staff extremely rude, she also seemed to be having a tantrum. I informed her that I was not trying to make her upset, we just wanted credit for the incorrect order as now we have a staff member who was not eating. She said there was no way she was refunding us and that they had already been out here twice, and that we would have to call the restaurant they picked the order up from and fix it on their end. Here's the thing, when you run a service-based business, mistakes are understandable. It is all in how you respond to mistakes that makes or breaks your customer service. We are highly disappointed and since there were so many mistakes and terrible follow-up, we will not be ordering from Vittles again. If you are a business with limited time for lunch, I would advise you to follow suit.

The store is itself is super cute, loved all the cow paintings. The girls at the counter immediately greeted us and were cheerful and knowledgeable about the flavors. There's a short educational video about the farm that plays on a loop on the tv, which was really cool. In the retail space, they have lots of fresh dairy from the farm including butter, buttermilk, heavy cream, half & half, milk, pints of ice cream, and probably more that I'm forgetting. Can't wait to go back the next time I'm in the area!
