I have to admit, I judged Ollie's before I ever walked through the front door…read more When I hear "closeout" or "bargain" store, my mind immediately goes to digging through disorganized mountains of who-knows-what, wondering if I'll find a bargain or just leave needing a tetanus booster. So I walked in expecting one thing...and left wondering why I hadn't shopped here years ago. The store was clean, organized, and packed with recognizable name brands at prices that honestly made me do a double take. Every aisle seemed to have another great find, and instead of feeling like I was on an episode of Storage Wars, I actually enjoyed browsing. The employees were genuinely friendly, smiled, and seemed happy to help. That alone sets Ollie's apart from a lot of retailers these days. And I have to give a shout-out to whoever curates the music. Instead of the usual elevator soundtrack that makes you wonder if time has stopped, it actually made shopping enjoyable. Then I found out they have a 30-day return policy. That completely caught me off guard. I honestly can't remember the last bargain or closeout store I visited that confidently said, "If it doesn't work out, bring it back." Great prices are one thing, but standing behind what you sell says a lot about a company. The biggest surprise wasn't how much money I saved--it was how much confidence I had shopping there. Ollie's doesn't feel like a place that's just trying to move leftover inventory. It feels like a company that genuinely wants customers to come back. Needless to say, they earned a new customer. I can already tell this won't be my last trip.

I've never consigned with them, but have several friends who have and they say it was worth it and would do it again. I've gone to this one a few times in the past years and I usually find a handful of things I need for the kids. The fall sale has good deals on Halloween costumes. Feb 2019 I found a ton of Disney shirts in great condition. Since we're planning a trip to WDW soon this was awesome! The things I like to try and look for are puzzles, games, and clothes. They also have big ticket items like strollers, cribs etc. Follow their FB page for when they have their hours and when their 1/2 prices days start (near the end of the sale.) They also post early admission tickets there. The opening day of the sale is usually insanely crazy. Be prepared for long lines (they also limit stroller usage during those times.) I hate crowds so I'm perfectly content waiting a few days and going during the week when it's less busy.

This parking lot is more full than United Center? Ulta employee: I think they just opened a clothing resale for kids...not sure. (Smile/Shrug) Me: Thanks! I'll check it out. And I did. This place is packed full of resale children's clothing/toys/etc. Of course, prices are reasonable. Here are some tips about navigating this place: 1. Don't go on a weekend. Go in late morning on a weekday- avoid d the insanity! 2. Plan to be here for a little while..it's not just a grab and go type of place. Too much to sort through. 3. If you have to at look at something twice (or thrice), don't buy it. You won't use it. 4. Best for boys clothes age 2-8. Happy Hunting!

The hubby is more of the table top games enthusiast. We were visiting from California during the holidays. There are rooms with tables and chairs to play games as well as a plethora of table top games for sale. An interesting section in the front had a section of items for sale for bird enthusiasts. There was also a section of cute plushies + various cute items like Pusheen notebooks and other character stationery. Rooms had framed posters or other themed decor like Avengers, Star Wars, Harry Potter and more. One room that was locked and fascinating is an escape room. The hubby and I have visited many table top game stores in Southern California. This one in greater Chicagoland is by far superior and unique to anything we have seen before. Would definitely return!

If you're looking for a game and then don't have it, they can special order it for you. Rooms with large tables to play games with others-sign up online to do that. What a fantastic way to meet someone with similar interests! For a quick gift, they even have Squishmallows-they're so FLUFFY!
